朝8時半、時間通りにコールドチェーン・ワークショップが市内のクオリティ・インで開始されました
参加者は各州の病院の薬剤管理部門からと、メンテナンス部門から合計18名
冒頭に主催者のUNICEF、 JICA、ソロモン保健省から挨拶があり、その後今回のワークショップの概略説明がありました
コールドチェーンとは感染症に対する側面的支援で、ワクチンを安全かつ有効に備蓄するための装置を配布して運用するプラグラムです
装置は簡単に言うと保冷庫で、庫内温度を＋2℃から8℃の間にコントロールするもので、普通の電気式のもののほかに、電気の供給がない場所用のガスまたは灯油を使うもの、そしてソーラ式の物があります
今後はソーラ式を増やしていく予定ですが、従来のガスあるいは灯油式のものもメンテナンスの対象ですので、今回の講習に含まれます
昼から場所を保健省内の会議室に移して、実習が始まりました
現在故障中のガスおよび電気式のものを4台持ち込んでグループに分かれて修理をおこないます
今日は特別に暑く、屋根の下とは言えかなりの汗をかきました

The “Cold Chain” workshop had started at 8:30 in the morning on time at the Quality Inn in the city Honiara.
Attendants were from the hospital pharmacy of the all provinces and the maintenance division totally 18 people.
At the beginning the hosts UNICEF, JICA and Ministry of Health in Solomon Islands had addressed and after then the outline of the workshop was explained.
The “Cold Chain” is one of the supporting programs for the infection control of providing cooling box for the vaccines to keep them and safety management.
The cooling box enables to keep the temperature 2 to 8 degrees and there are two types.
One is the absorption type using the LPG or kerosene and other one is the electric.
The electric has two types that are the conventional general electric one and solar one.
Absorption was used for the area of no electricity available and now they are being replaced to the solar system but this time they were included for the object of the maintenance.
After lunch we moved to the meeting room in the MHMS and workshop had started.
Bringing four absorption type machines that needed to fix to the meeting site and started try to fix them in each groups.
Today it was so hot and high humidity even a under the roof we got much sweat.
The workshop will be continued by Friday.
