夜、８時ごろから１０時ごろはふつうはＥＲのゴールデンアワーで、その事件が起こった日は３月２３日。春休みの真っ只中でＥＲもかなり混み合っていました。
かわいそうにこの１７歳の高校生。
妊娠２２週目に入ったところだったそうですが、母親と夜の散歩に出かけたところ、交差点でまがってきた車にはねられました。
母親は比較的軽症ですみましたが、娘のネリーは両大腿骨のひどい骨折、骨盤も骨折していて出血がひどく、おなかの赤ん坊の心臓の音はドップラーでもう聞けない状態。
ＥＲに到着後すぐに挿管され大量のＯネガティブの輸血、ＦＦＰ、直ちにＯＲへ。
明け方、受け持ちの精神病患者の評価をしてくれる調査官を待っていると、救急車のエントランスから現れた人影に、これで私ももうすぐ帰れるぞ～と喜んだのはつかの間・・・
調査官は黒いシャツに黒ズボン、そしてＭｅｄｉｃａｌ Ｅｘａｍｉｎｅｒｓのバッジをつけています。
「ＯＲはどこですか？」
その瞬間私の顔はひきつりました。
ネリーが亡くなったんだということです、ＯＲのテーブルの上で。
調査官は検死官(アメリカでは検死官は医師ではありません）だったんですね。

A pregnant teen who was hit by a car Wednesday night as she walked along a Horizon City street with her mother has died.
Horizon City police said Nelly Pizarro, 17, and her mother Blanca Pizarro, 37, were walking near Darrington Road and Nunda Street at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday when they were struck by a car turning left from Darrington onto Nunda.
Police said the driver of the car, Felipe Trevizo, 30, stopped and tried to help the mother and daughter, who were later taken to Del Sol Medical Center.
Nelly Pizarro, who was five months pregnant, died Thursday morning. Her unborn child died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Police said Nelly Pizarro was a student at Horizon High School.
Blanca Pizarro remains hospitalized in stable condition.
So far Trevizo has been charged with failure to yield the right of way, but police said they continue to investigate the accident.

ネリーと母親を搬送してきたパラメディックによると、車にひかれると思った瞬間、母親は娘を守ろうとしたのですが、まちがえて娘を車の方へ押してしまったということです。
ほんとうに母親にとってこれほど辛いことはない。
気の毒です。
ネリーとボーイフレンドは子供が生まれたら結婚する予定だったそうです。
天国で安らかに眠ってくださいね、ネリー。
