最後の夫婦旅行 その1 (The last trip vol.1)

Hello!



皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing?



Hit-chanは元気ですが、ここ1週間くらいでお腹が結構大きくなってきている気がします。
I'm feeling great, but I feel that my belly has got bigger and bigger in the last week or so.



仕事もあと1回を残すのみなんですが、昨日結構忙しかったので、今日の朝、体が結構疲れておりました。
I only have one more shift left at work. I worked yesterday and it was kind of busy, so my body got so sore and tired this morning.



さて、もう10月になるところで、予定日まであと2ヶ月くらいになりました。
So, it's almost October now which means it's about 2 months to our baby's due.



赤ちゃんが生まれたら家族で旅行できるまでしばらくあるかもしれないし、夫婦二人旅とは全く違ったものになるだろうと、Andyっちが9月中旬に週末旅行を計画してくれました。
After our baby's born, our life would be probably so busy and it'll take a while till we can have time to take a trip or so. Even if we're settled down enough to go on a trip, it'd be quite different from the ones we've had just with us.




この日、出発したのは朝の7時過ぎくらいかな。
On the first day, we left home around 7 in the morning.




途中、いつものお肉屋さんでビーフジャーキーやストリングチーズを購入。
On the way, we stopped by this usual butcher shop and got some beef jerkey and smoked string cheese.









で、目的地の途中にあるゴルフ場でゴルフの予約をしてありました。
Also, we stopped by this golf course. Eagle's Landing









久しぶりのゴルフ～。
I hadn't played about for a month or so.



この旅行、2週間前くらいなんですが、まだまだ半袖でもいけるくらい暖かかったです。
We took this trip about 2 weeks ago and it was still warm enough to wear T-shirt.




コースに出る前に打ちっぱなしで準備運動。
Before we started playing, we took some shots at the driving range.









Andyっちは2回目、Hit-chanは初めて回るコースでしたが、本当綺麗で素敵なコースでした。
This was the 2nd time for Andy and the 1st time for me to play at the course. It was a very pretty course.



Hit-chan、スコアも大崩れする事なく、機嫌良く回っていたんですが14ホール目でまさかのアクシデント！！！
I was playing fine and my score wasn't too awful, but I got a tragic accident on the 14th hole!!



機嫌よくスイングをした後に、右手のひらに激痛が！！
The moment I took a swing, I felt a big pain on my right palm.



刺される瞬間を見ていなかったのですが、どうも蜂に刺されたみたいです。
I didn't see exactly what happened, but probably I got stung by a bee.



刺された後、結構痛くて痺れる感じもあったので、Hit-chanはここでプレイ断念。
After I got stung, my hand felt hurt and slightly numb, so I quit playing there.



もちろん、Andyっちはめっちゃ心配してくれたのですが、幸い、アレルギー症状もなく、刺された箇所の腫れも酷くなく、残りのホール3つだけだったので、「大丈夫、ハニーがプレイするのを見てるよ。」と見学する事にしました。
Of course, Andy was so worried about me, but fortunately, I didn't have any allergic reaction and my hand didn't get swollen so much either, so I told him, "I think it's fine. I'm going to watch you play."



Andyっちも、「もし気持ちが悪くなったり、腫れが酷くなるようやったらすぐに言ってね。」と言ってくれましたが、その後特に酷くなる事もなく、無事、Andyっちもプレイを終え、そのまま宿に向かいました。
So, he said, "If you feel worse and the hand gets more swollen, just tell me." Thankfully, my hand didn't get worse at all and we headed to our hotel after Andy finished playing.



この日のスコア。14ホールの所に「蜂！」という記録が付きました。(笑)
Yeah, I marked "Bee!" on the 14th hole. Haha.



ちなみに、この蜂に刺されたのはかなりのインパクトがあったのですが、痛みも腫れもその日のうちに大分引いたので、結果的にかなり軽い症状で済みました。
Again, it was very shocking incident that I got stung by a bee, but luckily, the pain and the swell were pretty much gone later on the day.



