初・永久歯＆歯医者さん (May-chan's 1st permanent tooth & dentist)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going today? 

 

 

 

今日は一旦一ひとり帰国日記を置いといて、我が家の日常をお送りしたいと思います。
So, let me put my Japan diaries aside and share our daily life today. 

 

 

 

さて、タイトルの通りですが、4月の中旬に家族全員揃って歯医者さんに行ってきました。
Just as the title says, all 3 of us went to dentist in the middle of April. 

 

 

 

実は我が家、最後に歯医者さんに定期検診に行ったのはパンデミック前。
To be honest with you, it was the first time for us to go to the dentist for a regular check-up and cleaning since before the pandemic. 

 

 

 

めいちゃんの初日本vol.8 (May-chan's 1st Japan Trip 8) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

この記事に少し書いているんですが、最後に行ったのは2020年の1月末だったみたいです。
I wrote a little bit about the last appointment on this article and it said that it was the end of January in 2020. Wow. 

 

 

 

それ以来、忙しい毎日＆怠惰な性格で予約を取らずにおり、4月に入ってようやく「行かなあかんなぁ～。」と、やっとこさ行動に移しました。
Since then, due to my busy life and lazy nature, I hadn't done any check-ups, but finally I took an action this April. 

 

 

 

めいはHit-chanが最後に歯医者に行った時に一緒に連れて行って、「歯医者さんってこんな所よ。」という感じでツアーをしてもらったのですが、その時はギャン泣きで終わりました。（その時は3歳になってすぐぐらいですね。）
On my last appointment, I took May-chan with me and they gave her a quick introduction tour to show her, "The dentist office is like this!" but she ended up just crying so hard at that time.  (She just turned 3 then.)

 

 

 

でも今回はもう5歳。
Now, she's 5 and a big girl. 

 

 

 

最近はお医者さんごっこ、歯医者さんごっこをするのが大好きなので、「めいちゃん、明日マミーとダディとめいちゃんで一緒に歯医者さん行くよ。」と言ったら、「え、本当！楽しみー！！」と喜んでいました。
She recently loves playing pretending to be a doctor or dentist, so when I told her, "Tomorrow, May-chan, Daddy, Mommy and May-chan are going to a dentist together!", "Really!! I can't wait!!" she was super excited. 

 

 

そして、歯医者さんの予約を入れたタイミングが結構良くて、めいさん、ここ何週間か前に、最初の永久歯が生えて来たんです！
It was actually a good timing for her to go to the dentist since she got her 1st permanent tooth coming in a couple of weeks before. 

 

 

 

ただ、乳歯がグラグラしていないのに、その内側から生えてきているので、一応先生に診てもらいたかったんです。
Though, the baby tooth still sat there firmly, so we wanted the dentist to check if it's fine or not. 

 

 

 

５ヶ月になりました。 (Happy 5months old!) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

ちなみに、めいさん、生後5ヶ月になる2日前に最初の歯が生えて来たんですが、今回の永久歯もやはり、最初に乳歯が生えた場所から生えてきました。人間の体って不思議～！
BTW, the 1st permanent tooth was coming in on the same spot where May-chan got her 1st baby tooth at the age of 5 months, which amazed me! Human bodies are full of wonders!!

 

 

 

予約の日、最初にHit-chanが一人で歯医者さんに行き、クリーニング＆検診をしていました。そして、その途中、Andyっちとめいがやってきました。
For the appointment day, I first went to the dentist office by myself for my check-up and cleaning and while I was being taken cared of, May-chan and Andy came in too. 

 

 

 

Hit-chanがまだ椅子に横になってクリーニングをしてもらっている間、隣の部屋からAndyっちとめいの声が聞こえてきて、「めい、どうやろうなぁ？」と思いながら聞き耳を立てていました。
While I was in the reclining chair and being cleaned my teeth, I heard Andy & May-chan's voices from the next room, which made me wonder, "How's she doing?"  and I was trying to listen to what they're doing. 

