Cats

Taking a walk, I saw thses cats.

The picture above was taken last week.
The cat was sitting on the roadside without doing anything.

And the picture below was taken this evening.
This cat was very big.
It was sharpening its claws on this piece of the tree.

Taking these pictures, I approached to them little by little so that they shoudn't run away.

Yuki

It's hot rather than warm these days.

My cat Yuki which hates the cold goes out to bathe the sun.
She is finer now than in cold winter.

A dog in neighboring house

This dog is kept in a house next door.

Though it is very big, it is gentle.
I suppose the kind of this dog is 'Siberian husky'.
It is called 'shu-u-cha-n'.
After walking, it bathes his forepaws in water of a bucket in summer.
It seems sensitive to heat as it is the dog in the north like the name.

They had been keeping four different kinds of dogs before, but now this is the only one left now as the others have died one after another.

So it is loved very much by his family .

The man who has goldfish is also keeping a cat and a dog.

The cat is very fat and looks strong different from my cat.

Yuki in spring

It is warm these days.

My twenty-year old cat 'Yuki' which had been in front of a fan heater for the cold winter also seems to feel the spring and wants to go out.

Though she had never been out during this winter, she went out and bathed in the sun this morning.
She came back soon because she is afraid of many strong homeless cats around here.


She is basking in the sun.

John's friend ?

My neighbor is keeping this dog named 'ku-u'
She is very gentle and perhaps never bite.
So she isn't usually leashed different from my dog 'John'.
Being always free, she must be happy!!

Homeless cats

　

I don't know if the cat in this picture is homeless or not but there are many homeless cats around here.

I see black cats, gray ones, brown ones and so on.
In spite of being homeless, they look fat and very fine.

But I felt sorry hearing the cry of a kitten from somewhere on a cold day while I was walking with a dog.
I wondered if the kitten would be frozen to death.
The next day, I felt relieved hearing the cry of it again.

From now on, they will catch and eat various living things in the nature as it is getting warmer.

They are strong!!

Cat day

Today 2/22 seems to be a 'cat day' as 2/22 is 'nyan nyan nyan'.

I saw this tortois-shell cat; mi-ke-ne-ko.

I don't know why, but I seldom see toitois-shell these days near here.


My white cat Yuki happened to be presented some canned cat-food from my friend today.
I told her that it was very cold and Yuki wasn't as fine as young cat.
To hear that, she brought them for Yuki.

By the way, is 1/11 'dog day' ?

A cat in the midwinter

Yuki

Yesterday was the coldest time of the year;(da-i-ka-n) and it was really very cold.
About 20 year-old cat, 'Yuki' is always in front of this fan heater these days.
During the night she is on the cover of the bathtub.

Though she is old, she has been fine.

But suddenly there was an emergency to her about noon on the day before yesterday.
Suddenly she cried loudly, so I went to see her soon.
Her hind legs were strange and she couldn't walk.
I was surprised and worried very much.
I thouht she might die!!
I was holding her in my arms for some time.

After an hour or so she walked and jumped up as usual.
What happened to her?

Now she is fine.

But I have to be prepared for the worst because she is very old.
Every living thing never lives forever but will die someday.

Knowing it, but I may not be able to accept it.

I hope she will live as long as possible!

A cat in winter

This white cat 'Yuki' is usually sleeping in front of the fan- heater all day in winter.

In the picture above, she is on the chair.
She looks like a 'rice cake' !!


And in this picture, she is under the chair.

Poodle

A poodle was taking a walk this afternoon.

He wears clothes like a man.
He may be a 'pet' or a 'companion animal' of his house.

Cat drinking water.

This 19 year-old cat named Yuki has a strange habit of drinking water.

Though there are lots of water in her bowl, she prefers drinking water running from the faucet.
So we must turn on and off the faucet many times a day for her!



She catches no mice or rats now.

Hello!

How are you getting along these days?
I've been fine.
It's the end of November but it's warm though it's cold a little outside at night.

Now I have just finished breakfast, but I can eat more.
I want another helping but no one will give me anything without water till supper.

My pleasure is playing with someone I like very much.
I am looking forword to thier coming.
But I don't know when they will come, so I'm going to sleep from now.
I have nothing to do but to sleep or dig the ground.

Sleepy !!

I am now 19 years old and I am always sleepy.
It is troublesome to catch a mouse , a sparrow , an insect and so on.

The most fearful things are the homelss cats walking around my house.
They are young and strong though nobody looks after them.
When they happened to see me, they pick a fight with me and I take up it.
Lastly I am beaten and hurt myself.
So I don't go out of my house at all.

Day and night, I am sleeping and sometims I get up to eat.

Mom looks after me and I am leading a very comfortable life now.

Long time no see !

How were you gettin along this hot summer?
I have been fine in spite of the heat of this summer.
Every summer season, during the day, I am taken to the place where the cool air is blowing .
So I am not as hot as the dogs in the heat.

Now a big strong typhoon no.16 is comming near again.

Farmers are afraid if the flowers of the rice-plant are fallen away by the strong wind.
It is an important time for the rice-plant now.

There seems to be more typhoons and thunders than usuall this summer.


Though I am no.2 in my families (no.1 is that old white cat.), I am afraid of the roll of the thunders very much. The big sound surprises me and I become uneasy.

But it is the end of the time when thunders roll.

It is a comfortable cool seoson soon.
