今宵は久しぶりの高田馬場GateOn。そしてチカ・シンガーさんのライブ。
チカさんと初めてお話したのがこのお店。チカさんとは同じ1961年4月生まれ（私が11日、チカさんが22日）。そして3人の息子がいることも同じ何です。ここしばらくチカさんのライブに行けていなかったので、この日を楽しみにしていました。
大震災のあとチカさん一家は、一時松山へ疎開されていたよう（アメリカに住んでいらっしゃったときにあの9.11テロに遭遇されたそうでこのような賛辞にはすごく敏感になっているそうですね）です。そして前回のこのお店でのライブの際は、突然声が出そうでいろいろ大変だったようです。
この日は、ようやく落ち着いた状態でライブができてよかったですねぇ。じっくりとその歌声に浸ることができました。1st,2ndそれぞれに梶原まり子さんが飛び入りでヴォーカルを聴かせていただく。いやいや素晴らしい。

バックのg.橋本信二さん、b.鈴木良雄さんの演奏がこれまた素晴らしく息が合っていいんだなぁ。

2ndの途中でチカさんが、おもむろに私に向けて、Birthday Songをお店の皆さんで歌ってくれました。やぁぁちょっとテレますねぇ。身内意外の方からお祝いされるのは、小学生の頃以来でいたぁ。Jazzに触れることができてよかったなぁとつくづく感じました。皆さんありがとうございます。

そうそう、4月22日(金）に銀座のヤマハホールで、チカシンガーさんの「Gei-ju（50歳のお祝い） Concert」があります。愛情出演でお父様の大橋巨泉さんも一緒に歌うようですよぉ。よろしかったら聴きにいってあげてくださいねぇ。

『大砂塵』（だいさじん、原題・英語: Johnny Guitar）は、1954年（昭和29年）製作のアメリカの西部劇。製作会社は西部劇を専門にしていたリパブリック・ピクチャーズである。原題のジョニー・ギターとは放浪する主人公（スターリング・ヘイドン）の名前だが、彼を巡る二人の女性が実質的な主人公であり、女性同士の決闘が公開当時話題となった。また、ペギー・リーが歌った主題歌『ジャニー・ギター』も世界的なヒット曲となっている。

Guys and Dolls
1950年初演のミュージカル。ブロードウェイでも、最も陽気なミュージカル・コメディの一つとして、評価の高い作品である。
1950年、ブロードウェイで作曲：フランク・レッサー、演出：ジョージ・S・カウフマン、振り付け：マイケル・キッドらにより初演され、上演回数1200回、4年のロングラン公演となった。

トニー賞では、ミュージカル作品賞をはじめ、演出賞、作詞・作曲賞、台本賞（ジョー・スワーリング/エイブ・バローズ）、振付賞、主演男優賞(ロバート・アルダ)などを受賞。 このあとブロードウェイでは、1976年にオール黒人キャスト版が、また1992年4月から1995年1月まで1143回のロングラン公演が行われている。

初演での主役の中心軸は、スカイ・マスターソンとサラ・ブラウンだが、1992年4月から1995年1月までの公演では、主役の中心軸を、ややネイサン・デトロイドとアデレイドに移した作りになっている。また、1992年4月から1995年1月までの公演ではトニー賞で、ベスト・リバイバル賞をはじめ、演出賞（ジュリー・サックス）、舞台美術賞（トニー・ウォルトン）、主演女優賞（アデレイド役のフェイス・プリンス）などを受賞している。

また、この公演は、テレビ朝日の開局35周年記念公演として、1993年9月から10月まで日生劇場において、来日公演が行われた。この時、アデレイド役として、ローナ・ロフト（ライザ・ミネリの妹）が、来日している。

日本では、宝塚歌劇団で、1984年11月から12月に宝塚歌劇70周年の記念公演として上演され、その後1993年5月には日生劇場開場30周年記念として、東宝版(タイトルは、「ガイズ&ドールズ」ではなく、「ガイズ・アンド・ドールズ」)が、2002年1月から2月には宝塚歌劇88周年記念として、再び宝塚版が上演されている。 因みに宝塚版では、初演・再演どちらも月組によって上演されている。

邦題『捧げるは愛のみ』。レビュー『1928年のブラック・バーズ』の曲。ポイントは「ウールワース」。フランク・ウールワースという人が1879年に始めた百貨店「ファイブ・アンド・テン」のことです。全ての商品が５セントか10セントで買える安売りの店。見る見る繁盛して、1913年にはニューヨークに60階建ての「ウールワース・ビル」を建てるほどになった（1930年にクライスラー・ビルができるまで、世界一高いビルだった）。この歌の歌詞は、ニューヨークの「ティファニー」の前で実際にカップルが交わしていた会話が元ネタだそうです。翌年、世界大恐慌に突入して、みんな貧乏になったので、共感を生んで大ヒットしたんだそうな。


この曲が誕生するのにはちょっとしたエピソードがありました。
場所は、ニューヨーク『ティファニー本店』。そう、あの映画『ティファニーで朝食を』でオードリー・ヘプバーンが主役を演じた有名な舞台でもあります。
そのショーウィンドゥの前で、ある若いカップルの男性の方が、彼女に向かってこういったそうです・・・。
『ねぇ、ハニー、僕には今、こんな高価なものを買えるお金はないけど、君のことをとっても愛しているよ！（Gee, honey, I can’t give you nothin’ but love）』
というようなことを言っていて、その会話をちょうど『盗み聞き（！？）』した（笑）作者の二人が、その会話にインスピレーションを得て、近くの楽器店に飛び込んで、展示してあったピアノで、一気に作曲しちゃったのだとか！
しかもその楽器店。ピアノ界のロールスロイス「スタインウェイ」のショールームだったのだとか！
ちなみに、ウールワースというのは、激安売りの百貨店の名前のことで、日本でいうところのなんとかホーテみたいなものなのでしょうか
「いつかは憧れのあのティファニーで、　君にダイアモンドのブレスレットでも　プレゼントできるように頑張るさ！」ってとこかしら？
