三毛猫 A Carico Cat

先日来職場の倉庫の一部で雌猫が子育てをしています

可愛い3匹の子猫が母親にぴったりとくっついてお乳を飲んでいますが、かなり警戒心が強く、近くに寄ると壁の穴に逃げ込んでしまいます

中でも茶色が多く混じった三毛猫が一匹いて、これがとても愛嬌のある顔をしています

職場の連中にも人気者で、すでにこの子は自分がもらっていくなどと決めているようです

明日はフィッシュアンドチップスでも買って与えてみようかな

 

 

 

These days a female cat has been nursing her babies in the corner of the store room of our service shop.

Three lovely pussies are fed on mother’s breast but they are extremely cautious and if somebody goes to there soon hide away to the hole of the wall.

Especially one of three the calico cat that has brown mixed three colored hair has so funny face.

They are very popular in the maintenance office and some colleagues already decided to take one.

Tomorrow I will buy fish and chips and give it to them.

セキュリティ・ソフトウェア The Security Software

私がソロモンに持ってきているPCは3台、1台はオフィスに置きっぱなし、1台は家に置きっぱなし、あとの1台はモバイル専用と使い分けていますが、モバイル専用のセキュリティソフトの契約が切れたため、新たにインストールしました 

マカフィーの3台まとめてというプログラムで、先日帰国した際に契約更新したものですが、1台だけは契約期間が残っていたため、今回に持ち越していました

このインターネット環境の悪い中で、ダウンロードできるかいささか心配でしたが、何とかインストールに成功しました

といっても始めたのが昨夜の9時で、朝までにはダウンロードできるだろうと思っていたのですが、朝になってみるとまだ20%ほどしか進んでいません

仕方なくそのまま仕事に出かけて4時半に帰宅して点検しましたが、何故かダウンロードが途中でキャンセルされた状態になっています

おそらく途中でネットワークが遮断されたものだと思われます

あらためて起動すると運よく続きを再開してくれました

5時ごろに再開して終わったのが8時ですから、合計23時間かかったわけです

しかしこの国ではセキュリティソフト無しでPCを使用することは自殺行為で、病院の職員のフラッシュメモリを接続して開く前にスキャンをすると100%ウィルスに感染しています

最も多いのが「トロイの木馬」といわれるウィルスで、このソフトがあれば100%駆除できます

しかし来月のネット代の請求が怖い

 

I have three PCs in Solomon Islands with me. One is kept in my office, one is kept in my house and other one is exclusively for mobile use.

The security software of the mobile one had expired and I tried to newly install.

The software was the Macafee for three PCs I made a contract at May when I went back to Japan and only this PC was different contract period and expired this time.

I was anxious for the connection speed that if it will be able to download but it was successfully done.

However I started to download at 9 PM last night and I had believed to finish by next morning but it was still in progress of only 20% at 6 AM.

I left it to continue and came back at 4:30 PM and checked it.

Unbelievably it was canceled on the half way probably due to the network off.

I started again and fortunately it started to continue from the canceled stage.

I restarted at 5 PM and finished 8 PM means it took about 23 hours from the beginning.

However in this country using the PC without the security software is like a suicidal action.

Connecting the flash memory of hospital colleague to my PC and scanning prior to open the file the virus is detected 100%.

Most common virus is the “Trojan Horse” and using this software we can detect and delete it 100%.

However I'm afraid of the invoice of the internet connection fee next month.

 

暴風雨 The Storm

昨日は午後から荒れ模様の天気で、さらに夕方から約4時間の停電があり、ブログの更新だけでなく何もできませんでした

激しい雨風で裏庭のバナナの木が倒れそうで心配でしたが、何とか持ちこたえたようです

約200本の大きな実をつけているため、その重さで傾いています

もしも傾いた方向に倒れると実はフェンスを越えて隣の家に入ってしまいますので、ロープをかけて反対に引っ張って固定してあります

昨夜は幸いにして早めに食事を済ませて、そのあとに自分で散髪をしたので、いつもよりだいぶ早くシャワーを使った直後に停電になりました

したがって8時ごろにはすでにベッドに入って寝てしまいました

12時ごろに電気が点いて目が覚めましたが、そのまま朝5時まで爆睡しました

起きてみると風はおさまっていましたが、雨は依然として降り続いています

もったいないですが、先日導入した水道水のコックを閉めて、満タンのタンクから水を半分ほど流して、雨水で満タンになることを期待します

 

　

 

Yesterday afternoon the weather had become very bad and from the evening the electricity had broken down for 4 hours.

I couldn’t not only update my blog but anything to do.

