ＳＡＰＡ様変わり （Changes in SAPA）

ＧＷと言えば行楽ですが、今年は海外に行く気もなかったので、
とりあえず西へ向かってます。^^

で、三木ＳＡに立ち寄ったのですが、最近はＳＡＰＡもすっかり様変わり。
スタバが独立店舗を置いているは、ドッグランという犬の遊び場があるは。

休日にここへ来て、オープンカフェでのんびりするだけでも
なんだかよさそうな気配です（笑）。

We tend to travel during GW in Japan;
but I don't have any plans to go abroad and therefore,
I'm going west for the time being.|o|

Here Miki Service Area have totally changed its appearance;
it now has Starbuck cafe outside and a dog run space.

It may be good plan to enjoy holidays by just visiting Miki SA. |o|

プチ同窓会 (Petit Alumni Reunion)

東京出張のついでと言ってはナンですが、
前泊時にInseadの同級生と東京で会う機会がありました。

残念ながら2人ほど来れませんでしたが、意外な2人と会うことが出来、
思っていた以上に面白く、刺激にもなりましたね。
1人は消息不明で実は現在スイス在住の日本人（出張中）、
で、もう1人はキャンパス違いで会ったことはなかったけど、
今は日本で働いている韓国人。

ほんの少しの間でしたが、2人とも現在のポジションから
更に先を考えて、各自の人生をより充実したものにしようという
意気込みを見せてくれて、僕も少しテンション上がりましたね。

久しぶりに英語で会話してましたが、リスニングはまだしも、
スピーキングは以前以上に口が回らず。頑張らないと・・・^^;

In addition to staying at Tokyo on business, I met 2 Insead alumni at dinner, though 2 other guys couldn't show up due to work.

I could enjoy having dinner with one Japanese guy living in Switzerland (Nobody knows!) and one Korean lady living in Tokyo whom I've never met while Insead (but in the same promotion).

Both had strong motivation to enhance their life by proactively moving forward in their life,
motivating me up to reach higher level.

It was really fun night for me;
but speaking only in English was a little bit tough
as I don't usually have any chance to speak...^^;

Anyway, great thanks to Yoshi and Eun Jung!

フランス最終日 (Last day in France)

明日の朝早々に空港へ向かうので、今日が実質最後の日。
朝から、銀行へ行ったり、引越し荷物を送り出したり、
壊れていた車を引き取りに行ったり（この件が大変だった・・・）などなど。

ようやく開放された夕方に、ゆっくりと最後の晩餐！を
Insead関係者御馴染みのイタリアンレストラン（Pizza Pazza）で楽しみました。

その後、車の調子がいいことも相まって、
フォンテーヌブローを車で一回りしてみました。
特に、カルフールの周りの畑が広がる辺りは僕のお気に入りの場所。
車でドライブしながら眺めているうちに、友達の言葉を思い出しました。

『空の雲が絵画みたいだよね。』

そう、各地を車で旅行しているときに
友達から必ずといって聞くのがこの言葉。
その時は運転しているのもあって、
あまりよく見ることが出来なかったのですが、
今日はなんだかその意味をしみじみと感じることが出来ました。
そう、フランスって空が印象的なんですね。

いつまた来れるか分からないこの景色を
今日はしっかりと目に焼き付けておきました♪

As I will go to airport early tomorrow morning,
today was the last day for me to enjoy staying in France.
I had to do errands such as going to bank, sending my stuffs,
picking up my car and so on.

In the evening, I finally could enjoy eating last dinner
at Pizza Pazza, Italian restaurant in Fonty.

Coupled with the good response of my car,
my feeling drove me to go around Fonty after that.
I like the scernary around Carrefour near Fonty and
the beautiful view reminded me of what my friends told me before:

"The cloud looks like picture."

When I heard this phrase while we were traveling by car around,
I could not consider the phrase carefully and willingly;
however, now that I'm gonna end my stay in France,
I could FEEL the meaning of it.
Yep, the sky in France is very impressive...

