(Thai suki)

2012-01-29 23:04:07 | Life @JAPAN

------
Tonight, i enjoyed eating "Thai suki" for the first time!

With ordinary chicken soup, lots of meat, scallops, and vegetables in it.
I loved its taste, very smooth and clear, but delicious...

Hope i can cook it at home with some recipe...

(What I'm crazy about these days.)

2012-01-28 21:31:27 | Life @JAPAN

-------
To tell the truth, I really love "Potato salada" and
that is what I'm really crazy about recently.

The other day, i cooked the one in German style (with grainy mustard)
and today, conventional Japanese one, coupled with a minced, boiled egg.

Tonight's main dish was "Boiled boston butt and cabbage with white wine."
This was cooked with "Riesling" and my recommendation is to enjoy it with
Riesling as well.

I also cooked "Beef stakes in Florence style" the other day...

Think i should be careful to eat too much...

(Pillar Rock in Rokko area)

2012-01-22 19:04:58 | Trekking

----------
The last place i have never visited in rock garden area was this one, "Pillar Rock."
To tell the truth, i just didn't know how to get there...but challenged today.

You have to go away from the starting point (Otani tea restaurant and Koza waterfall)
downward to find approach routes.
These routes are a bit difficult to find; so they are remarked as "For intermediate/experienced."
You need route finding capacity, some bouldering technique, and cleverness
to avoid getting lost even there close to Kobe citycenter.

The approach route was a bit hard to climb up, but it was really interesting,
'caz you can feel as if you were at Japan Alps area.

You can be there easily from "Kazefuki-Rock" side;
but the bottom line is "you have to get there from climbing route to become excited!"

^^ (Good combination with white wine and beer)

2012-01-21 22:19:24 | Life @JAPAN

-----------
Tonight's dinner were pot-au-feu with beef hind shank and
potato salada with octopus in Spanish style!
Loved them as they were good match with white wine!

This was the 2nd time to cook this potato salada,
tasting good in spite of its looks (maybe because it lacked paprika).
As my friends/collegues liked the last one i made,
this was really gooooood (i love potato salada)!

(Pork cutlets)

2012-01-17 22:22:20 | Life @JAPAN

--------
So tired of working late last night, going back home early today.
To make me happy, cooked pork cutlets i love!

Though i don't know how to cook it exactly (as i just found it
on the recipe book at bookstore...), it was really great with
thin coating on thick juicy pork!

Will try it again soon!

(So many people at Rokko area)

2012-01-15 23:51:07 | Trekking

-----------
Went to Rokko area to try new baselayer (cloth directly weared to the skin)
in trekking today.

Tried new route, including the famous point (rock ladder), and
found it was a bit easier to go down rock ladder than i imagined.
The problem was...i lost a bit and got tired due to that...

Anyway, there were so many trekkers at the Kazefuki rock point.
Even in winter, people seemed to enjoy trekking!

(Traditional Japanese dish !)

2012-01-14 20:04:01 | Life @JAPAN

------------
I'm Japanese, so really like Japanese dishes as much as French ones!
Of course, i cannot help tasting Japanese dishes sometimes;
so today, cooked "Buri-daikon" (Boiled yellowtail and radish with soy sauce)
and "Hijiki-no-itameni" (Boiled and stirred seaweed in Japanese style).

"Hijiki" was really good as i prepared "Kaeshi" (Special soy sauce,
containing soy sauce, sweet cooking rice wine, sugar and so on) in advance.
But "Buri-daikon" was not so good...i should have boiled it longer,
to soften radish more...(i couldn't wait till it would be ready...)

Will enjoy them tomorrow morning as well!

(Acqua Cotta)

2012-01-12 19:36:13 | Life @JAPAN

-----------
Have had a toothache since last night, so taking holiday today.

Cooked a cup of "Acqua Cotta," an Italian style soup based upon
olive oil and salt, with celery, onion, and tomato.
(Ya, this is a great dish to clean up the rest foods in refrigerator.)

You put dried bread and powdered cheese in it, so it makes you full...
To cook it delicious, i recommend you should use good olive oil!

(New recipe of great taste!)

2012-01-09 20:06:05 | Life @JAPAN

--------
I challenged to cook "Poitrine de porc braisee" (Braised back ribs of pork),
using the newly bought recipe book.

After salting pork back ribs with thyme and bay leaf for three days,
i roasted and braised it with deeply stir-fried onions, white wine and water
for about 2 hours or so!

Though it takes time to cook, but can be cooked with usual materials we can purchase!
However, it really give me a great taste!!!
I enjoyed it with a great bottle of white wine, "Chateau Mont Perat, 2007."

(First trekking in 2012!)

2012-01-09 19:41:58 | Trekking

ぐぅたら休み明けの体には少しきつかったかもしれません。^^;

---------
Today, the first trekking in this new year 2012!
Passed in about 4 hours from Ashiyagawa station in Hankyu line,
through Mt.Arechi, Ikkencyaya (a cafe around top of Mt.Rokko) and Arima hot spa.

My anxiety of lacking energy had been proved by the unusual reactions of
thighs and calves when i had got around the top of Mt.Rokko...
It might be because of the lack of sugar and water;
so i gained them, making the pain relieved a little, but...
yeah, i should have taken salt content as well...
It was a bit hard trekking for the person who relaxed and ate a lot
during new year's holidays...

At the Arima hot spa, i enjoyed sauna and hot spring at "Gin no yu!"
Ya, this is what we wanted...
