A man who threatened an Asian woman in a "racist" incident on a bus in Aberdeen is being sought by police.
The white man made intimidating comments to the 25-year-old woman and threatened her with violence.
Grampian Police said the pair were on the number 12 bus in the Rosehill area on Saturday evening.

An attack on a house in Ballymena is being treated as a hate crime, the police have said.
Six windows of the house on the town's Doury Road were broken by stone-throwers in the attack which was discovered on Monday afternoon.
The family who live in the house are originally from Poland.

Prosecutors have filed felony hate crime charges against four teens accused of harassing a classmate.
According to charging documents, the four Maple Valley youths aged 14 to 15 had been taunting a black student, using racist slurs and yelling "white power."
Administrators at Tahoma Junior High School contacted police after the boy and a bus driver reported that the four teens had armed themselves with sticks and tried to follow the boy home in January, King County Sheriff's Office investigators said in court documents.

This year, the number of hate crimes nationwide rose to 926, a four percent increase from the year before and a staggering 54 percent higher than in 2000. The dismal truth is that while we celebrate the historic election of our first nonwhite president, racism and hate crimes are on the rise.

Carl's mother told the news that he had been threatened by classmates for six months before he took his life by hanging, and that her cries for help to his charter school had fallen on deaf ears. As reported by the Boston Channel, he was subjected to daily taunts of being called gay, having his clothes made fun of and threats of physical harm.
Carl's experience is disturbingly all too common. Kids are bullied across our country with parents and schools turning a blind eye. Estimates are as high as 30% for both the amount of kids in 6th to 10th grade being bullied and becoming bulliers.

The crime has become a growing concern in the U.S. after several high-profile incidents, including the suicide of a 13-year-old Megan Meier of Missouri after Lori Drew, a friend's mother, harassed Meier over MySpace.
"When it goes bad, it goes really bad. They feel like they have no place to go to be safe anymore," said Parry Aftab, creator of StopCyberbullying.org. "It's affecting everything in their lives, unlike regular bullying, which affects them in school or on the way to school."
Aftab said 85 percent of kids in middle school she interviewed said they've been bullied online, and 70 percent said they have been the bully.

A TEACHER at a private school was behind bars yesterday after he admitted having an affair with a pupil.
Married Peter Clayton, 56, began meeting the sixth-form girl at break times at the posh school near Ipswich, Suffolk.
The head of music began “secret trysts” and the consensual relationship carried on after she left school.
The dad of two, of Great Bentley, Essex, also sent the girl sexy texts.
He was jailed for six months at Ipswich Crown Court after admitting four charges of sex with a child in his trust.
His lawyer said: “His life is in ruins.”

Eighth-grader Savana Redding was scared and confused when an assistant principal searching for drugs ordered her out of math class, searched her backpack and then instructed an administrative aide and school nurse to conduct a strip search.
