Japan has something of a reputation for being a nation of workaholics. Despite this, it’s right up there when it comes to national holidays with 16 days off a year. This is on top of the customary holiday at New Year and over Obon in July or August.
The highest concentration of these holidays comes at the beginning of May. Greenery Day, Showa Day, Constitutional Memorial Day and Children’s Day join forces to create Golden Week, where people leave the cities in their droves and travel prices skyrocket in the spirit of idyllic relaxation.

You were lucky in a special way. That’s what you should think. It is the duty of people who are fortunate to look after those who are not. You’re in a position to tell them “this is what you should do.”
What you lack is imagination. How do suffering people feel? Compassion for suffering stems from imagination. If you just have compassion, you’ll also have no trouble improving your interpersonal relationships.

こうした情勢に、2国間とのバランスに悩む日本。

U.S. charges of technology theft by China have placed Japan in an awkward position as it tries to balance its relations with the two powerful trading partners in considering future procurement of telecommunications equipment.
According to several government sources, Japan plans to effectively exclude products manufactured by China's Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. from government purchases by introducing new guidelines.
But it will not go on record as formally declaring that this constitutes government policy not to wreck a recent thaw in relations with Beijing, the sources said.
