Translation; Over the removal of the monument for Korean Peninsula native workers, Gunma Gov. Ichita Yamamoto cancelled to hold a meeting with the S. Korean ambassador

> 群馬県が県立公園「群馬の森」（高崎市）から行政代執行で撤去した朝鮮人労働者の追悼碑を巡り、山本一太知事は 27日の記者会見で、予定していた駐日韓国大使との面会を取りやめたと明らかにした。
>「全て公開して行うことを希望していたが、同意が得られなかった」と述べた。

Over the (* fake) memorial monument for Korean Peninsula native workers -- which the Gunma Pref., authorities removed from the "Gunma Prefectural Forest Park" (Takasaki City) -- at a press briefing on June 27, Gov. Ichita Yamamotoit revealed to have cancelled the scheduled meeting with S. Korean ambassador to Japan.
He said that "We had hoped to hold it while opening the all, but no agreement was reached."
According to a source, a diplomatic meeting is principally not open to the public in order to allow for the free exchange of opinions.
The ambassador's side allegedly proposed various formats but no agreement was reached.

The ambassador's side requested to hold a meeting to talk about the matter about one week before the removal work began on Jan. 29. However, Gov. Yamamoto's side initially refused.
When this process was reported in March, Yamamoto changed his stance and showed a policy to consent to that, saying that "We would like to explain the prefecture's position."
At the press briefing, Gov. Yamamoto explained the reason why he requested to open it that "Due to the hitherto process, we were not sure that an accurate facts would be conveyed (if we kept it unopenned)."
