引き続き、 『stereo / mono 切換スイッチ』付モノラルアダプターを試聴します。
1950～60年代には擬似ステレオ(mock stereo)の音源がありました。
モノラル録音の音源を電気的に加工し、
ステレオっぽくする技術です。
正直なところ、良質の擬似ステレオは聴いたことがなく
モノラルのほうがよっぽど聴けます。
ビートルズの『She loves you』は
モノラルと擬似ステレオがあります。
聴き比べてみました。
モノラル：
２００９年のリマスター版はモノラルです。
この評判は良いようですが、ボーカルはナチュラルです。
擬似ステレオ：
ボーカルがセンターと左を行ったりきたりします。
ハイハットは少し歪んでいる気がします。
擬似ステレオをモノラルアダプターでモノラル化した音源：
モノラルに近い音です。
微妙にリバーブが残りますがずっと聴きやすくなっています。
このアダプターは擬似ステレオにも効果がありそうです。

I think that the monophonic recording is better.

Monophonic recording:
The remaster version in 2009 is a monophonic recording.
This reputation is good. Vocal is natural.
mock stereo:
Vocal moves to the left from a center.
Cymbals are distorted.
mock stereo with monophonic adapter:
It is the sound near a monophonic recording.
A little reverb remains. It has been improved.
This adapter has an effect also in mock stereo.
