最悪の月曜日 The Worst Monday

今日出勤してしばらく経っても誰も現れません

電話が鳴ってとるとカウンターパートのNからで、今日は子供が熱を出しているので出勤しないということでした

その5分後にダグラスが顔を出して、マラリアに罹ったので帰るということです

さらにもう一人のエドモンドについて聞くと、彼は今日は家に来客で出勤しないということでした

つまりオフィスには私一人だけで、午前中にN宛に私用電話と思われる電話が2回かかっただけで、仕事になりません

私の仕事は現地スタッフに対してアドバイスしたり、教育したりすることであり、その相手が居なくては仕事にならないのです

昼前に事務局長をつかまえて、事情を話し電話番の女性を手配してもらった上で、私も帰宅しました

しかし帰宅したものの、家は停電で扇風機も使えず、バルコニーのハンモックで2時間ほど昼寝をしてしまいました

 

This morning after I arrived to the office no one had come for a while.

The phone rang from N my counterpart, and said his son had a fever and he’ll be not coming.

After 5minutes, Douglass showed his face and said he got the malarias and go home.

Also another boy Edmond had the guest and he’ll be absent today.

Finally only myself was working today.

In the morning two phone call had come seemed private call to N and I couldn’t do anything.

My job in this hospital is not the phone reception but advice and educate for local staff means there is no work without local staff.

Just before the lunch time I asked to the hospital secretary to arrange the telephone clerk and I went back home.

However the electricity had broken down in my house and I couldn’t do anything too.

I took a nap of two hours on the hung mock in the balcony.

 

 

マグロ・ステーキ丼 Tuna Steak Don

先週いただいたマグロの冊が冷凍室に残っていたので、今日はマグロ・ステーキ丼です

まず解凍した切り身を漬けにします

タレは醤油、みりん、酒を1:1:0.5の割合で調合して、生姜とにんにくのすりおろしを加えたものです

1時間ほど漬けこんでからこれをフライパンで焼きますが、もちろんグリルでもかまいません

フライパンなら漬けのタレをかけながらテリヤキ風に焼きますが、マグロの鮮度が信頼できるなら、表面だけ焼いて中はレアの状態が最高です

これをスライスして温かいご飯を盛り付けた丼の上に乗せます

トッピングとしてあれば白ゴマとパクチーの葉を数枚

またこれに大根おろしとポン酢があればそれを添えます

今日は大根がなかったので、代わりにホースラディッシュクリームを添えました

一人で食べるのがもったいないぐらいのとっても美味しいひと品です

デザートには昨日のコーヒーゼリーなどいかがでしょうか？

 

　

　

　

 

The tuna block that I was given last week had remained in the freezer I cooked the tuna- steak donburi today.

The first put the small block into the special sauce that was blended with soy-sauce, mirin and sake for the ratio of 1:1:0.5 with the minced ginger and garlic for about 60 minutes.

After then fry or grill in the fry-pan or the oven grill.

In the case of fry-pan should be roasted with serving the sauce like teriyaki.

If the tuna is enough fresh it is roasted only the surface with rare inside could be best.

Slice the steak and put it on the hot rice.

And put white some sesame and some leaves of coriander as the topping.

If available supply some minced radish and soy-sauce with squeezed lemon.

Today I supplied horse-radish cream instead.

It was so nice and too regretful to eat it alone.

休日の家のお仕事 The House Work on Holiday

朝のうちに大家さんが来て、セメントと混ぜるための砂を5袋置いていきました

そのあと洗車をして久しぶりにワックスがけもしました（見てくださいこのピッカピカ）

また後部座席のパワーウィンドーの動きが悪いのが以前から気になっていたので、ドアの内張りを外し、ガラスのレールを掃除したあとにシリコンオイルを少量塗りました

さらにフロントグラスには液体ワイパー「ガラコ」を塗りこれで雨期を迎える準備は完璧です

 

午後からは久しぶりにコーヒーゼリー作りに挑戦しました

粉末ゼリーを水で溶いてインスタントコーヒーと少しの砂糖を加えて、熱湯で溶かします

まだ熱いので型に入れていませんが、もう少し冷ましてから型に入れ、冷蔵庫で冷やします

固まったら上にバニラアイスクリームを乗せて、ミントのはっぱを2枚乗せて完成です

これをホニアラで評判のカフェに出したら30ドルはとれそうな自信作です

In the early morning my landlord had come and left five sand bags for the mixing with the cement.

