外国人、特に中国人の増加に応えるため、お土産店部門の面積増を計画してきたが、、明後日の今月18日から営業に。
そこには、北海道や東京の人気の菓子類も発売。
免税品の人気は高く、中部空港では、昨年度は、前年度の売り上げの27%増の過去最高の127億円を記録した。

Tourists to have wider selection of Japanese goodies at Chubu airport
Chubu Centrair International Airport will expand its tax-free souvenir section to meet increased demand from foreign tourists for Japanese confectionery and other popular items.
Centrair Plaza will open on Sept. 18 with a floor space of 230 square meters, 1.8 times larger than the floor space of its predecessor.
Operator Central Japan International Airport Co. has been eager to enlarge the airport’s souvenir sections at the international airport terminal due a significant increase of foreign visitors, primarily from China.
“When we have many flights bound for China, the duty-free shops are packed,” an airport official said.

Sales from tax-free shops at the airport have been going strong.
They posted a record high 12.7 billion yen ($105 million) for the fiscal year that ended in March, up 27 percent from the previous fiscal year.
