Just imagine if this had taken place in Venezuela. Just imagine if the Venezuelan government had got armed militias to go to areas where anti-government protesters occupied buildings and they fire bombed them and over forty people were killed in a fire. Just imagine the reaction from John Kerry, from William Hague, from Francoise Hollande, had the Venezuelan government done this. But the Ukrainian Junta does this and there’s absolute silence, which shows you the incredible double standard doesn’t it.




　NC: I mean if the West genuinely wanted peace, they would be reining in the Kiev junta, telling them to halt their so-called anti-terrorist operation in the East, calling them to have dialogue, calling them to have a more conciliatory tone, calling them for constitutional changes, which were agreed at the Geneva accords.

　ブラジル人ら外国人が多数住む愛知県豊田市で、今春に小中学校の教員を定年退職した井藤伸比古（いとう・のぶひこ）さん（６０）が無料の日本語教室を始めた。第二の人生を踏み出した井藤さんは「言葉を通し、外国人と日本人の触れ合いの場を作りたい」と意気込んでいる。【中島幸男】

　「何を注文しますか」「カレーとハンバーグです」と、レストランでの店員と客の日本語のやりとりを再現すると、ブラジル人女性らは笑いながら、やりとりを繰り返した。教室は４月から週１回、同市永覚新町で開き、自動車関連会社で働くブラジル人の妻ら５人が学ぶ。昨年６月に来日したサンドラ・ハルミ・サイキさん（３７）とルシアナ・ミツナガさん（４３）は「楽しい」と言い、テキストにメモをし、イラストを見て単語を覚えていた。

　井藤さんは２００７年、市立大林小で外国人児童の国際教室の担当を任され、外国人の児童・生徒の教育に取り組むようになった。学校に来ていたインド人の女性が泣いている姿が印象に残る。声を掛けると「日本語が全く分からなくて寂しい。どうしたらいいの」と英語で訴えかけてきた。女性に日本語を教え、国際教室のボランティアとして活動してもらうことにした。

　また、１１年に赴任した市立西保見小では、ポルトガル語が飛び交う教室に戸惑った。井藤さんがポルトガル語で話しかけると、ブラジル人児童の反応が違った。本格的にポルトガル語を学び、児童や保護者との会話が弾んだ。

　井藤さんは教員時代に取り組んだ経験を生かそうと、再任用の話を辞退し、日本語教室を始めた。「女性たちが日本語を、私がポルトガル語を習い、お互いさまの関係。外国人も日本人も隣人と友達になりたいと思っている。そのきっかけになれば」と話している。

こういった教室は全国で広めるべきだね。

　なんといっても、日本人と結婚して、日本に住んでいまだに、日本人と日本語で意思疎通できないで、外人とたむろして先輩面している白人のじいさんもいるくらいだ。いまだに占領軍気分なのかもしれないが、日本に住んでいるなら、日本語の勉強をして、日本人と会話できるようになりなさい、といいたい。

　ロシアを孤立させて封じ込めるより、アメリカがあいまいな態度で翻弄して、欧州への野望を躊躇わせ、むしろ、アジアに向かわせよ。中央アジアで中国と衝突するから、日本、韓国と関係を強化させればいい、と。

　そもそも、ロシアが拡張主義をとるほどの意思と能力があるかが、問題になりえると思いますけど、とにかく、アメリカがロシアを追い込んで中国と手を組ませてしまってはまずい。

　著者もいうように、ロシアと中国とは国境も接しており、中央アジアでも利益が対立するでしょうから、日本としては、拡張主義の意思と能力がある中国に対して、ロシアと関係を深めたほういいのではないか、というのが私見です。

　　ただ、なんといっても、オバマ政権だから・・・・


　韓国は・・・・中国に牽引されているーーー中華圏に突入するんじゃないかなあ。地理的文化的にはそもそもそっちで、台頭する中国の経済に惹かれているわけだから、それも不思議ではない。

２９日の発言がまだ見当たらないからどういう文脈のどういう発言かわからないが、本当だとしたらすごいニュースだと思うが、嘘だとしたらすごい誤報だ。


本当なら、　朝日のこの　「核なき世界」遠く　米、新型核実験機を公開　記事との整合性はどうなるのか？いつから核兵器を廃棄するのか、といったつっこをいれたいところ。

米も南北朝鮮も日本も、人権問題、慰安婦問題、歴史問題にしっかり取り組もう。

　それをNYTのファクラーのように、橋下に指摘されても、アメリカの慰安婦問題はわざと無視したり、WSJのはやしのように、南京虐殺は虐殺で、原爆による市民殺害は”虐殺”として、通常の虐殺ではないかのような含みをもたせたり、APのヤマグチやNYTのタブチのように、アメリカ人読者を趣向にあった記事ばかりといった、アメリカ中心主義的な発想しかないと、緊張は高まっても、解決にはならない。　偽善的大国という不信感を定着させるだけだと思うのであります。

　平等や公平、国際主義をうたう朝日や毎日にも、人権侵害はグローバルな問題であり、日本人が加害になった人権侵害だけ問題にしていればいいわけではないことを自覚していただきたいものなのであります。

　Wapoにせよ、左系のThe　Atlantic にせよ、北朝鮮に、おまえはどうなんだ、と言われたら言い返しているところにも着目していただきたいと思います。他人様のことはとやかく言わない、ということでは、国際的には通用しないようであります。

　法人税負担率に不平等があるのは不公平だが、しかし、法人税率が高いと企業が海外に出て行かざる得なくなり、仮にそうなったら庶民としても、元も子もないのではないか？

　海外流出の危険はあるのだろうが、むしろ、累進課税で、高額所得者に対して税率をもっと高くする方向へもっていくべきではないか？

　社会全体の経済成長と所得格差の是正ーーー矛盾する関係なのかもしれないが、こういったことこそ、経済学者たちに解いてもらいたい経済問題である。

Supreme Court upholds legislative prayer at council meetings

A divided Supreme Court ruled Monday that legislative bodies such as city councils can begin their meetings with prayer, even if it plainly favors the religion of the speaker.

The court ruled 5 to 4 that Christian prayers given before meetings of an upstate New York town council did not violate the constitutional prohibition against government establishment of religion.

The case involved the New York town of Greece, where the council regularly opened its meeting with a prayer delivered by someone in the community. The prayers were overwhelmingly Christian, and a lower court said that violated the Constitution.

The Supreme Court overturned that ruling. Kennedy said the analysis would be different if the town’s prayers were coercive. But he said there was no evidence that “town board members directed the public to participate in the prayers, singled out dissidents for opprobrium, or indicated that their decisions might be influenced by a person’s acquiescence in the prayer opportunity. No such thing occurred in the town of Greece.”

I have a lot of time for VK. I think he writes amusingly, not viciously, which is an important skill in these kind of arguments. I also felt he was one of the few who was willing to call out 空 on his absurdities on Ken’s old site.