その代わり、後々、この蜂刺されより悩まされたのが、Gnatと呼ばれるブヨ？という虫に刺された後でした。
Instead of that, what I was more bugged and bothered was Gnat bites.



この虫はゴマくらいの大きさで小さいんですが、刺された後が痒い、痒い！
They're only sesame seed size, but their bites are super itchy!!



刺されたこの日は蜂に刺されたのもあってそれ程気にもならなかったんですが、この後1週間くらい痒みに悩まされましたよ。しかも、刺された数をかぞえたら30か所以上あった。（涙）
On the day, the bee sting was too shocking for me to mind the gnats bites, but I was borthered by the itchiness about a week after that. Yeah, I actually counted the bites and they're more than 30!!!



まぁ、そういう訳で、夫婦最後の旅？、予想外のスタートになりましたが、まだまだ続きます！！！
Anyways, it was kind of dramatic start for our last trip just with us?, but it's going to be fun for the rest!!!

ロッキングチェア購入 (Rocking Chair)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?



さて、11月末の赤ちゃん誕生に向けて我が家では着々と準備を進めているんですが、いやぁ、最近かなり散財しております。
So, Andy and I have been working on getting things ready to welcome our baby at the end of November, but it also means that we've spent a lot of money lately.



ここ数ヶ月で大きな買い物を2つし、3つ目ももうすぐ購入しそうなので、ここに記録しておきたいと思います。
In the last couple of months, we purchased 2 big things and we'll probably buy another big thing soon as well, so I want to record it here.



1か月前くらいかな、に購入した第一の大きな買い物はこちらです。
This is the first big thing which we bought about a month ago.




アメリカでは結構有名なベッドブランドです。（画像拝借元）

このベッド、右半分と左半分で固さを調節できるので、AndyっちとHit-chanのように体格が違う夫婦には持ってこいなのです。
You can adjust the firmness of the mattress on each half side, so for a couple like us whose body sizes are so different, it's really helpful.



もともと、ゲストルームにはシングルベッドしかなくて、いずれはダブルベッドを入れたいと思っていたのですが、今回母が日本から来てくれるのを機に、私達が使っていたダブルベッドをゲストルームに移動し、このスリープナンバーのベッドをマスターベッドルーム用に購入したのです。
The guest bedroom had a single bed and I'd always wanted to change it to a double bed sometime. This year, my mom in Japan is coming to help up to take care of our baby, so we finally decided to move our old double bed to the guest bedroom and purchase a new bed for the master bedroom.



本当、今まで、Andyっちが気に入った固さのマットレスだとHit-chanは柔らかすぎ、Hit-chanの気に入った固さだとAndyっちは柔らかすぎと、色々試行錯誤していたので、こうやって個々に調節できるベッドを手に入れる事ができて本当に嬉しいです。
Until now, we had such a hard time to make the old bed comfortable to both of us since the firmness Andy liked was too soft to me and the firmness I liked was too hard for Andy. So, I'm so happy that we finally could get this bed which we can personally adjust the firmness.



購入後すぐは、2人とも気に入る固さを見つけるまで何日かかかりましたが、最近はそれも分かって前よりも心地良い眠りを手に入れる事ができています。
Right after we got the bed, we took some days to find our own perfect levels, but we've got the comfortable setting and been able to sleep better these days.



ただ、利率0％とはいえ、また新たなローンが増えました。（汗）
The finance was 0% interest, but we still got another loan.



で、このスリープナンバーを買った数週間後、ロッキングチェアを買いに行きました。
And a couple of weeks after we bought the bed, we bought a rocking chair next.



このロッキングチェアの購入に至っては、Andyっちのママの薦めもあり、赤ちゃんが生まれた後に役に立つとの事で買う事を決めました。
For buying a rocking chair, Andy's mom recommended to buy one since she really liked to use it when she was taking care of her babies.



