● There will be a renewal workshop of soccer third class referee qualification next Sunday and I will participate in it.
In Japan Football Association (JFA) there are 9 qualifications of soccer referee.
There are 4 levels of soccer referee. And They are from the first level which can be the chief referee of J League match to the fourth level which can be the referee of local one.
And others are four grade of Futsal referee and the first level of women soccer referee.
It is in 2001 I became the fourth level of soccer referee and I was associated with the JFA.
I had an experience with the Rugby football, and I would like my children to be a Rugby football player.
But there was a boom of soccer, because the World Cup Soccer of Japan and the Republic of Korea would be held next year (in 2002 ).
And my children want to play soccer and I thought that the kick power was necessary in Rugby and I allowed my children to join the local soccer team.
However, after my childr joined the team he did not go to practice the team lesson by himself and I had to go with him to practice.
And I watched the practice of the team beside the field.
But there was no soccer coach and some fathers taught the team.
So I could not only watch the practice, but I should also take part in the practice of the team and coach their children including my child.
But I had poor soccer ability, so I could not coach children of the team and I was also in a terrible position in the team.
By the way we practiced at the place which is always a narrow ground of elementary school and practiced only kick and roll a ball.
So we were bored with the practice and we expected to make children have experience of the match game.
Then, we, parents of the team considered joining the local soccer union and to take part in the union match.
And we decided it and our team joined the Setagaya boy’s soccer union.
There were two big soccer cups in spring and autumn held by the union, and our team also participated in them.
The cups operation is consisted of joining team’s corporation.
For example we had to set up the match places and to manage the game process.
And we also had to do the game control and after our team finised the match, someone of our team had to be the referee at next match.
By the way as I wrote above, the referee of the local match has to be at least 4th level qualification of JFA’s referee.
And that is the important point for the father who does not have a skill of soccer but can be only the referee who knows the soccer rules.
I participated in 4th level referee’s workshop which was held by JFA right away, and I congratulatied on being the fourth level referee in 2001.
And 5years has passed since I became the fourth level referee.
The team has grown to be a big team as with the growth of my child.
First I played with my child 5years ago, then I became the senior member of the team staff and I had to be the referee chief director of the team.
Who is the referee chief director? Me?
But I was the fourth level referee, and I was not in a position to say what is soccer rule and what soccer is!
So I made up my mind to try to be upper level referee, the third level referee.
But why referee's promotion workshop was be held in July or August which is the hottest season?
When I tried to referee's promotion workshop, I ran 5rouns and a half trucks in National under the burning sun, and finished running, I tried paper test.
And I became somehow the third level referee.
And then 6years has passed.
I have not played soccer and been the referee for a long time.
But I thank for my relation with soccer and for spending very fun time to think movements of players and a referee at soccer games in a field, because of the knowledge of the third level referee.
