日本でも相当な（？）話題になっているみたいな、今年の凱旋門賞。
まぁ、無敗の３冠馬、世界ランク２位の日本馬が出るとなれば、
国内で盛り上がるのは当然かもしれません。
昔は自称プチ競馬ファンだった僕としては、
誘われたら断れない？ということで、
同じInseadの日本人の方と２人で
Parisまで車を飛ばして行ってきました♪
行く途中は雨模様だったので心配してましたが、
行ってみると晴れ、晴れ、晴れ
競馬場も日本の重賞レースほど混んではおらず、
欧州らしくドレスなど着飾った紳士淑女もいて、
なかなか楽しめました。^^
レース自体はあまりしっかりと見れなかったこと、
結果がご存知の通りだったこと、などから、
あまり満足できるものではなかったのですが、
まぁ、雰囲気を味わうのが目的みたいなものなので。
それにしても、日本人の多さにはびっくり！
ツアー客などが多いらしく、日本語の案内所も設置されるなど、
JRAもここぞとばかりに力を入れているようでした。

It seems that "Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe" is one of the top news in Japan.
Three crown honored without lost and this year's world ranking "2nd" horse,
Deep Impance is expected to win the race.
I understand that everybody become insane...
I used to be a good fan of horse racing in Japan,
so we, with another Japanese Insead participant, went to Paris
this afternoon by car to watch the horse racing.
On the way there, it was raining, but got better and was clear at the end.
Not so many people as in Japan, well-dressed gentlemen and ladies,
everything was good and I enjoyed the atmosphere.
The race itself was not good because I could not watch altoghether,
the result was not what we wanted, etc., etc..
OK, I expect the next challenger will win.
On the other hand, I was greatly surprised to see so many Japanese!
Some travel agencies planned tours to this race for Japanese,
and JRA, Japanese Racing Association, helped organize this event,
setting information booth for Japanese only.
I'm not such an eager fan to come from Japan all the way...
