さて、Hit-chan、今の今までは趣味と呼べるようなものがなく生きて来た（ブログも趣味に入る？）のですが、最近、このブログでも何度か紹介しているｔように、パン作りが趣味になってきました。
So, I did have anything that I would call my hobbies for a long time (maybe I could count my blog as a hobby?), but I've been into baking breads lately and shared my baking diaries several times here too.
最近は作れるパンのレパートリーもちょっとずつ増やしていきたいなぁと思っており、お友達にリクエスト頂いたりしたのをきっかけに、新しい種類に挑戦しています。
I recently share my breads with some friends of mine at Japanese school and also like to hear what kind they would like to try next. I generally want to add more kinds of bread to my repertoire anyways, so I enjoy doing some experiments to learn new things.
でですね、先日初めてメロンパンに挑戦してみる事にしました。
The other day I tried to make one called "Melon Pan (Melon Buns)" for the first time which was one of the most popular breads in Japan.
メロンパンって実はスイートブールというパンと材料はほぼほぼ一緒でして、クッキー生地の材料の比率を変えるだけなんですねぇ。
The ingredients to make Melon-Pan is actually pretty much same as the ingredients to make Sweet Boule. The only difference between them is the ratio of the ingredients.

で、どのパンを作る時もそうなんですが、今の時代、ネットを調べれば、同じ種類のパンでも色んなレシピが出てきます。
For baking a new kind of bread, thanks to the modern technology, if you look up online, you can find all sort of different recipes to make the same kind of bread.
初めて挑戦するパンの時は、そうやって出てきたたくさんのレシピの中から気に入った物を選んで作ってみて、その結果でそのまま変更無しで次回も作る時もあったり、「あ、これはこうした方が好きかな？」と思うような部分があれば、どうすればその部分を変更できるかを、またネットで調べたりして自分好みに変えていったりもします。
When I try to bake something new, I usually pick up one recipe which looks good to me and just followed the instructions of the recipe on the 1st try. Then, if I want to change something (the flavor or texture etc...), I'd do more research and teach myself how and which part of the recipe to change through some more experiments.
話はメロンパンに戻り、今回、メロンパンの生地はいつも気に入って作っている菓子パン用の生地にし、クッキー生地の方はこちらのサイトのレシピで作る事にしました。
Okay, let me go back to Melon-Pan here. I made the dough same as what I usually used for pastry-type bread and I followed the recipe below to make the cookie part on top.
で、作ってみました。
Here they were.
出来上がり～！こっち側から見ると、綺麗に焼けているように見えますが。。。
Done! They look fine from this side, but...
反対から見ると、クッキー生地がちゃんとパン生地を覆えてない部分が。。。
you can see some bold parts from this side.
というのも、これは成形の仕方が間違っていたから。
Yeah, it's because I didn't shape the bread and cookie doughs well.
というか、成形の仕方まではちゃんと調べてなかったので、「こんなもんかな？」と自分で適当にしたら見事に間違っていたというね。(笑)
Honestly speaking, I actually didn't specifically google how to shape the bread and did the process just as I guessed, which didn't work out. LOL
本当は、この時点でちゃんとクッキー生地とパン生地を丸めておかないといけなかったんですねぇ。(笑)
You're supposed to roll the bread and cookie dough and put them together well. Hehe
でも、焼き具合は良い感じでした。
The baking time was pretty good.
早速このお人に試食をお願いしました。
Here's a judge.
結果、喜んで食べてくれました。（この時は半分にしてあげたんですが、ペロッと完食。）
Yay! She really liked it! (I just gave her the half at the time and she finished it in a minute.)
Hit-chan 自身も食べてみたんですが、これが美味しい～！！！
I also tried one, of course! It's so yummy!!!
めいにあげた半分の残りを食べた後、もっと食べたくてもう1個丸ごとペロッと食べちゃいました。
I ate the half of one that I shared with May-chan and then I grabbed another one and finished it right away. Haha.
1度に大量に作っても食べ切れないので、この時作ったクッキー生地だけを冷凍してあったので、数日後、他のパンを焼くついでに、2個だけメロンパンも作ってみました。
My family can't eat so many buns at once, so I froze the cookie dough at the time and then used them to bake just a couple of Melon-Pan a few days after.
今回は、前回失敗した成形の仕方をちゃんとYouTubeで予習をしておきました。(笑)
This time I learned how to shape the bread and cookie doughs together on YouTube beforehand. Haha.
で、こちらが2回目の作品。うん、ちゃんと綺麗なメロンパンの形にできました。
Here are the ones that I made for the 2nd time. They turned out pretty good.
材料が同じなので、1回目と同じくらい美味しくて、この時焼いた2個は翌日めいと1個ずつ食べてすぐ無くなりました。
The ingredients were exact same as I what I used for the 1st time, so they tasted as delicious as the 1st time too. May-chan and I enjoyed each of them on the next day.
ただ、めいの食べ方の癖！クッキー生地だけを剥いで先に食べて、中のパンだけを後から食べるというね。(笑)
The way that May-chan enjoyed the Melon-Pan was kind of weired. She peeled off the cookie part and ate it first and then enjoyed the inside after. Haha.
と、こんな感じで、初めて＆2回目のメロンパン作りですが、思ったよりも簡単に作る事ができました。
Anyways, this is how I tried to make Melon-Pan at home for the 1st and 2nd time. They actually turned out better than I had expected! Yay!
この週の補習校にも持って行ってお友達にも配ったんですが、「美味しかった～！！！」というお声をいただき、Hit-chanの心も甘ーく満たされました。
I baked more and gave them to my friends at Japanese school on the weekend and "They're so delicious!!" I got a great feedback from them too. By baking sweet Melon bread and shareing them with my loved ones, my heart was filled with sweet happiness too.
もうちょっと作業的に効率化したいなぁと思う部分はありますが、新たに作れるパンのレパートリーが増えて嬉しかったです。
Things went really well in the flavor wise, but I still want to make all the process more efficiently so that I can bake many at once. I'm so happy that I came to be able to make another kind of bread too.