Being so heavy rain and wind I worried about the banana tree that was going to lean by the weight of its rich fruits of about 200.

But it held out against the heavy weather.

If it falls to the leaning direction the fruits will hung over the fence and I stretched it with the rope to the opposite way.

Fortunately last night after finishing dinner, I cut my hair by myself and took shower much earlier than usual before electricity break down.

Then I could nothing and went to bed about 8:00PM.

About mid night the light turned on and I woke up but slept again soon.

This morning I woke up at 5:00AM and the wind became calm but still rainy.

I stopped the water cock to introduce the commercial water and drained about a half of tank.

I’m expecting the tank will become full by the rain water.

ボネギ・ビーチ Bonegi Beach

今日約半年ぶりに二人のJOCVとボネギ・ビーチに行ってきました

本命の目的はやはりスノーケルで海中のお魚を見ることでしたが、波が高く沈船に近づくことすらできそうもないので、私は泳ぐことを断念してもう一つの目的を果たしました

それは日本から持参した簡易シャワーのテストで、自動車のシガーライターから電源をとり、ポリタンクの水をシャワーヘッドから出すものです

先日病院の廃材の中から、業務用の洗剤が入っていた20Lのポリタンクをもらってきたので、それに水を満タンにしてトランクに入れて持参しました

結果は大成功で、20Lの水で5人ぐらいが塩気を落とす程度のシャワーとして使えることがわかりました

 

 

Today I went to Bonegi Beach for the first time of this 6 months.

The main purpose was to swim and see the fishes with snorkel but the wave was so high and seemed not possible to go to the wreck.

I gave up to enter and tried another purpose.

It was the test of the instant shower that I brought from Japan to take the power from the cigar lighter of the vehicle and pump up the water in the plastic container.

I brought the plastic of 20Litters of full water.

The result was very much successful and probably about 5 people could wash out the salty water.

戦争終結 The War Ended

今日は鳥との戦いの話題に戻ります

一昨日の夜に餌をやっていた穴を塞いだので、昨日は朝から鳥が大騒ぎ

前日まで餌をやっていた場所に行ってみては引き返すのですが、中ではヒナたちが餌を期待して大きな声で催促していました

夕方に帰宅したときはだいぶ声が小さくなっていましたので、弱ってきたのだと思います

そして今朝、もう親鳥も餌を運ぼうとしません

しかも今日はほとんどの周囲のムクドリたちの巣立ちの日だったようです

何故か一斉に巣立って、しばらくの間は親たちの庇護のもとで樹上生活をします

親は自分の子供に限らず、餌をとってきて与えます

しかし体力がないと巣立ってから木の枝に止まれず、地上まで落ちてしまうものがあります

このヒナも運が良ければ小さな木の枝につかまりながら、徐々に高い安全なところまで到達しますが、運が悪いと猫や犬に捕まってしまいます

夕方私が食事をしているとけたたましい鳥の叫び声が聞こえ、見るとルートが何か咥えて逃げていきます

運の悪いヒナをルートが発見してパクリと食いついたわけです

10羽近い親鳥が一斉にルートを攻撃しています

私がルートを助けに行った時にはすでにルートはご馳走をかみ砕いて飲み込んだところでした

しばらく親鳥たちが騒いでいましたが、日没とともに静かになりました

というわけで、私と鳥たちの戦いは、一応私の勝利ということです

さらにルートはさんざん攻撃されたことに対して、自分で一矢報いたわけです

 

Today I go back to the topic of the battle with the birds.

I closed the rout to feed the chicks before yesterday and they were quite noisy from the morning of yesterday.

Going to the space that they brought foods until yesterday and they turned without giving foods.

The chicks were expecting foods but didn’t have and asked with the big voice.

When I came back in the evening the chick’s voice were quite small and seemed weakened.

This morning the parents were not going to bring foods any more.

Today it was the leaving day of all chicks around my house.

All of them leave the nests on the same day together and lives on the tree under the parent’s protection for a while until they will be able to capture foods by themselves.

Every parents will be feeding not only own chicks but also all babies.

If they are fortunate enough they will climb to the high branch of the safe place step by step.

But if not fortunate they will fall down to the ground and be captured by the cats or dogs.

In the evening when I had the dinner suddenly the shrill screams of birds had heard.

I found Root had ran away with something in her mouth.

An unfortunate chick had captured by Root and huge number of birds were attacking to Root.

When I went to there to save Root she already crunched her game and swallowed.

The birds were screaming for a while but became quiet with sunset.

Then the battle was finished with I won.

And Root that had so many attacks by the birds returned an effective blow by her self.