This may become my last visit here,
so I tried to take a picture in my memory before leaving...

祝！卒業！ (Graduation celemony!)

旅行ネタ掲載のため遅くなりましたが、つい先日、
無事、卒業いたしました！
いやー、卒業証書を見たときはちょいと感動♪しましたね（いや、マジで）。
（P5の成績発表前なので、きちんと入っていてホッとしてたりも）

終わってみると、長かったような、短かったような・・・
クラスメイト達も既に方々へ旅立ち始めていますが、
今後も良いつながりを保てればと思っています。

Due to the updating of my personal graduation trip photos,
I can finally tell you that I HAVE GRADUATED FROM INSEAD!
When I got the diploma, I was a little impressed by what I've done so far...
(Was also a little concerned about failing to graduate...)

In hindsight, Insead life was not only long but also short...
My classmates started flying to each new destination.
We should keep in touch even after moving to all over the world!

...so, shall I continue keeping this blong or not???

カリキュラム終了！ (P5 is over!)

と言うわけで、今思えばあっという間の10ヶ月カリキュラム。
今週の水曜日のテストでとうとう終わってしまいました。

自分がどれだけビジネスマンとして成長したのかは不明ですが、
日本では味わえない経験を目一杯出来たこの1年間は
生涯忘れられないでしょうし、今後の僕の人生の糧となるでしょう。
陰で支えてくださった皆様に感謝の気持ちで一杯です。

で、テストが終わって早々、友達と一緒に南仏の旅へと出かけています。
ちょうど今、プロヴァンスはラベンダーが咲き誇っている時期で、
友達の強い希望でラベンダー畑をめぐりました。

こうして南仏の快適な気候と自然を目にすると・・・
日本に帰りたくなくなってきている今日この頃です。

So, now that 10 month's program has not been felt so long.
I've finished my all my Insead curriculum with final exam this Wednesday.

Not sure how I've grown up as a professional business person,
but this 1 year would enhance my life in the future and
I'll never forget it.
Now I'd really like to say thank you for those who have supported me so far.

Then, immediately after finishing my exam, my friend and I left Fonty
and am visiting Provence, southern part of France.
Lavender is now blooming around Provence this season,
so we visited the Lavender fields as my friend really wanted to.

The weather and nature in Provence are so nice that I would not
like to go back to Japan soon...

就職先決定 (After Insead)

えー、詳しいことはよく分からない（理解できなかった？）ので言えませんが、
とりあえず大阪へ戻ることになりました。
（ホッと胸をなでおろす・・・）

めっちゃ忙しそうな部署でもないので、そういう意味でも一安心？（油断は禁物？）
というわけで、大阪・京都の皆さん、よろしくどーぞ♪
（東京の皆さん、たまには会いましょう～♪）

I would be back to OSAKA next month!
Don't know what I do precisely, but sounded not bad...maybe...

It seemed not so busy job; in that sense, I'm happy as well.

起業シミュレーション (Entrepreneurship In Action)

もうすぐP5も終わりに近づいていますが、
全体的にのほほんと言う雰囲気の中、
一部の学生達は5日間の週末集中授業に参加しております。
まぁ、僕のそんな学生達の１人なんですが。

授業の題目は『起業シミュレーション』で、シミュレーションソフトを使って、
電気製品？のベンチャー企業を株式公開レベルまで持っていくというものです。
目的として、
・限られた時間で決断を下す
・ベンチャー企業のダイナミクス
・現金が底を突く（→倒産の危機！）
などを体験すると言うものです。

昨日も夜8時まで授業があり、今朝のプレゼンのため深夜まで居残り、
今日は朝10時から夜の8時半まで。で、明日も・・・
といった具合です。

マーケティングや組織行動論でも行いましたが、
Inseadには優れたシミュレーションソフトが多い気がします。
時に熱いディスカッションなどで衝突することもありますが、
今回はチームメンバー（セルビアx1、インドx2、エジプトx1、日本x1）にも
恵まれて笑いが絶えず、しんどいながらも楽しくやってます。

さ、あと２日頑張らないと・・・^^;

Now that our promotion is coming to the end,
everybody is not so serious for studying...
However, some people are participating in the concentrated class
held during this whole weekend (5 straight days).
I'm also the one of them.

