A male high school student says he does not not feel any pressure to act like a man. But he remembers he was told that a boy should not cry when he was little. He says he might feel the pressure to support and feed family when he goes out into the world. He also says this experience of swapping the uniform will be useful when he is pressured to act like a man when he become a member of society.
After exchanging the uniform, another high school student says she is now free from the stereotypical gender role.

男女の制服を交換し、「らしさ」から離れてみる――。記事で紹介した山梨県立富士北稜高校の「セクスチェンジ・デー」が１１日にあった。最も身近な常識から離れた高校生たちに、記事の感想をたずねた。
「らしさ」の意識にとらわれる男たちの姿に、３年の五味彼方（かなた）さんは「高校生の僕には『男らしさ』がプレッシャーになることはありません」。
だが、小さい時に「男の子なんだから泣かないの」と言われたことを思い出す。「社会に出たり、家族を持ったりしたら、稼ぐことや家族を養うことに責任を強く感じるようになるのかもしれません」
制服を取りかえたのは全校生徒７７０人中、女子１８２人、男子１１７人の計２９９人。体操着で登校後、制服に着替え、１日過ごした。授業の後、体育館で１０人程度に分かれ、気づいたことを話し合った。３年の羽田優さんは「女子だから男子だからこうでなきゃ、という先入観はなくなった」。
五味さんは「大人になって『らしさ』のプレッシャーにとらわれてしまう時にこそ、今日の体験が役に立つ」と語った。
