It turned out that more than half of the Chinese believe that "military conflict could occur in the Taiwan Strait."
Japanese non-profit organization "Genron NGO" released the result the "18th Sino-Japanese joint public opinion survey" on Nov. 30, which was carried out with China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, "China International Publishing Group" (CIPG).

According to the survey, concerning a military conflict in the Taiwan Strait, it's compiled respectively that 56.7% of the Chinese and 44.5% of the Japanese consider that it will occur in the next few years or soon.
When it comes to impressions of counterpart countries, 87.3% of Japanese have a negative impression of China, down 3.6% from last year's survey.

62.6% of Chinese have a negative impression of Japan, down 3.5% from last year.
As reasons for having a negative impression of the other country, the Japanese cited "discomfort with China's one-party rule by the Communist Party" and "violation of territorial waters and airspace around the Senkaku Islands."
On the other hand, the Chinese expressed their "dissatisfaction with the military & economic cooperation between the U.S. and Japan."
