充実の6日間 Fruitful 6 Days

昨日はギゾ病院のボートで空港まで送っていただいたのですが、生憎途中で雨が降ってきて、屋根のないボートで全身ずぶ濡れになりました

空港の待合室で人目もはばからずにパンツ一丁になって着替えをして、さっぱりしてから飛行機に乗り込みました

空港にはJICAのボランティア調整員Mさんが迎えに出てくれて、そのまま家に直行です

家の前に着くとゲートごしに2匹の犬たちが大歓迎してくれました

留守中はMさんが毎日犬の面倒を見てくれました

Mさんに大感謝です

安心して出張できましたので当然成果も上がり、とても充実した6日間でした

 

Yesterday the hospital secretary kindly arranged the boat for the airport only for me but unfortunately on the half way it became heavy rain and I was soaked to the skin on the roofless boat.

At the airport waiting area I changed my cloths in public and refreshed myself before boarding on.

At the Honiara airport Mr. M the JICA volunteer had pic me up and brought me to my house.

At the front of the gate of my house two dogs had welcomed me.

During my trip Mr. M had looked after them every day.

I would like to thank Mr. M a million.

I could concentrate in my job in Gizo and got successful result.

It was very fruitful six days.

 

ギゾでワークショップ Workshop in GIZO

4月26日、今日はワークショップ開催日です

予定されていたプログラムは、心電図と吸引ポンプですが、昨日急遽「超音波ネブライザー」を追加しました

看護部からもらった参加者リストは17名でしたが、本日追加が1名入り、18名になりました

さらにJOCVのMさんと医療機器保守部門の3名がこれに加わり、合計22名になります

会場は病院の医局会議室ですが、この部屋の設計は15名程度ですので、かなり窮屈になりましたが、話し声がよく通るという利点もあります

会議室で2時間の講義と小休止の後、別室で器械を使った実習をおこないました

朝からすでに使用するベッドや機器が持ち込まれて、いつでも開始できる状態になっていて、病院がこれだけ積極的に協力してくれると、わたしとしても遣り甲斐があり、いやが上にも気合が入ってきます

結果は極めて順調で、やっと自分の本来の責務を果たせた感じがします

 

 

Today we have a workshop for the medical equipment.

The scheduled topics were “ECG” and “Suction Pump” but I added yesterday one more “Ultra-sonic nebulizer”.

The attendants list that the nursing administration had gave me was 17 but today they added one, it becomes 18 plus three BME staff and JOCV M totally 23.

The venue was the doctor’s conference room but it was little bit small for over 20.

After 2hours lecture and short break we moved to another room and started the practical training.

Since this morning all equipment were already brought in the room and stand by.

The hospital cooperates such positively I was so exciting.

The result was very much satisfactory and I felt that I could complete my duty.

ギゾ病院二日目 The Second Day at GIZO Hospital

火曜日

6時起床、例によって洗濯を済ませてから7時に病院へ向かいました

途中のマーケットでドーナッツを2個買って、病院へ到着

レセプションで医局の鍵を借りて、医局でメールチェックおよび昨夜作成した報告書を送信しました

9時過ぎに遅れていたダグラスが到着し、彼と現地スタッフのセシル、レビの3人は新規導入機器の登録のため各科を巡回

私とJOCVのMさんは産婦人科へ行ってナースに未熟児保育器の取扱説明をしました

説明は1時間ほどでおわり、ふたたび医局に戻ってインターネット接続を試みましたがつながらず、断念しました

午後にX線科のフィルム自動現像機の修理を頼まれて、点検してびっくり

内部の配線がズタズタに切れています

間違いなくネズミの仕業で、新病院にネズミ出没！かと思いましたが、旧病院から移設して、まだ使用していないということですので、おそらく旧病院で被害にあったと思われます

 

 

I got up at 6:00 and after finishing the washing clothes I went out to the hospital at7:00.

I bought two doughnuts at the market and arrived to the hospital.

I borrowed the key of the doctor’s room at the reception and checked the e-mail and sent the report which I wrote last night.

After 9:00 Douglass who had accidentally delayed had arrived.

He and local staff Cecil and Levi had walk around to the register the new equipment.

I went to the maternity ward with JOCV M to explain the incubator.

The explanation was finished about one hour and we went back to the doctor’s room and I tried to connect to the internet but couldn’t.

In the afternoon, there was a complaint from the X-ray department and we checked it.

Surprisingly the rat had bitten the cable of inside of the automatic film developer.

I thought that the rat has appeared in the new hospital but it was brought from the old hospital and it was not working before moving.

ギゾ病院 Gizo Hospital

月曜日

6時半起床、ホテルの小さな洗面シンクで、昨日着用のT シャツとパンツを洗濯して、バルコニーに張った洗濯ロープに干しました

しばらく朝食の配達を待っていたが、いっこうに現れないのでフロントに訊ねると、係りが産休中なので現在朝食は無いということでした

ちょっと驚きましたが、これもソロモン流と気を取り直して出かけました

途中の市場で小さなパンと水を買って、港の近くの木陰で朝食とします

病院に着いてすぐに事務長を訪ね、本日の予定を確認しました

早速3名の現地スタッフとともに新病院を巡回して機器の使用状況を確認しましたが、一部の機器はすでに運用開始されているものの、一部はまだ梱包の状態に近いまま放置されています

これらに電源を入れて実使用状態での動作を確認をしました

またすでに運用されている機器の中にも、使い方を間違えて異常と報告されているものや、実際に問題のある装置が発見され、滞在中にいくつかの説明会を実施することとしました

夜はホテルに戻ってからその報告書をまとめました

明日EメールでJICAに送る予定です

 

　

　

 

I got up at 6:00 and I washed my T shirt and under pants of I wore yesterday at the small sink in the bathroom of the hotel and hang them down at the balcony.

I had been waited for the breakfast delivery but it didn’t come and I asked to the front and they said the responsible person was in the maternity leaving and they didn’t provide the breakfast in this moment.

I was little surprised but “it is the Solomon style” I went out to work.

On the half way to the hospital I bought some bread and bottled water.

I had them at under the tree of the seaside as the breakfast.

Soon after arrived at the hospital I visited the hospital secretary and made sure the schedule of today.

I walked around the new hospital with three local staff for checking the situation of the equipment use.

Some of them were already started to use but some of them were still left in the box.

We checked all machines at under the actual use situation and found some problems.

Some of them were used but not appropriate way and reported not working well.

I decided to have some workshop during my stay.

After coming back to the hotel I wrote the report and I will send it to JICA tomorrow.

 

大人のランチ２ Adult Lunch Party 2

日曜日のお昼に「大人のランチ」第2回を我が家で実施しました

今回は私とお二人のボランティア調整員だけの3人でささやかなランチです

といっても私が昼過ぎの便でギゾへ出張なので、やや早い時間のブランチということにしました

ロブスターの塩焼きと海藻サラダにガーリックトーストで舌鼓を打った後、調整員のMさんに空港まで送っていただきました

留守中、金曜日まではMさんが2匹の犬の面倒を見てくださいます

On Sunday, we had an “adult lunch” of the 2^nd at my home.

This time two volunteer coordinators and me only three members got together.

I had to leave Honiara for Gizo to visit for the business by early afternoon flight and it was the blunch of late morning.

After we enjoyed the grilled lobster with simply with salt, sea weeds salad and garlic toast Mr. M kindly sent me to the airport.

During my trip he will be looking after my two puppies.
