３月に入って初めてのライブは、高田馬場gate one
デコちゃんこと清水秀子さんとピアノの関根敏行さんのデュオ。
gate oneでのデコちゃんのライブは、じっくりと聴くことができ、かつ楽しいんです。
初めて聞く曲も取り入れて歌ってくれ、またまた勉強になります。 
店の階段を降りると、そのあとからデコちゃんも入ってきました。
「もうちょっとで、同伴出勤だったのにぃ・・・」だってさ。
いつもは、デコちゃんのお弟子さんがたくさん来ているのですが、この日はたまたま少なかった。
ミュージシャンの２人にお客さん２人。サシで聞くライブになりました。
私は例の怪我、もう一人の女性客は風邪気味ということで、ドリンクはソフトドリンク。ミュージシャンの２人はアルコールと不思議な感じでしたねぇ。
こんな状況で、休憩タイムは、あれこれいろいろ話が弾みました。デコちゃんと関根さんのJazzの世界の話なのですが、ふだん大友師匠から漏れ聞いている話を知っているので結構話に入っていける自分が不思議でした。
ということでこの日は、店員さん２人を含めお店に６人でまったりとライブを楽しみました。

作曲／ジョージ・ガーシュウィン George Gershwin
1927年のミュージカル"Funny Face"の挿入歌として用意された、ガーシュイン兄弟の作品でしたが、なぜか採用されなかったようです。
翌1928年ミュージカル"Rosalie（ロザリー）"で陽の目を見ました。その後’57年の映画"Funny Face"（邦題「パリの恋人」）でオードリー・ヘプバーン（Audrey Hepburn） が唄っています。

この曲は、元々1956年制作の日本未公開映画、『SCARLET HOUR』の為に書き下ろされた挿入歌でした。映画の評判はどうやらあまり芳しくなかったようですが、挿入歌の方はその後ナット・キング・コールに採り上げられ、彼の名唱に依って世に広く知られるようになります。そして、その誕生から50年以上が経った今も、多くのミュージシャンや歌手たちに演奏され、歌い継がれ、ジャズ・スタンダードとして認められるに至っています。

女性のおしゃべり。ふわふわして内容がなくて、些細なことをペチャクチャとよくまあ飽きもせず。女性たちの不思議な生態を自分語りにして歌にしています。次から次に話題が出てくる。でもこれ、一人で落ち込んでいる友だちを見つけて、それとなく話しかけている歌だと見ると、軽薄そうに見せて、最後の「あなたのことも聴かせてね」が温かい。
1965年映画『ハーロウ』の主題歌。1930年代のアイドル女優ジーン・ハーロウの生涯を描く作品。16歳で駆け落ちし、ロサンジェルスに住んでいたジーンは結婚生活も長くは続かず、職を探して映画のスタジオにいた。そのスタジオではハワード・ヒューズ監督が『地獄の天使』を撮影中。でも主演女優の訛りがひどく、たまたま居合わせたジーンが代役をすることになり・・・。26歳のとき腎臓炎を患い、宗教上の理由で治療を拒み、その短い生涯を閉じている。「ルート66」のボビー・トゥループが曲を手掛け、奥さんのジュリー・ロンドンが歌っている。

1935年ミュージカル『ジャンボ』でグロリア・グラフトンが創唱した。34万ドルも掛けて作られたミュージカルだったが、世界的な不況のため人気が出ず、５ヶ月で打ち切られている。なにしろ二つのサーカス団の抗争を描く作品でアクロバットのシーンも多く、主人公が象のジャンボくんなのでお金がかかる。「マイ・ロマンス」もこのミュージカルの曲。1962年にはドリス・デイ主演で映画化されヒットした（ドリス・デイが象なのではないよ）。

O Cantadol=歌い手....私が常々思いつづけていることに、歌手は感情を作り出してしまうと、とたんに説得力を失ってしまう....という思いがあります。楽しいパーソナリティーの人は楽しく歌を歌えるし、鬱状態にある歌手は陰鬱な歌になるし、そしてサウダージな人はサウダージを歌えるのです。そんな思いをすでに歌にした人がいます。このDory Caymmi作曲のO Cantadorは1960年代後半のそんな特殊な感情を作り出してしまいがちだった時代に発表された曲で、多くの歌手が取り上げています。独特の分数コードや不安定なSUS4コードなどを使用した、浮遊感のあるそのサウンドは、ブラジル内外を問わず歌い手に非常に人気のある曲のようで、多くの歌手が録音を残していますが、それほど騒がれることもなく、隠れた名曲の印象も強いです。