This is "Entrepreneurship In Action."
Using simulation software, we can experience how to run a venture
business of durable products in consumer electronics.
The objectives consist of:
- Decision making within limited time
- Dynamics of venture business
- Experiencing running out of CASH (meaning the financial crisis).

We had a class yesterday from 14:00 to 20:00;
then we had to have a group work for presentation this morning till midnight.
Even so, today's class started at 10:00 through 20:30, repeating tomorrow as well...

I think that Insead offers a lot of good simulations in such as
marketing and organizational behaviour.
Although we had serious discussion so often,
we are really enjoying studying maybe because, I think,
we have great team members consisting of
- Servian x1
- Indian x2
- Egyptian x1
- Japanese (me!) x1
It's really fun!

However, I'm still in class...2 more days to go...^^;

突然の訃報 (Sudden bad news)

一応念のため言っておきますが、我が家族・親戚のことではありません。

僕は詳しくは知らないのですが、今、フォンティに通っているMBA学生のうち、
１人の方がプールでの事故で昨日お亡くなりになったようです。
私的には存じ上げない方なのであまりショックはないのですが、
やはり比較的身近で起きた出来事なので、少しは考えずにはいられません。

Inseadの仏キャンパスは車で通っている学生も多く、
少し前に飲酒運転で事故死した方もおられるそうなので、
フォンティ開始の学生は、飲酒運転禁止キャンペーンのポスター作りなどもやっています。
僕も更に気を引き締めていこうと考えているところです。

今日は正午に黙祷がささげられ、その後も亡くなった方の写真を集めたり、
名前を冠した奨学金の設立を訴えたりといった活動が行われています。
こういった精神はあまり日本では（少なくとも個人的には）見受けられなかったので、
見習わないといけないなぁと感じているところです。

亡くなった方のご冥福をお祈りします。

This is not about my family and relatives.

Although I do not know the details, but it seems that one of the participants
here at Insead Fontainebleay campus passed away due to the accident in a pool.
As I do not know him personally, I'm not so shocked;
but I cannot help thinking of this as it happend around me...

There are a lot of people who commute to Insead by car,
and we all like drinking at friend's house, school, restaurants and so on.
Some time ago, there were some people who passed away with car accidents
after drinking...
Therefore, we have a campaign to make posters
to discourage people to drive after drinking.
Now that I heard this tragic news, I'm now thinking it again...

We had a silent prayer at noon today and some students volunteered to
collect pictures and videos of him to keep his memory in our mind.
Others seem to suggest to build a scholarship in the name of him.
These kinds of activities are not so popular in Japan as far as I know.
I felt that we should learn these considerations even in Japan...

I pay my last respects...

潜在的起業力の実現 (Realizing Entrepreneurial Potential)

このブログもどうも旅行記のように最近なってきているので、
たまには真面目に勉強している（？）ところも見せないと・・・（汗）

というわけで、直訳するとなんか仰々しいですが、
先ほど、この授業（略してREP）の最終プレゼンテーションが終わりました。
簡単に説明しますと、既に売られている会社を買って企業家（起業家）に
なるためにはどうしたら良いか、企業価値の判断基準、実際の交渉について、
などなどを実際に今も手がけている講師の方から学ぶと言うものです。

ハーバードやINSEADのケース中心なんですが、講師のつての会計士や
ケースの主人公で実際に起業したり、失敗したりした方など
ゲストスピーカーも充実しており、なかなか興味深い授業でした。

でも実はこれは先期（P4）の授業で、期を通じてのプロジェクトとして
実際にある会社を買うプランを作成し、実際の資本家（VC or PE）に
プレゼンをするという大仕事が控えていたのです。
これがまた想像以上に大変で、売られている会社を探すだけでなく、
実際に接触して情報を集め、魅力的なプランを提供しないといけないのです。

