Collinsではwould like は米語だった
Cambridgeは、Would you like..? I'd like to.とか

I wanted to stay
-> I would sooner have stayed

would sooner do it = would rather do it = would prefer to do it
Cambridgeを見るとwould rather is more commonとあった

Didn't you want me to tell...?
-> Would you rather I hadn't told...?
疑問、否定、過去、「異なる主語」の組み合わせ。無理すぎる。

would ratherの基本。「異なる主語」の場合は動詞が過去形になる。
would rather do
[same subject] I’d rather stay at home tonight.
[different subject] I’d rather you stayed at home tonight.

would rather not do
[same subject]I’d rather not go out tonight.
[different subject]I’d rather you didn’t go out tonight

今回は２箇所迷ったけど、どちらも最初に思いついた方が正解だった。迷うと間違う。

ラジオを聞いてもニュース記事を読んでも英語上達に全く役に立っていないことを思い知る。

ここまで勉強しないと能力的・体質的に試験勉強というものができない学習障害者なのだと思う。
今ままでできなかったことは、今更できるはずもない。第三者の立場だったら、英語は無理、諦めろ、というに決まっている。

しかし。無理だと思っていた減量はできた。日本語ニュース/SNSの閲覧も止められた。
英語の試験勉強もやろうと思えば（←これがほぼ無理）できるんじゃないか、、という希望はもう少しだけ持ちたい。。。

英語ができないのはやっぱり嫌だ。
というか、恥辱。汚辱。不名誉。というか、転落。敗北。ゲームオーバー。

英語はもはやこの世に存在しつづけるための命綱になってしまったのだ。
もはや撤退の二文字はない。不退転。存在しつづけるために負け戦を戦い続けなければならない。
