A to izzard

"THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RING TWICE" で地方検事が主人公のFrankにこんな事を言います。
I think this is the last murder you'll have a hand in for some time, but if you ever try another, for God's sake leave insurance companies out of it. They'll spend five times as much as Los Angeles County will let me put into a case. They've got detectives five times as good as any I'll be able to hire. They know their stuff A to izzard, and they're right on your tail now. It means money to them. That's where you and she made your big mistake.
"A to izzard" と言う表現は初めてですが、ここは容易に "A to Z" と同じ意味だと推測できますが、 "izzard" は何か意味があるのでしょうか? まず "izzard" で辞書を見ます。
・WordNet 1.7: the 26th letter of the Roman alphabet ("He doesn't know A from izzard")
・American Heritage Dictionary: The letter z.
ETYMOLOGY:
Probably variant (perhaps influenced by lizard, and or gizzard ), of Scots ezed variant of zed
Our Living Language The curious form izzard, meaning "the letter z," sounds a lot like words such as lizard and gizzard. That's because izzard was probably modeled on them to form a humorous version of the name of the letter that appears as zed in Great Britain and ezed in Scotland. Izzard is practically limited to certain fixed regional expressions such as from A to izzard, "from beginning to end," and not to know A from izzard, "not to know even the most basic things."
