At a national policy briefing session in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Pref. on Jan. 27, LDP vice President Taro Aso expressed his will to continue the Aso faction (Shikokai), which he leads, as a policy group.
He said that "As a policy group, we will do our best to meet everyone's expectations more and more."
On the 6 LDP intra-party factions, Aso is the 1st chairperson to clearly expressed continuous existence of the faction after the scandal involving a faction's political funding party came to light.