うちのグループはフランス人x3、中国人x1、日本人（僕）x1のグループで、
フランスのメディアカンパニーを買うと言う設定だったのですが、
皆就職活動やら何やらでプロジェクトそっちのけ、僕は仏語さっぱり？なので
個人で進めることも出来ず、で時間は過ぎていく・・・という悪循環。
結局、2週間前くらいからこの授業を落としたら卒業できないという
メンバーが中心となって中国の会社を買うプランを作成し、
とりあえずプレゼンも終わったという状態です。。。

先学期の宿題も僕だけがほとんど全てに関わり、
プロジェクトも途中まで仕事を進めていたは僕ともう１人だけ。
最終プレゼンだけきちんと割り当てをこなしたという感じ。

この授業を通じて、グループワークにおけるチームの人選、スケジュール管理、
メンバーの動機付け、そして会社を買うということの難しさを
ちょっとハードに学んだなぁという気持ちです。

I heard that someone considered I was ONLY enjoying free time here,
I'd like to describe one of the courses I'm now taking at INSEAD.

This course, REP, is the one in P4, the previous period continuing to current period (P5).
REP is the course that offers how to become an entrepreneur by buying a company;
we learn how to evaluate the value of companies sold, how to negotiate, etc.
from the real entrepreneur who is running his own business.

Pedagogical materials are mainly based on case method using HBS and INSEAD cases.
On the other hand, we could have some lectures from real accountants and
entrepreneurs who are the main characters in the cases.

This course's biggest challenge is preparing a investment plan in which
we suggest buying a REAL company that is sold on market.
To achieve the objective, we had to search such companies, contact with
the current managements, and extract any relevant infomation to make
the attractive investment plan to present it to REAL VCs or PEs.

Our group consists of 3 French, 1 Chinese and 1 Japanese (Me!) and
we planned to find French media company.
That is, we had to rely on 3 French guys for searching, contacting, and
most of the stuffs to get information on the companies.
However, people except me have been very busy so far to find new job
and have not contributed to the project per se so much.
I, the typical Japanese, cannot speak French well and had no idea to
proceed our project while completing what I had to do including most of homeworks during the class.

As a result, we ended up in having no companies to buy 2 weeks before the deadline!
Finally, one of us could find 1 Chinese company which might be a target
and we made up our investment plan in 2 weeks, finishing presentation this morning at last...

Through taking this course, I had a definitely hard lesson about:
- the selection of team members
- how to schedule a project that requires us substantial amount of work
- how to motivate other members
and so on...

中南米ウィーク （Semana Latina）

と言うわけで、先週に引き続き、今週は中南米ウィークです。
ボサノバ演奏やカルトクイズなどが行われていますが、
今夜のラストを飾ったのは、そう、カポエラ！

手に手錠をつけられた奴隷が編み出した格闘技がルーツだそうですが、
今では逆に相手に当てると下手な証拠。
すっかりとスポーツ化されているようです。

それにしてもここフォンティにどうやらカポエラチームがいるらしく、
本格的なカポエラを間近で見ることが出来ました♪
ビデオも撮ったんですが、重すぎてYoutubeにアップできず・・・残念・・・

こういうものを体験できるのもInseadならではだと思います。^^

Following the Britain/Irish week, we have a Semana Latina this week.
Some events such as cult quiz and bossa nova concert are being held;
and the main event tonight was Capoeira show!

Capoeira has its root in the martial arts developed by slabes who
had to have their hands tied.
However, now that it has become one of the sports;
you cannot hit your feet to the others now.

One surprise was that it seems that there is a capoeira team in Fonty.
Thanks to them, we could enjoy watching REAL CAPOEIRA here at Insead.
I recorded the live capoeira, but could not upload the file on Youtube due to its size...

We can easily enjoy this kind of cultural things here at Insead.
I think this is one of the merits to come to Insead!
