昨日幼稚園の壁画を描いた若者3人を夕方自宅に招き、バナナの収穫を手伝ってもらいました
先日から果実の重さで傾いて、隣の家に倒れそうになっているのをロープで反対側に引っ張ってあったのですが、今週初めの暴風雨でロープが切れかかっており、これ以上は危険と判断したため、若干まだ青いですが収穫することに決めました
刃渡り50㎝のブッシュナイフでバナナの幹を切断するのですが、途中でロープが切れたため期待した方向と反対つまり隣家との境のフェンス上に倒れてしまいました
それでも何とかフェンスの手前に落とすことができましたが、下のほうの房はかなりダメージを受けました
収穫したバナナは十分に成長しているものの、まだ青くしばらくは食べられそうもありませんので、これを軒下に吊るしました
このまま1週間ほど置くと、黄色身を帯びてきて食べごろになりますが、約250本のバナナがほぼ同時に食べごろを迎えますので、隣近所や友人たちに配ることになります
Yesterday I asked to three JOCVs who had finished drawing the picture on the wall of the kinder garden to help the harvest of banana in my house.
It had been leaning by the weight of fruits and stretched by the rope to the opposite.
However it was going to be broken by the stormy wind of the beginning of this week and I decided to harvest even they were still green.
One JOCV tried to cut the trunk of the banana tree but the rope had broken before cut suddenly and it felt down on to the fence between my neighbors.
Finally we succeeded to drop it down into my premises but the lower part of the fruits got damage.
We hang down them under the eaves but all of them were still green and it would take at least a week to become good to eat.
Perhaps it will be little yellow about one week later but all of 250 bananas will become good to eat in a same time and I have to deliver to all my friends and neighbors.