Hit-chanはロッキングチェアなんてものは馴染みなく育ったので、あまり必要性があるのか分からなかったんですが、Andyっちが赤ちゃんのお守りの際にもぜひとも欲しいとの事でした。
To be honest, I've never owned a rocking chair in my life and I'm not sure how great it was yet, but Andy really wanted it for when our baby's born.



最初、ネットで色々見ていたんですが、こういうものって実際座ってみないと何とも言えないので、「やっぱり、ちゃんとお店に行って座ってみてから決めよう。」となったのです。
We first started checking some stores online, but honestly, I had no idea which one would be the best before I actually try to sit on it. So, we ended up saying, "Let's go to a real store and try to sit on real chairs!"




この日、Andyっちの仕事終わりに待ち合わせして家具屋さんで合流。
On that day, we met up at the furniture store after Andy's work.



めっちゃ色んな種類がある。
Wow, they have so many chairs!




とりあえず、片っ端から座ってみる。
We just tried to sit on every single one.








本当にいっぱい種類があるんですが、やっぱり体格が大きく違う私達二人ともが気に入るものって3つくらいしかありませんでした。
They really had so many kinds of chairs, but there were only a few which we both liked.



やっぱり、実際に見たり座ったりしてみないと分からない部分って大きいです。
After all, you never know which one is the best until you really sit on it.



で、これも結構大きな買い物なので、とりあえず落ち着いて考える為に、一度お店を後にしてご飯を食べに行く事にしました。
Yeah, this is another big shopping, so we once left the store and grab a dinner first.














ここでも、Andyっちはノートパソコンで違うお店のロッキングチェアをチェック。
Andy was checking another store online.

He got this.




Hit-chanはフィッシュ＆チップス　（これが結構美味しかった！）
I got this. It was actually pretty good!



レストランでもう一度考えた結果、やっぱり今日お店で見て実際に座って気に入ったものを買おうという結論に至りました。
We reconsidered the big shopping at the restaurant again and reached the conclusion which we definitely should buy one we actually tried to sit on and liked at the store.




決めたのはこちらのロッキングチェア。
This is the one.



Andyっちの強い希望で、生地を革に変えてもらう事になりました。
Andy really wanted to have a leather one, so we asked them to customized it with leather.



このチェアの方はまだ届いておりませんが、今から楽しみです！これから、赤ちゃんとの思い出がたくさんできるのかな？
The chair hasn't been delivered yet, but we both are very excited. I think, we're going to make a lot of memories with our baby and the chair from now.



こんな風に、最近、この2つの大きな出費以外にもなんやかんやで色々とお金が出て行ってちょっと怖いんですが、新しい生活に向けての必要経費だと思って納得しておきたいと思います。
Like the 2 big purchases that I just talked about, we've been still spending a lot recently. It makes me a little nervous and scared, but I'll try to convince myself that it's necessary for our new life.

ステイトフェア2日目 その3(State Fair 2018 again, vol.3)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?



さて、今日でフェア関連の記事は終わります！
Okay, this is the last article about the fair.



色んなアートビルディングでたくさんの素敵な絵や作品を見た後は、こちらの建物に。。。
After Andy and I enjoyed a lot of great art works in the art building, we walked into this building.




ここは、色んな会社がブースを立てて、色んな宣伝をしている建物です。
In this building, there were a lot of companies booths.



Andyっちがちょっと寄っていきたいと言ったので、入る事に。
Andy wanted to stop by here.




Andyっちが話を聞きたかったのはこちらの会社。
He wanted to ask some questions at this booth.



浄水器を販売している会社で、我が家は井戸から水を引いているので一応大きな浄水器があるのですが、定期的に軟水塩？って呼ばれるの塩を買って浄水器に補充しないといけないのです。
They're water system company. We actually get water from the well and have a water filter in the basement, but we have to fill bunch of water softener frequently.



Hit-chanがお風呂ラブなので結構な水を使うのですが、この軟水塩を買って補充するのは費用的にも労力的にも結構かかるので、Andyっちが大きな浄水システムにどんなものがあるのかを知りたがっていたのですねぇ。
I'm a huge bath lover and use much water daily, so it costs much money and work to fill water softener in the water filter. That's why Andy wanted to know what other options we could take for a better solution.



