This is a passage from "What China is doing to Uyghurs who have become Japanese" (correct title in English is unknown), which was co-authored by critic Kotaro Miura and the Japan Uyghur Association.

On Dec. 25, China's National Health Commission (NHC) revealed to have stopped publishing the numbers of daily COVID-19 new infection cases and the death.
Announcing duty was transferred to its subordinate organization, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention -- the Center released the number of infection cases.
It's emphasized that COVID-19 relevant information was provided for "reference and research."
In the situation that the "zero COVID-19" policy, which aims to thoroughly curb the spread of infections, virtually collapsed and the number of infections is rapidly increasing, grasping the reality will possibly become unclear more and more.
