春の選抜高校野球大会に続き、夏の選手権野球大会も中止。
コロナ・ウイルスの強さ、大きさを知る。
1918（大正７）年、（コメ騒動、スペイン風邪世界流行）と、1941（昭和１６）年、世界大戦）に続き３度目で戦後初となる。

日本人ほど、生まれ故郷を大切にする国民はいない、、、
自分の出生地の代表チームを、お盆の帰省先の親の元で、孫もそろっての"母校”へのエールは、日本の夏の”風物詩”、、、家族のあたたかさ、故郷のなつかしさ。

・・・・ＮＨＫの連続テレビ小説、「エール」のモデル、作曲家・古関裕而さんのこの曲、今年は聞けない、、。
しかし、この夏こそ、明るく元気に、大きな声で歌いたい。・・・・栄冠をめざし練習に明け暮れた君に「栄冠は輝く」と、、、。

　Summer high school baseball tourney called off over virus fears 
The summer National High School Baseball Championship, one of the most popular sporting events in Japan, has been canceled for the first time since the end of World War II.

The 1918 event was dropped due to mass riots around the nation triggered by escalating rice prices. The 1941 summer tournament was also cancelled due to the approaching war. The event was suspended between 1942 and 1945 during World War II.

それほど高給取りでもない彼ら？が、夜な夜な、仕事帰りにスナックや居酒屋に立ち寄ってから帰宅するのはなぜ？
ひと時でも、若い女性に囲まれる”非日常”生活への、あこがれ？
長時間労働、夜のつきあい、単身赴任、女性は「家内」など、日本特有の「働き方」が、コロナ・パンデミックで、大きく変わるか？

「コロナウイルスが、どう世界を変えるか」と。

この伝染が、アジアやアフリカの発展途上国に広がり、もし、そこに住む人たちが援助をうけられなければ、それらの国は崩壊し、世界中が混乱するであろうと、、。

Renowned historian and author of the international bestsellers "Sapiens" and "Homo Deus" Yuval Noah Harari spoke to NHK World’s Doden Aiko about how he thinks the coronavirus will shape the world.

Harari said he hopes the pandemic will end up being a once-in-a lifetime event. But he warned that the worst is yet to come. What if the virus spreads to developing countries in Asia and Africa? Harari says if these countries do not receive help, they will collapse. This would lead to destabilization that could spread throughout the world.

ゴールデンウイークって何？　って、外国人記者が改めて聞く。
いくつかの休日を集めた長めの休暇、国内や国外旅行に一斉に出かける時期、、。
それが、今年は様変わり。メッセジは、明白。
外に出るな、旅はもちろんダメ。
これを忠実に守る家族や友人たちは、今年のこの1週間に、今年のこの1週間に、何が大切かを知る？
ところで、ゴールデンウイークって、なぜ、大切なんだっけ？

What is Golden Week and why does it matter?
Golden Week is big business. A cluster of holidays that results in an extended break for most of Japan, it is also a time when huge swathes of the population embark on domestic and international vacations. But this year, due to COVID-19, Golden Week is going to be different.

The message is clear: Do not travel. For those in Japan heeding this advice, this lack of holiday time for family and friends will surely be felt. But what makes Golden Week so important anyway?

今週末から始まる「ゴールデン・ウイーク」。
だが、国家非常事態は続く模様。
5月6日の最終日を待たず、日常生活は、異常事態。
テレビも新聞も、「コロナ」いっしょく、、、。
家に居ろ、出かけるな、学校や会社に行くな、、。
買い物にも一人で、、、人に会うな、、、と。
天下泰平な？世の中だったことが、夢のよう。
終わりの見えない日々をどう過ごす？

ここ数日、ホトトギスの鳴き声に早朝の新鮮さを感じるが、鳥にとっては、巡りきた変わらぬ季節。

Japan likely to extend state of emergency after Golden Week
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his team are likely to extend the state of emergency for the coronavirus in prefectures still struggling to curb the pandemic, sources said Friday.

The emergency declaration was set to expire on May 6, when the Golden Week holidays officially end.
“The common view of experts is that it is too early for lifting the declaration,” a government source said.

夏は涼しく冬は暖かく、季節を問わず旬のものを食し、ＩＴやらＡＩとかの超便利さのなかで、飽食とゼイタクを我が物とし、、、。
自然の豊かさに気づかず、カネを稼ぐ人と為政者がエライ人とみなされ。足元を見れば、子殺しや親殺しが珍しくなくなり、、、。

いや、ひとり日本だけでなく、世界のすべての国が、今、”他と交わるな、一人で生きよ”、の試練を受けている。

感染症という幽霊が大手を振って、地球上を闊歩している。
Sars、Mers　から名を変え、 新型コロナウイルスとして。
これまでの感染症で、人類が根絶できたのは天然痘だけらしい。

被害を抑えながら、人の命を守るのは、今まで進んできた「我が道」を捨ててこそ、生きる道がある、、。





Japan urges citizens to isolate as reports warn of 400,000 COVID-19 deaths

Japan urged its citizens on Wednesday (Apr 15) to stay home, as media reports warned that as many as 400,000 of them could die of the coronavirus without urgent action, and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe came under pressure to hand out more cash.

Japan, which tests only people with symptoms of the coronavirus, has so far recorded more than 8,000 infections with nearly 200 deaths.

相手の会社の株式をそれぞれ２,０００億円分、およそ１８億ドル分取得する。
トヨタの自動運転の次世代技術と、ＮＴＴの高度な通信インフラが結びつく。
激しい競争が続く自動運転技術の開発強化や、ITを活用した街づくり「スマートシティー」の早期実用化につなげる狙い。

TOYOTA, NTT IN CAPITAL TIE-UP FOR 'SMART CITY'
Toyota Motor and the Japanese telecom giant NTT have formed a major capital tie-up.
The plan is to move things along toward developing a so-called "smart city."
The two companies will take about 200 billion yen of each other's shares next month. That's about 1.8 billion dollars.
Toyota will acquire about two percent of NTT's shares, and NTT will take nearly one percent of Toyota's.

Luxembourg makes public transport free

Everyone in Luxembourg can now travel on trains, trams and buses for free, after a government decision on March 1st.

The government of the tiny and wealthy country lifted all fees to help cut pollution and road traffic, and to support low-income workers.

Luxembourg is now the first country in the world where public transport is free. Before March 1st, an annual public transport pass cost around €440 (¥53,000).
