さまざまな団体から抗議があるものの番組変更の意向はない、と。
で、ついでに、アジア系についての固定観念を駆使した番組をいくつかあげている。

インド人男性について、受身で、子供っぽく、従順、という固定観念があるらしく、それには、イギリスの植民地主義が背景にあって、植民地主義がインド人の男性の強さと男らしさをうばったために、インド人男性は、権力関係において、去勢と敗北に苦しまなくてはならなかった、と。
この、受身、子供っぽい、従順、というのは、インド人に限らず、日本人など東アジア系についても使われる比ゆなわけで、
みたいな比ゆがアメリカ人一般にも蔓延しているわけで、ブログなんかのコメント欄なんかをみるとすぐに気づく傾向だと思う。

他の番組では、アジア人女性＝感情がない、なんていう固定観念があるらしい。
これは知らなかったが、白人にとって、有色人の痛みの表情というのは、感じ取りにくい、という心理学の実験があって、それゆえに、黒人などに残虐なことができるのだ、といった説もあるわけですね。
他の番組でも、中華系男性が中性的に、去勢された感じで描写されている、というのわけですが、おもしろいことに外人として描写されている、というわけですね。
アメリカという国は、肌の色に関しては、白色系人あり、黄色人、茶色系、黒色系とあるわけで、それぞれ、例えば、ドイツ系アメリカ人とか、中華系アメリカ人とか、メキシコ系アメリカ人とか、アフリカ系アメリカ人とかいるわけですけど、アメリカ人でも白人以外は外人っぽく扱われ続けるわけですね。
要するに、白人男性中心社会で、それ以外は外縁にいるわけですね。

それはいかがなものか、というのが記事の作者の意見なわけですが、作者とすれば、
という図式を前提として、この区別についての妥当性、不当性については問われていない。
アメリカなんかでも、外人に対する差別が、人種に対する差別に重なるところがあるので、その範囲では外人に対する異なる扱いは問題なることもあるが、しかし、外国人に対する異なる扱いは前提とされているといってよいのではないでしょうか？

威張った親、というのもアジア系に親の固定観念にあるのですね。
日本の場合、これも古めかしいイメージでしょうね。私の友人なんかでも、子供に「意味わかんねーよ」と一言言われて無視されている人がいますが、わりに典型的な父親じゃないでしょうか？
親がよくも悪くも威張れるほどの権威がなくなったことが、ひきこもりの一因でもあるわけでしょう。
支配的は母親というのは、日本韓国あたりではまだ多くいるかもしれませんね。もっとも、支配的は母親は白人のアメリカ人にもいるし、支配的でないアジア人母親もいるわけで、十羽一からげにできるものではありません。
因みに、日本では、例えば、白人や黒人は日本が下手みたいな固定観念があって、そうした固定観念を強化するCMやら、ドラマはよくあるので、注意したいものだ。

"Well, you're lucky your dads are American; my dad beat me with a math book 'til I was 16," says Veronica, an Asian American character (played by Brenda Song) on the upcoming Fox sitcom Dads. The new series (executive produced by Seth MacFarlane of Family Guy, American Dad!, and Ted fame) premieres on September 17, but it has already generated controversy for its comic portrayal of Asian Americans and the Chinese. The show focuses on two founders of a video game company, and how they deal with their intrusive fathers. Comedy supposedly ensues, some of it at the expense of Asian folk.
In the pilot episode, the main characters (played by Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi) insist that Veronica dress up like a "sexy Asian schoolgirl"―one who giggles like a Japanese teenage stereotype―in order to impress a group of Chinese investors. Chinese people are mocked and declared untrustworthy. The "Asian men have tiny dicks" stereotype is gleefully deployed. The term "Oriental" is used because…funny. And it doesn't help that Dads co-creator Alec Sulkin once tweeted, "If you wanna feel better about this earthquake in Japan, google 'Pearl Harbor death toll.'" Sulkin sent this tweet on March 11, 2011, the day a tsunami struck Japan and killed thousands. None of the victims, Japanese or otherwise, was ever implicated in the plot to bomb Americans in the 1940s. (Sulkin soon deleted the comment and apologized via tweet.)

Despite being called out by organizations such as Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA) and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation (GLAAD), Fox News has refused to consider changing or reshooting the pilot episode.

This representation of Indian males as passive, childlike, and submissive is not uncommon but is significant because of the rich colonial history behind it. During the British Raj’s rule of India, colonialism stripped away the Indian male’s strength and virility and, in turn, as Ashis Nandy stated, they suffered from “emasculation and defeat in legitimate power politics.” Nandy, in The Intimate Enemy, goes on to suggest that the British viewed many Indian males as “childlike” which included an innocence, ignorance, and passivity but with a willingness to learn masculinity and loyalty at the hands of the British

Han “Bryce” Lee is an Asian diner owner who is actually the boss of the two main characters. He is portrayed as short, asexual, and always failing to understand American culture. This contributes to the emasculation of Asian American males, and continues the “foreigner” stereotype.
他の番組でも、中華系男性が中性的に、去勢された感じで描写されている、というのわけですが、おもしろいことに外人として描写されている、というわけですね。