 

 

 

最初の方は調子良くやっていたみたいですが、やはり、途中のクリーニングで口の中に水や歯磨き粉のようなペーストが塗られると気持ち悪かったようで、めいの「うわぁぁ。」という声や、Andyっちの「めい、口開けて！」という声も聞こえてきました。(笑)
May-chan was doing well in the beginning, but in the middle of her cleaning, she was so borthered by having the cleaning equipments or rinsing water into the mouth. So, I could hear her saying, "Ahhh....!!!" or Andy saying, "May! Open your mouth!!" LOL

 

 

 

丁度その頃、Hit-chanのクリーニングが終わったので隣の部屋に行くと、歯科助手さんがクリーニングをしてくれていたのですが、めいが顔をしかめて、「I don't like it!!」と言って、口を開けるのを拒否。
（めいさん、歯磨き粉の味にも結構好き嫌いがあるので、もしかするとクリーニング用のペーストの味が嫌いだったのかもしれません。）
My cleaning was just done around the time and went to the next door. I saw that the dental assistant was trying to clean May-chan's teeth, but May-chan was yelling, "I don't like it!!" and  kept her mouth shut.  
(She's actually very picky about flavors of tooth paste in general, so I assume that she didn't like the flavor of the paste for cleaning.)

 

 

 

我が家が行っている歯医者さんは家族フレンドリー。
Anyways, the dentist office was very family friendly. 

 

 

 

なので、めいの様子を見て気を利かせた歯科助手さんが、「オッケー、今日はもうやめよう！！もうおしまい！」と言ってすぐにやめてくれました。
So, the assistant lady quickly stopped what she was trying to do and told May-chan, "Okay, I'll stop it. It's all done for today!!"

 

 

もちろん、虫歯の治療などだったら途中でやめる事はできませんが、今回はクリーニングだったという事、初めての本格的な歯医者さんだったという事で、無理にやらせるよりも、歯医者さんに対して嫌な印象を残さないようにとの配慮だったと思います。（Hit-chanも良い判断だったなぁと思っています。）
Of course, if it was treating a cavity or something, they couldn't stop the operation in the middle, but this time was just cleaning and check-up and also the very first time for May-chan, so she probably thought that it'd be better for May-chan to finish there than leaving the dentist with a bad impression.  (Which I appreciated.) 

 

 

 

その後、先生に歯をチェックしてもらい、問題なし！（永久歯の部分も心配する必要はないとの事でした。）
After the noisy cleaning, May-chan had the dentist check her teeth and there's no problem! 
(She said that we wouldn't have to worry about the spot where the new tooth was coming in.)

 

 

で、ここからがめちゃくちゃアメリカンスタイル。
Then,  the last part of the appointment was a very American style. 

 

 

歯科助手さんがめいのクリーニングを終えた時に、「今日はとっても頑張ったから、ご褒美がもらえるコインを持ってくるね！」と、めいに2枚の金色のコインを持って来てくれました。
"You did such a great job today, so I'll get tokens for you so that you can get a prize!" the dental assistant said to May-chan and brought 2 golden coins. 

 

 

そのコインで通路に置いてあるガチャガチャを2回する事ができました。
At the aisle to the exist, they had this capsule toy machines and May-chan could get 2 prizes there. 

 

 

 

言うまでも無いですが、めいさんは出て来たおもちゃに大興奮しておりました。
Needless to say, but May-chan was super excited by the little toys she got. 

 

 

 

こんな感じで、めいの本格的な歯医者さんの定期検診は「歯医者さんなんて嫌だ！」とならなかったので、まずまずの出来だったのかなぁと思います。
Okay, this is how May-chan went through her very first dentist appointment. At least she didn't say, "I won't go to the dentist again!" or something, so I think that it went well overall. 

 

 

 

次の予約は6ヶ月後。この先の6ヶ月でどれくらい成長してくれるでしょうか？
Our next appointments are in 6 months. Let's see how much May-chan will grop up in the next 6 months.

めい画伯作品2023 (Artist May's works in 2023)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your winter life going? 

 

 

 

さて、先日我が家のめいさんが5歳になったと書きました。
Well, our lovely daughter, May-chan, turned 5 in November and I shared an article about her BD here too. 

 

 

めいちゃん5歳の誕生日・前半 (May-chan's 5th Birthday 1/2) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

 

 

我が家のめいさん、小さい頃からお絵描きが大好きでこのブログでもちょこちょこ紹介してきました。
May-chan's into making art projects since she was younger and I have shared her works a couple of times on my blog as well.

めい画伯、写真に目覚める (Artist May-chan is now into taking photos) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

 

 

5歳になってもアート絵の情熱は冷めず、最近は絵よりも工作に面白さを見出しているようで、毎日何かしら作って遊んでいます。
She's now 5 and still passionate about art and recently more into making craft stuff than just drawing. She makes something literally every single day.  

