この歌の後シーンとした中たった一人で拍手したのが思い出。
これを聞くために代役だらけのオペラに6万円払ったんだから拍手ぐらいする。
震災直後のNHKホールは忘れられない。他の歌手がキャンセルする中、日本に来てくれて嬉しかった。

こういうのを聴いてしまうと、問題集解くとかどうでもいい、英語できなくてもいい、って思ってしまう。
人生には英語の勉強より優先したいことがたくさんありすぎるー。

How do you live?

I have found significant numbers of Japanese authors' books in several independent bookshops in London and some other cities in Britain. Only Haruki Murakami's books had been seen, but not the other Japanese authors' before the COVID-19 pandemic. Because I don't have knowledge of contemporary Japanese novels and authors, I could recognise classics novels such as The Devil's Flute Murders of Seishi Yokomizo and The Setting Sun of Osamu Dazai. I was surprised when I found 'How Do You Live?' of Genzaburo Yoshino. It was a philosophical fiction for children and it hadn't been known until recent. I wasn't impressed when I read it after I became an adult. I just wondered why this book became such popular in modern times. It was a few days ago that I was aware of a film which was influenced by the book had been screened lately.
I have been thinking why I have to learn English. I have practical reasons of it. However, I realised that the reasons haven't drove me to learn English harder. I have come to the conclusion that the motives should be linked with my lifestyle or way of living. I should identify genuine motives to learn English and therefore how I live.

ラジオを聞いてもニュース記事を読んでも英語上達に全く役に立っていないことを思い知る。

ここまで勉強しないと能力的・体質的に試験勉強というものができない学習障害者なのだと思う。
今ままでできなかったことは、今更できるはずもない。第三者の立場だったら、英語は無理、諦めろ、というに決まっている。

しかし。無理だと思っていた減量はできた。日本語ニュース/SNSの閲覧も止められた。
英語の試験勉強もやろうと思えば（←これがほぼ無理）できるんじゃないか、、という希望はもう少しだけ持ちたい。。。

英語ができないのはやっぱり嫌だ。
というか、恥辱。汚辱。不名誉。というか、転落。敗北。ゲームオーバー。

英語はもはやこの世に存在しつづけるための命綱になってしまったのだ。
もはや撤退の二文字はない。不退転。存在しつづけるために負け戦を戦い続けなければならない。

英語学習

海外旅行中は英語学習的なことがしにくい。ニュースもヘッドラインを見るくらいのことしかできない。
同行者との会話は英語だし、現地の人たちとのやりとりも英語を使うことが多いけど。学習じゃない。（現地語の旅行会話の勉強はできた）
以上、ブログが更新されていなかった理由（英語の勉強をしていなかった言い訳）。

さて、日本語で何かを調べていたらEnglish Journalのサイトが出て来た。
食わず嫌いチャレンジをしようと思って見たところ、ジャンクフードを食べたような食後感と、食あたりにあってしまった。

ジャンクフードを食べたような食後感は、やりなおし英語、みたいな記事をいくつか見た後。
クイズみたいで面白いし、学びはあるけど、教える側が基準。対象者が広いので学習の無駄が多い。

食あたりは、イギリス生活、みたいな記事。
思った通りロンドン在住。イギリスでは云々、、、と書いてあるけどイギリスじゃない。
その人の交友・文化・経済の範囲に限定される。範囲は在住年数に比例しない。

とはいえ、記事を書いた人たちは私よりも遥かに英語ができる。その点は尊敬する。

英語圏に来ると英語が全くできていないことを思い知る。日本にいるとわりとできるほうだと勘違いしてしまう。
他の日本人と比較して英語学習はしてはいけないとつくづく思う。
で、日本人を対象とした教材を使ってはいけない、ということになる。（で、ケンブリッジ英検に到達する。）

English Journalといえば、で、内田樹を検索したらこの記事が出て来た。
（前も取り上げたかも。長いので全文は一度も読んだことはないですが。）

「目標言語」と「目標文化」というのはそうだなと思う。
インバウンド人を連れて近所の店とかに行くと、「洋楽」世代のおじさん（おじいさん）たちの知識と英語力に驚く。

英語学習の効率化と金銭の制限から、英語の教材はイギリスものに限定している。
イギリスのクラシックな（60's 70's 90's）ポップカルチャーは好き。
上流階級・エスタブリッシュメントものはやっぱり面白い。さすが本場だと思う。

とはいえ「目標文化」はイギリスとも言えない。

子供の頃の目標文化は、「グローバルで活躍するビジネスエリート」だった。
グローバルが広すぎるので、あるときから欧州に限定した。それでも広すぎたのでイギリスにした。
ビジネスも外した。ビジネスの縛りから自由になりたい。なのでビジネス英語より生活感が出てくる。
「日本とイギリスで生活する中流層」（飛行機移動するので環境には悪い）

ブログで独り言を呟き壁打ちしながら、学習ニーズと学習アプローチを明確にしてきた。
このやり方は他の目標文化を持つ人とは共有できないと思う。

当該の番組を聞く限りは、この老夫婦はすごいしっかりしていて、単に間違っただけという印象ですが。
老人に優しくない、なんでもお金を取る儲け主義、みたいな話にすりかえたという感じ。

Ryanairを使う理由は、他の航空会社が飛ばない路線を飛んでるから。安い航空会社を選んだ自己責任でしょ、とは言えない。
この老夫婦もBergeracというおそらくRyanairしか飛んでいなさそうなところに飛んでます。
AirFranceとかだとパリの空港で乗り換え、しかもCDG→オルリーみたいな移動や、パリからTGV移動の可能性すらある。
直行便のRyanairを選ぶのがベスト。

今回同様なマイナーな都市への移動があったので、Ryanairを初めて使いましたが、"very confusing" なのは事実。
同行者が可能な限りのオプションをつけて全部手配して対応してくれたので助かりました。
非ヨーロッパ人は追加の手続きも必要。旅は各種リスクを想定していないと予想外の辛い思いをする。

とはいえ旅の不確実さ・リスクのパターンは無限。なので他人の失敗からも学ばせてもらわないといけない。
この老夫婦はSNSとラジオで鬱憤を晴らせたとしたら良かったと思う。老人ではないが、全く人ごとではない。
