Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Mizuho consider big cutbacks in branches, staff
The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Japan's largest bank, is considering reducing the number of its domestic branches by up to 20% to boost profitability, a source familiar with the matter said Sunday.

As more Japanese lenders struggle due to extremely low interest rates, the bank, a core unit of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc, aims to trim its current network of about 480 branches and streamline its operations.

The idea is to reduce human labor and use more unmanned outlets employing digital technology, the source said.

カナダのバンクーバーから　アイスホッケーチームが来日している。
それも、シニアのアイスホッケーチーム。
カナダの「国技」とも言われるスポーツ、アイスホッケー。
１５名のメンバー中　７０歳以上が半分の７人、ほかもほとんど６０歳代、最高齢は８０歳。
そのチームをお世話する大学教授のご案内で、27日（金）京都のまちを彼ら数人を案内した。
退職後を楽しむ彼らに、いささかのうらやましさを感じながら、、、。
また、つたない英語をつかいながら、、。
それにしても、JR京都駅構内の観光案内所は、外国人でごった返していた、、。

54%の民意に どう応える

日本列島全体に大きな傷跡を残し、台風が去ろうとしている
その影響もあって、昨日の衆院総選挙（選挙区選挙）は戦後2番目に低い投票率となった。
その率、52.66％（昨夜午後11時集計）、100人のうち約48人が棄権した（2014年12月選挙に次ぐ低率）。
「18歳選挙権」での初の衆院選、雨の日曜日。
今回ほど、解散から選挙開始期間中かけての情勢予測が変化したのも珍しい？
「政権選択」が声高に叫ばれ、政権与党も野党も「まさか」と内心思っていた？
だけど、、、、。
何度選挙しようと、何が起ころうと、誰が候補者であろうと、投票する政党や候補者は生きてる限りいつも同じなんて、おもしろくもおかしくもない。
この平和な日本の姿、、、、、。




Voter turnout in general election at 54%, 2nd-lowest since WWII
TOKYO − Voter turnout in Sunday's House of Representatives election was estimated at 53.83 percent for single-seat constituencies, which would mark the second-lowest level since World War II, according to a Kyodo News tally.

The turnout calculated as of 11 p.m. Sunday was slightly up from official voter turnout of 52.66 percent for single-seat constituencies in the previous lower house election in December 2014, the postwar record low.

美智子妃「理解」 非核の”ICAN”に

今日・10月20日に83歳の誕生日を迎えられた美智子皇后が、今回のノーベル賞受賞団体ICAN（國際核兵器廃絶運動キャンペーン）に「歓迎」の言葉を述べられた。
ＩＣＡＮは、国連で採択された核兵器禁止条約を推進した非政府組織（ＮＧＯ）連合で、日本の広島・長崎の非核運動団体とも協調して、運動を続けてきた国際組織。
その、核非拡散条約を結ばないこの政府のこの国での発言。
アメリカの格の傘の中にいる複雑な、我が国の立場にも触れながらも、「それでも」と。
天皇の退位が決められたという、日本の歴史上初の大事に、この発言。
・・・核や、憲法の扱いに争点もある今の政治と総選挙、、。
・・・・自民党優勢の中で立憲民主党の躍進が予測されている。



Empress Michiko turns 83, says Nobel award to ICAN meaningful
On the occasion of her 83rd birthday Friday, Empress Michiko welcomed the award this year of the Nobel Peace Prize to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons as a meaningful development in efforts to eliminate nuclear weapons.

「ケイレツ」重視が 品質落とす？

「ケイレツ」という言葉が、日本の企業間の特長となり、そのブランドともなり、製造業と販売企業間の「品質」と「信用」という、社会や人間の最も優れた「資質」にもなっている。
しかし、、、。
その「ケイレツ」が、最近怪しくなってきた、、いや、ここ10年以上も前から怪しいものだった、と判明。
神戸製鋼のアルミ部材などの品質管理のデータが改ざんされ、国内外約500の企業にその製品が納入されている。
機械や器具となって、飛行機を初め、社会の身のまわりの鉄製品に使かわれているとのこと。
世界に羽ばたく日本の企業の「MADE　in　JAPAN」の名が、日本製品の「欠陥」と「ケイレツ」を表しているいうでは、日本「国民」が迷惑。

おそらく内部告発＞による発覚だろうが、こうした「情報公開」が「身内」から出るのは致し方ないこと。
・・・・「他でもやってる」や、非正規や外部委託や請負やという、これまでの「終身雇用」が崩れて行く世の中だから、止むを得ない、と言えば行き過ぎかカナ、、？




Kobe Steel scandal latest to expose 'Made-in-Japan' fault-lines
Under the once-vaunted "keiretsu" system of close, trust-based ties between manufacturers and suppliers, "Made-in-Japan" became a byword for industrial quality and reliability.

That reputation has eroded over recent years.

Kobe Steel is just the latest in a string of corporate scandals involving data tampering and other methods of cheating to tarnish the Japan Inc. quality stamp.

安倍の「一狂」 小池の「失望」

今回の衆院選挙の予測が各メディアで報じられ、「投票箱を空けてみれば、なんの変化もない？」との観測。
与党の勝利と野党の内部での議席配分の違いだけ？、に終わりそう、、。
結果は、安倍内閣の一強力をさらに強め、小池の希望が失望に変わるかも、、。
「狂」喜乱舞と、「失望」落胆と、、。
考えてみれば、2大政党の出現かと思わせもしたが、政治家のみの「理念や政策」で、少なくとも政治は機能しない。
それを支える事務スタッフや、シンクタンクとも呼べる「政策・裏方」が不可欠。
それが、巨大な官僚組織や、政党の事務局だろう。
党首・代表だけがいて、幹事長や代理の代表もいない政党「希望」には、もちろん、政党の事務組織(裏方）なんてないのだろう。

・・・・「国を興そうとした君は、国を滅ぼそうとする君でもある」、、という、芥川龍之介に似たような言葉があったのを思い出す。
・・・・ああ小池さん、君を泣く、君、失望するなかれ、、。



LDP gaining momentum for single-party majority
The ruling Liberal Democratic Party is taking the lead in both single-seat constituencies and the proportional representation segment of the Oct. 22 House of Representatives election, gaining momentum to win a single-party majority of 233 seats, according to Yomiuri Shimbun coverage and a nationwide survey conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Kibo no To (Party of Hope), led by Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike, is struggling to gain support from voters. It is expected to win slightly over 57 seats, the same number its candidates had held as Diet members before the official election campaign started.

不足する労働者 悩む国内企業

日本のサービス産業では深刻な人手不足。
これまで働き場への「参入」者でなかった主婦や定年退職者への、「職場復帰」の呼びかけはもちろん、賃金をアップしたり、労働条件を向上させたりと、あの手この手が続いている。
仕事場の営業時間を短くしたり、店を広げることを遅らせたりと、、人出の確保や引き留めに苦心惨憺。
この8月の失業者は、2.8％と23年ぶりの低率。
好調な経済と、働ける年齢層の縮小（減少）が原因。
働き手の過剰より、「人出不足」を課題とする企業の数は、最高の率を示している。
こうした「需給」アンバランスは、日本経済の安定成長のブレーキを踏みかねないとされる。
・・・・・政治家がいくら声高に「経済市長を！」訴えても、これだけは、足元で働く人が居なければ、、。
