カスタマイズの記録です。
ところで、
50年も前のJBLのスピーカーユニットが現在のものより良いという意見があります。
当時のスピーカーユニットは小出力の真空管アンプでドライブしていましたので
周波数特性より能率重視でした。
現在のユニットは低域を求めるためにコーン紙の重量をあえて増やしています。
つまり『細工』をしているのです。
例えばJBL2235Hのコーン紙には小さな重りが接着されています・・・
現在の大パワーのアンプで鳴らすには問題ないのですが
重たいコーン紙は反応が鈍く、ハイスピードは望めません。
スピーカーのカタログに『周波数特性』の記載はありますが、
『スピード感』の記載はありません。
メーカーも周波数特性に重きを置かぜるを得ないのです。
こういった意味では50年前のスピーカーは良いスピーカーと言えるかも知れません。
では、50年前のスピーカーを良い周波数特性で再生することはできないのでしょうか？
実は簡単にできます。
そのスピーカーの特性に合ったパワーアンプを製作すれば良いのです。
今回、6000円ほどのゼンハイザーのヘッドホンを追及した訳がここにあります。
ゼンハイザーHD419は低価格が故に、『細工』されていないヘッドホンではないかと思いました。
同じ『細工』をするなら電気的に行ったほうが
はるかに簡単で細かく調整ができるのです。
カスタマイズされたヘッドホンアンプで駆動するHD419の音は予想以上に良いです!

By the way,
there is an opinion that the speaker unit of JBL of 50 years ago is
better than the present thing.
The speaker unit of those days was driven with Tsuyoshi Koide's tube amp.
Therefore, greater importance was attached than
to the frequency characteristic to efficiency.
The present unit has increased the weight of the corn, in order to calculate bass.
That is, "makeup" is carried out.
For example, weight has pasted the corn of JBL2235H.
For using it with the amplifier of the present large power,
it is satisfactory.
Heavy corn paper has a blunt reaction and is not high speed.
The catalog of a speaker has the statement of a "frequency characteristic."
However, there is no statement of "speediness."
A maker attaches importance to a frequency characteristic.
In such meanings, the speaker of 50 years ago is a good speaker.
Is the speaker of 50 years ago renewable with a good frequency characteristic?
It can do simply.
What is necessary is just to manufacture the power amplifier
corresponding to the characteristic of the speaker.
It is a reason for having studied the headphone of Sennheiser.
Isn't Sennheiser HD419 the headphone which are not "made up"?
It is easy to "make up" up electrically.
Furthermore, adjustment can be done finely.
The sound of HD419 which drives with the customized headphone amplifier is good
beyond anticipation!