After then I washed my vehicle and polished with the wax.(Please see the bright body)

I had been concerned that the power windows of the rear seat were not moving smoothly and I removed the liner of the door and cleaned up the glass rails and put a little silicon oil there.

Furthermore I put the liquid wiper “Glaco” on the wind screen and I was ready for coming rainy season.

 

In the afternoon I tried to cook the coffee jelly.

Putting the powdered jelly into a little water and add the instant coffee and little sugar.

Pour the hot water and melt all of them and it was still hot and I didn’t put them into the mold.

After cooling down I’ll put them into the mold and keep them in the refrigerator.

When they will become jell, put the vanilla ice cream and two leaves of mint on it.

If it will be served at the café that has good reputation in Honiara it must be $30.

裏山修復工事 Restore Construction of the Backyard

今日帰宅すると、大家さんが数人の若者を伴って裏山の修復工事をしていました

先日の豪雨で流れ出した裏山の土砂を食い止めるために、石を積み上げてコンクリートで固めるということです

今日は基礎に積む石を運び込んで、積み上げ作業を始めましたが日没で終了

続きは明日またやるそうです

この石はよく見ると珊瑚の堆積したもので、南太平洋の島国ならではのものです

そういえば、石垣島あたりの家の周りに積み上げてあった石が同じだったような気がします

 

 

Today when I came back home, my landlord had come and worked for the back yard restoring.

By the heavy rain of one week ago the soil of the back yard flew down and to stop it they will pile up the stones and make the wall by the concrete.

Today they brought in the stones and started to pile up but it was suspended by the sunset.

Tomorrow they will continue again.

Watching the stones carefully, it was the compressed coral and they were the typical in South Pacific Islands.

I remember that these kinds of stones were piled up around the house in Ishigaki-jima Japan.

 

マッサージ The Massage Parlor

昨夜7時半からまた停電で何もできないので、以前から行こうと思っていたマッサージに行ってきました

場所は私が着任直後にしばらく宿泊していたパシフィックカジノホテルで、その一角になぜか「良子（Liang zi）」という看板が出ているマッサージパーラーです

従業員は全員中国語しか話せない中国人で5台のマッサージベッドと、待合室に7台のリクライニングシートがあります

しかしウィークデーということもあり、客は一人だけであとの従業員は奥の控え室にいたようです

私がハローと声をかけると、中から女性が出てきて黙ってメニューを差し出します

私が英語で首に問題があって肩がこっていると言うと、全身マッサージというところを指さしてOK？と聞き返してきました

値段をたずねると200ドル（2000円）というのでOKしました

マッサージ台は頭の部分に穴があいていて、そこに顔を落とし込んでうつぶせになります

最初は肩から始まって背中、腰、脚、足先まで時間をかけて揉みほぐしてくれます

さらに両腕が終わると仰向けになり、ここで首を前に曲げたり引っ張ったり

かなりハードなマッサージを約40分で200ドルは高くないという印象でした

 

Last night it was electricity break down again and I couldn’t do anything.

So I went out to have the massage service that I had been wanted to visit.

It was located in the part of Pacific Casino Hotel that I had stayed for a while just after arriving to Solomon Islands and its name was Liang zi.

All employees were Chinese who speak only Chinese and five massage beds and seven reclining seats available for waiting.

It was weekday and the other client was only one and other employees were standing by in the next room.

I said “hello” and a woman came out and showed me the menu without any voice.

I told that I had a problem on my neck and my both shoulders were so stiff.

She pointed out the full body massage course and asked me OK?

It was $200 (2,000yen) and I said OK.

The massage bed had the hole on the head position and I put my face into it and lied in a prone position.

Starting at shoulder and went down to the back, lumber, legs and feet.

After finishing both arms then turned to the supine position and bent the neck to front and pulled.

I impressed that two hundred Dollars for such a very hard massage of 40 minutes was reasonable.