受付のお姉さんに話を聞いて、とりあえず、後日セールスのおっちゃんに家に来てもらって、我が家に必要なシステムがどれくらいの値段になるか見てもらうことになりました。
At the booth, he talked to the lady and they ended up coming to our house later to see what kind of system would be the best for us and how much it would cost for it.



フェアはこんな風に何か大きな買い物をしたりする時に、色んな会社がブースを出していてフェア特別価格というセールもやっていたりするので、とっても便利です。
Like this, you can talk to people from a certain company especially when you're thinking to buy something big and get helpful information too. Most of the time, they have a special fair deal as well.



で、この後は。。。
After that...




コーン再び。
I got corn again.



安定の旨さ。
Yup, it's tasty as always.



そして、この日もゲームセンター。
We played at the arcade too.



この日は全然調子が出なかった～。でも面白かった～。
I couldn't be better than the last time. It was super fun though.




この日も他の子に交じって遊びました。(笑)
Yeah, we played among other young kids on that day again. haha




さて、2日目のこの日も朝一から遊んでいるので、午後に入って疲れてきたので、買える準備がてらお土産を買いに行きました。
On this day, we were hanging out at the fair ground from the earl morning, I started to get tired in the early afternoon. So, before we headed out to go back home, we got something to bring home.




こちら、フェアで売り上げ1位のスイートマーサズクッキー。
This is the bestselling food at the fair, Sweet Martha's cookie.



1番大きいサイズだと蓋つき容器に入れてくれるので、お土産になります。
The biggest one comes in a container with a cover so that you can take it back home easily.



何か、今年値上がりしてました。昨年は確か$14だったのに、今年は$17だったかな。高いクッキーですな。(笑)
I think the price got raised from $14 to $17. Yeah, they're expensive cookies. Haha.


あと、こちらもフェアフード定番の。。。
This is also one of the most popular fair foods.



ミニドーナツ。こちらではフェアマネーが使えました。（ラッキー）
Mini donuts!! I could use the fair money at this stand. (Lucky!)



もちろん、もうお腹は一杯だったので、クッキーもミニドーナツも家に持って帰りました！
Of course, both Andy and I couldn't eat more, so we took the cookies and mini donuts back home.



で、最後に恒例の帰る時の混み具合写真。
At last, I took another traditional photo at the fair, the one when we're leaving.




今年は初日よりも人が少なかったです。
That day was not as busy as the first day.

ステイトフェア2日目 その2 (State Fair 2018 again, vol.2)

Hi there!



皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going today?



こちらミネソタ、かなり秋らしくなってきまして、一雨ごとに涼しくなってきています。
Here in MN, it's pretty much in fall now. Every time it rains, it gets cooler.



さて、あっという間に9月ももう終わりですが、今日もステイトフェアに行った時の様子を書いていきたいと思います。
Time flies and it's already at the end of September, so I want to finish writing about the state fair today.



前回の記事で書いたように、お馬さんコンテストを観賞した後、ようやく食べ物の出店が開き始めたので朝食を取る事にしました。
On the last article, Andy and I enjoyed the minature horse contest. Then, it's time that most of the food stands started opening, so we went to grab something for breakfast.




Andyっちの朝ご飯はこちら。
Andy's breakfast was from this stand.



こちらはソーセージの出店で、昨年初めて食べてみてすごく美味しかったので「今年もまた食べよう！」と言っていたのです。
This is a sausage stand and we actually treid their sausages last year and loevd them! So, we were saying, "We definitely should eat them this year again!"




Andyっちが選んだのはピリ辛のソーセージ。
Andy chose this. I forgot the name, but it's a spicy one.



昨年も同じのを食べたんですが、今年のは昨年よりもよりピリ辛でした。でも、美味しかった～！
We ate the same one last year, but this year's one tasted more spicy! It was tasty anyways!




Hit-chanはフェアマネーが使えたこちらの出店。
Since I could use the fair money here, so I got their corn dog.




