Toshihiko Shibuya's works are on the overseas website

Toshihiko Shibuya is an artist lives in Sapporo,Japan,he makes and sets installaion works at museum,gallrey,Japanese style tea house,and snow plane field.
His works pieces lightning vivid colors without artificial light.

japanese artist toshihiko shibuya has used the winter climate of hokkaido, japan to create 'snow pallet', an installation currently on exhibit at sapporo art park. the long winters on the island bring lots of precipitation, covering the terrain in white.
to bring color to the landscape, shibuya has used iron disks painted in vivid colors. placing these saucers on different height supports, the hues are mirrored off the snow at various intensities. the work is in a constant dialogue with nature as the amount of snowfall, ice, and lighting conditions effect the quality of the reflection.

BOB magazine,Korean interior magazine,next issue(March 2012) will be focus on Shibuya's works.


Now,he exhibits his installation "Foerst of wind 2012" from Febraury 3rd to Feburary 5th at snowy ground in Moere Park,Sapporo,Japan.

Moere Park has strong wind because it is in the center on Ishikari plane.
We can"t see the wind ,but Shibuya's installation moved by wind ,and it visuallizes wind to us.

　きのう（2012年2月3日）からあす(5日)まで、札幌のモエレ沼公園で開かれている厳冬期のアートフェスティバル、SNOW SCAPE MOERE。
　昨年に引き続き、札幌在住の澁谷俊彦さんが雪上にインスタレーションを発表しています（「風の森　Forest of wind 2012]）。
　オブジェをいくつも雪原の上に配し、モエレの強い風を可視化するとのことです。
（※このセンテンス、2月5日に一部手直ししました)


　海外のサイトにも澁谷さんの記事が載っています。
　ここに挙げているのは、イタリアのdesignroomと、それを転載したロンドンのFashion156 です。
　言われるまで気がつきませんでしたが、筆者の撮影した写真が、名前つきで載っています。


　このほか、Chinese Fashion&art magazine<VISION> からも写真掲載の申し入れがあった由。

　う～ん。モエレ、見に行きたかった。

　この記事を書いている時点で、澁谷さんは、札幌芸術の森美術館の中庭、クロスホテル前庭にも、それぞれ別のインスタレーションを発表しております。
