一部のアメリカ人歓喜の反応についての論評。気持はわかるが、として、やはり、超法規的な刑の執行であったことについて留意している。
わりに常識的な論評だと思うが、しかし、いまの米国の雰囲気だと、こうしたことに眼を向ける、ということはないのではないか。
というか、国際政治も今回の件の正義の面に着目するよりも政治に利用しようとしている面が強い。

けしからん話である。注目すべきは、今回の原発事故で津波にばかり注目しているが、しかし、事故は津波でなくても人災でも起きうる、ということ。スリーマイルでもチェルノブイリでも天災ではなく人災だった。
だから、原発を当分維持するにせよ、あるいは推進するにせよ、事故が起きうることを前提に原発は稼働しなくてはいけない、ということ。

これは原発ではない、米国の大気環境が悪いところがあって、、肺ガンの危険を高めたり、喘息を悪化させる危険がある、と。
日本でも同じだろうが、放射性物質は他の公害よりかなり特異な扱いを受けている。危険に見合った不安なり恐怖の限度にとどめるべきだ。

While many nations suffered from al-Qaida's terrorism and few in the world will mourn Bin Laden's death, the United States is the only place where it sparked spontaneous outpourings of raucous jubilation.
But to suggest that "justice has been done", as President Obama did on Sunday night, seems perverse. This was not justice, it was an extra-judicial execution. If you shoot a man twice in the head you do not find him guilty. You find him dead. This was revenge. And it was served very cold indeed.
Given the nature of the 9/11 attacks a popular desire for vengeance in the US is a perfectly understandable and legitimate emotional response. It is not, however, a foreign policy. And if vengeance is a comprehensible human emotion then empathy is no less so.

ABBOTTABAD, Pakistan―Pakistan said Tuesday it had "concerns and reservations" about Washington's decision to attack and kill al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden deep inside Pakistan without seeking their permission or giving forewarning.

NEW DELHI―India wants the U.S. to attach tougher conditions to the aid it provides Pakistan and to minimize Pakistan's role in the future of Afghanistan as the U.S. winds down its presence there, an Indian official said Tuesday, in the wake of the discovery that Osama bin Laden was living in a Pakistani garrison town when he was killed.
India believes that the location of bin Laden's compound, the city of Abbottabad, backs up its case that Pakistan is harboring terrorists, including those that spearheaded the Mumbai terrorist attack in November 2008, the official said.
"The epicenter―the source of all this terrorism is one country," the official said. "Pakistan certainly has a lot of explaining to do."

TOKYO (AFP) – Japan's left-leaning labour confederations on Sunday called for an end to nuclear power generation, in May Day rallies held as emergency workers toiled to bring a quake-hit nuclear plant under control.
"Let us stop the government from promoting nuclear power generation and seek a change to its energy policy," Sakuji Daikoku, head of the National Confederation of Trade Unions (Zenroren), told a rally in Tokyo.
Japan Communist Party chairman Kazuo Shii also told the gathering at Yoyogi Park: "We will strongly demand the government make up its mind to withdraw from nuclear power generation and set a programme to reduce nuclear power plants to zero."
The rally was attended by some 21,000 people, according to the confederation which claims a membership of 1.2 million workers.
Another rally held in Tokyo on Sunday, sponsored by a smaller labour confederation named Zenrokyo, also raised the nuclear issue.

東電の説明によると、事故は作業員が電源装置に誤って触れて、所内電源の供給が停止したことで起きた。原子炉は自動停止したが、外部電源への切り替えに失敗し、冷却水が送れなくなったため、水位が２メートル低下した。すぐに非常用ディーゼル発電機が起動したが、作業員が冷却装置を手動操作し、水位が回復するまで約３０分かかった。

We know the air outside is bad―the latest headlines tell us half of Americans live in regions with unhealthy ozone or particle pollution, which can be particularly risky for people with chronic lung disease or asthma. But exposure to pollution doesn’t stop when you duck indoors.
Indoor air can be polluted by mold, animal dander, pollen, tobacco smoke, radon, formaldehyde and even asbestos. Breathing in too much of some of those pollutants could increase the risk of lung cancer and may contribute to or aggravate asthma, according to the American Lung Assn

これなんかみると５号機、６号機は安定している様に報じられてますが、汚染された地下水がタービン建家にかなり入ってきていて、下手すると４号機のようになる可能性もありそうですね。