アメリカンドック。衣がそれ程厚くなかったので、とっても食べやすかったです。
The dough was not too thick and I really liked it.



フェアと言えば、食べたら歩いて観る、観たらまた食べるというサイクルなので、朝ご飯食べた後はHit-chanが行きたかったこちら。
Speaking of the fair, you're mostly in the cycle of "eat and walk" and "walk and eat", so after we ate the breakfast, we walked to this building.




Miracle Of Birth Centerという所です。

この建物もフェアの定番なんですが、この中には出産が近い色んな種類の動物がいて、運が良ければその出産の瞬間に立ち会う事ができるのです。
This building is also one of the you-must-see things at the fair and there are a lot of pregnant animals waiting for their babys to be born. If you're lucky, you can witness the precious moment of their labor.




羊さんのお母さんと赤ちゃん。生後数時間だったかな。

ニワトリさんと玉子たち。

こちらは今まさに生まれたばかりの子牛さんで、皆立ち上がる瞬間を見守っていました。もちろん、立ち上がった時には拍手が湧きました。
This was exactly a newborn cow and everywas wating the moment of his first stand. Of course, we gave him a big applause when he finally could stand on his feet.



Hit-chan自身、お腹に赤ちゃんがいるので、頑張っているお母さん達に「何だか仲間だよね～。」と変な親近感を持ってしまいました。
I'm pregnant now, so I felt some sympathy with them like "We're in the same team!" haha.



さて、ちょっと歩いたので。。。
We walked some more, so...




Andyっちはこちら。ビールは外せないよね。
Andy got this beer.



嬉しそう。(笑)
He looks so happy!




Hit-chanはずっと興味があったこちら。
I got this.




ギリシャ料理かな。Gyroという食べ物。綴りからすると、ギロって読みたくなるけど、Gは発音しないらしく、イロって言うんだって。
It's Gyro. I'd never tried it. I even didn't know that you didn't have to pronounce the first G.



中味はお肉とトマト、玉ねぎとサワークリームが挟まっていて、とってもサッパリしてて美味しかったんだけど、何せボリュームが凄くて、食べきれなかったよ。（フェアあるある。）
They put the meat, tomato, onion and probably sour cream inside the pita bread. It was very tasty, but I couldn't finish it since it's a lot of volumn.



で、食べた後に行ったのはこちら。
After it, we went to this building.




確か、Education buildingとArt buildingだったかな。ここも初めて行きました。
Education building and Art building, we went there for the first time too.




中はこんな感じで、たくさんの絵やアート作品でいっぱいです。
Inside the building was like this and there were so many drawings, pictures and other art works.




それにしても、ほんま皆絵が上手い～！！！
I was just so impressed by their talents. There are so many great artists in the world!



一応、審査されて最優秀賞とかありましたが、Hit-chan、やっぱり芸術には順位はつけられないなぁと思いました。
They actually judged the art works, but to me, every single work was just amazing and couldn't be something to compare.




という事で、今日のところはこの辺で。フェア関連はあと1回で終わります！！

ステイトフェア2日目 その１ (State Fair 2018 again, vol.1)

Hello there!



皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?



Hit-chanですが、あと1週間くらいで仕事は終わるのですが、その代わり、もうすぐ検診が週1回にになったり、出産する病院の見学や両親教室に行ったり、ベビーシャワーが3回あったりと、思った以上に予定が一杯になってきて、「大丈夫かなぁ。」とちょっとドキドキしています。
Me? I'm going to leave my work in a week or so, but instead of that, my schedule is alerady packed with weekly check-ups for our baby, hospital tour, prenatal classes and 3 baby showers now. It's more than I expected and kind of overwhelming at this point, but I'm very thrilled.



お腹も段々大きくなってきて、「まだまだ動ける間に掃除しちゃわなくちゃ！」と今のうちの頑張りたいと思います。
My belly has got bigger, so I'm thinking to do all the cleaning while I can move fine.



