Local campaigns seek to attract tourists back after curbs lifted
The central government lifted its nationwide request to refrain from traveling across prefectural borders aimed at preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus on June 19. Many local governments have started promotional campaigns targeting overnight visitors.

The Osaka prefectural and city governments began a campaign on June 19 to give points worth about 2,500 yen ($23) to travelers who stayed in the prefecture. According to the Japan Tourism Agency, the number of overnight visitors to Osaka Prefecture in March plunged by nearly 70 percent from a year earlier.

A look at rice fields in Japan
Rice is a staple in the Japanese diet, and has been cultivated domestically for over 2000 years. Approximately 8 million tons of rice is cultivated all across Japan, and Niigata is the largest rice growing prefecture, followed by Hokkaido. There are over a hundred grain varieties, and the most common one is koshihikari.

第２のトライ 男の転身

昨秋のラグビー世界選手権大会。
「ワンチーム」という言葉とともに、べスト８まで進出した日本チーム。
その激闘ぶりに、日本中は沸いた。
詳しいルールも知らなかった多くの日本人に、スポーツというのは、こういうものだと。

その中の、福岡堅樹（まだ、27歳）選手が、来年予定の五輪出場（7人制ラグビー）を辞退。
かねてより予定していた、「医者の道をめざし、大学へ」と。
”自身のけがを通じて医師になる夢を見る”、
”祖父の跡を歩む”
”ラグビーも医者もあきらめない”　・・・・・・・

コロナ騒ぎ？も、忘れそう・・・？！



Rugby: World Cup star Fukuoka gives up Olympic sevens bid
Japanese Rugby World Cup star Kenki Fukuoka will give priority to pursuing a medical career and abandon his bid to play sevens at the Tokyo Olympic Games next summer, a source said Saturday.

１年後のオリンピックに向け、主催者が提案。
合理化、簡素化で、開催を確実なものとしたいと、小池・都知事。
コロナ・ウイルスが「収束」していなければ、「中止」は、当然。
その判断時期は、今年１０月？
都民や国民の理解や賛成がなければ、五輪の意義はない、、。
そのためにも、競技会場の変更や競技種目数の減少など、、。
・・・・・
コロナ・パンデミックという、世界大戦級の中で、「平和のスポーツ式典」もないだろう、、、、
「あっさり、中止を」とは、言いにくい、、、、
来月の都知事選での再選は、確実と思っている私としては、、。

オリンピックが始まったのは、何年前？
今では、各種目ごとの国際大会も頻繁に行われ、多くの関心や人気を得ている。
昨秋のラグビー世界大会のように、、。
「参加取り消し」を申しでる国は、いつ、、、？！



Koike says 'simplified' Games may be necessary to avoid cancellation

今日から6月、一年の２分の一の最終月。
７月、８月とともに夏、の季節（ただし、北半球のみ）。
山も、その緑を濃くし、風もさわやか。
早朝の爽やかさは、今が格別、、。
今は、「コロナ、コロナ」ばかりなので、、閑話休題。

６月の花嫁は、なぜ、happy とされるか、、。
諸説があるが、6月：Juneの語源Junoは、ローマ神話の「結婚（や出産）の神」で、旦那は、Jupiter。
Jupiterは、ローマ神話の「神のなかの神」。
・・・・・・それ故に、、。

今は、結婚も様変わり、結婚すること自体も、人生の一大事ではなくなったようだ、、
一生添い続けるなんてことも、、、？
それだけに、結婚は貴重？！