さて、今日は今年2回行ったステイトフェアの2日目の様子を書いていきたいと思います。
Anyways, I still have tons of pictures from the state fair since we went there twice this year, so I want to share them here today.




この日もいつもと同じく、朝早めに家を出ました。
On that day, Andy and I left home in the early morning as always.









到着～！まだまだ人は少ないです。
We're here!! Yeah, it's still so empty there.

そうそう、今回はフェアが始まる前にAndyっちが仕事の取引先からフェアのチケットと、フェアで使える金券をいただきました。
Oh yeah, Andy actually got 4 free tickets and some fair money from his work vendor this year.




フェア8回目のHit-chanですが、このフェアマネーは初めて見ました。
This was my-8th-time fair, but I'd never known about the fair money.



このフェアマネー、いただいて凄く有難いのですが、注意すべきなのはこのマネーが使えるお店が決まっている事です。
I really appreciated the fair money, but the only heads-up is you can use it only at the certain shops and food stands.




で、朝一のコーヒーとAndyっちのミルクをこのカフェでゲット。
I wanted to get a cup of coffee and Andy wanted milk, so we got them here.



まだまだ朝が早くて空いているお店が少ないので、とりあえずいろんな会社の展示を見て周ることにしました。
It was still very early in the morning and not so many shops were open yet, so we decided just to walk around the fair ground.




車好きなAndyっちはFordの展示を楽しんでました。
Of course, Andy stopped by one of the car vendors, Ford this time.




家の庭のデザインをする会社の展示では、「あ～、こんなのが庭にあったら良いねぇ。」と将来に向けてのアイデアを膨らませました。
At this garden design company, they had the fancy stone fire pit. Someday, I want to have it in our yard too.



あと、ブラブラ歩いてたら、こんなのを発見。
When we were walking around, we found this funny little house.




スパム小屋？
Yeah, it's a SPAM house.



まだ開いてはいなかったんですが、中を覗いてみると。。。
It's not open yeat, but I sneaked to see the inside.




すっごい一杯の種類のスパムが並んでいました。
Yeah, they had so so many kinds of SPAM there.



この時並んでいた種類は、テリヤキ味、ホット＆スパイシー味、ガーリック味、ヒッコリー燻製味、ハラペーニョ味、ベーコン味、ターキー味、チョリソー味、チーズ味、黒コショウ味、Tocino（スペインベーコン）味、ポルトガルソーセージ味で全部でした。
Teriyaki, Hot&Spicy, garlic, Hickory Smoke, Jalapeno, Bacon, Turkey, Chorizo, Cheese, Black Pepper, Tocino and Portuguese Sausage.



全く聞いたことのない味もいっぱいあって、新鮮でした。
I'd never heard about most of the kinds, so it was something new and good to know.




普段、全くスパムは使わないHit-chanですが、ちょっと興味が湧きました。ちなみに、Andyっちはスパム、あんまり好きじゃないんだって。(笑)
To be honest, I don't use SPAM for my coocking, but it was very interesting to know that they had so many kinds of flavor. BTW, Andy said he's not a huge fan of SPAM.



で、Hit-chanが好きなお馬さんコンテストが始まる時間になったので、それを見に行く事に。
Then, it was the starting time for a horse contest, so we headed to the Coliseum.




会場内はカメラNGになったので、外でちょっとだけ撮らせてもらいました。
Camera wasn't allowed inside the Coliseum, so I took this outside.



フェア中、お馬さんのコンテストは、障害越え、カウボーイスタイルとか色々な種類があるのですが、この日はHit-chanが一番好きなミニチュアホース（ポニー）のコンテストでした。
During the fair, there were some different kinds of horse contests like bars, Cowboy style etc... and my very favorite is minature horse one!!




こちらはネットでお借りした写真ですが、こんな感じでキッズも参加しており、めちゃ可愛いのです。（画像拝借元）
I borrowed this pic online, but I especially like the one that kids ride on minature horses. That's so cute!




という訳で、まだまだ続きますので、今日はこの辺で～！！！