 

 

そこで、今日は折角なのでめい画伯が製作した作品をご紹介したいと思います。
So, let me introduce some of her recent works here again. 

 

 

大好きな人への絵の贈り物はよくしてくれます。これはダディへ。
She draws or makes something for someone she loves. This was for Daddy. 

 

 

これもダディに。ちゃんとダディキャップ被ってる。
This one was also for Daddy. He's wearing a cap just as he always does. 

 

 

これはグランマが来た時にグランマに描いた作品。グランマとはよく一緒に絵を描いています。
This was for Grandma. They draw together every time they get together. 

 

 

これはいつも持ち歩いているぬいぐるみのペンギンちゃん。
This one was for Penguin-chan, her favorite stuffed animal. 

 

 

イベントがあると、それにちなんだ作品も。これはハロウィン。
May-chan loves making seasonal stuff too. Obviously, she made this for Halloween. 

 

 

これはドラえもんにハマっていた時の作品。
When she was into Draemon, a Japanese cartoon, she drew him. 

 

 

グランマ、マミー＆めいさん。一番右のめいさん、お気に入りのワンピースを着ています。グランマもちゃんと眼鏡してます。
Grandma, Mommy and May-chan. The one on the right is May-chan in one of her favorite summer dresses. Grandma's wearing her glasses too. 

 

 

こちらは電車好きのお友達、みっちゃんを想って描いた作品。カラフルな電車と線路が良いですねぇ。
This one was a colorful train for one of her friends, Mit-chan, who loves trains. 

 

 

ある日急にインスパイアされて作ったリース。
One day May-chan suddenly got inspired by something and made this wreath. 

 

 

 

ただ、2日後に雨が降って終了。でもめい画伯はあまり気にしてませんでした。
Althouth, we got some rain, which destroyed the work, 2 days after we put it up on the door. May-chan didn't care about it at all though. 

 

 

よく真似る事から学ぶと言いますが、この日はこの可愛いメモ帳のネコちゃんを真似て描いていました。
May-chan loves copying something she likes too. She really liked the kitty on the note and copied it. 

 

 

 

そして、その後は自分でアレンジを加えて虹色ネコちゃんを。
Then, she drew another one and arranged it to the rainbow kitty. 

 

 

前から鉄板で好きなのは蝶々。我が家にあるオレンジ色のジョウロも加えて。
One of her long-time favorites is butterflies. She drew our orange watering can too. 

 

 

宇宙にハマっていた時の作品。
One time she was really into space and drew the Earth and Sun. 

 

 

で、現在絶賛ハマり中の妖怪。YouTubeでは妖怪関連のものばっかり観ています。
Now, she love Japanese classic monsters called Youkai and drew them. 

 

 

最初に最近は工作に情熱を傾けているとお話したのですが、その中からHit-chanが感心した作品を一品ご紹介したいと思います。
I mentioned that she's recently more into making craft works than just drawing and let me show you a couple of ones which made me impressed.  

 

 

 

それがこちら。何？って感じだと思うのですが、これ、ガソリンスタンドのパンプ。(笑)
I know, I know. You are like, "What is this??" This is actually a gas pump at gas station. Haha. 

適当にあった箱をそのまま加工しているので分かりにくいかもしれませんが、下の黄色い四角がボタンで、右上からホースが出ていて、ちゃんとパンプの先を入れる穴まで再現されています。
She randomly picked up a box and used it as it was, but the yellow squares are bottuns and the red paper string is a hose and nozzle. Yup, she made a hole to hold the nozzle too. 

 

 

一緒にガソリンスタンドに行った時に多分刺激を受けたんでしょうね。
She got the inspiration when we went to a gas station together. 

 

 

 

この看板も作って、おもちゃの車でガソリンを入れる遊びをしています。
She made a sign saying "Gas Station" and played pretending to fuel her toy car. 

 

 

と、こんな感じでこの一年も文字通り毎日創作活動を続けているめい画伯。
Again, May-chan makes something literally every single day 365 days a year. 

 

 

 

何かを閃いた時に創作活動へ全集中している姿はある意味羨ましかったりします。
When she got an inspiration, she can be very concentrated on making the work, which I'm kind of jealous about. 

 

 

最近はYouTubeの影響でごっこ遊びが好きなんですが、おもちゃを買わなくても何でも再現したい物は自分で作ってしまうので、そこも良いなぁと思っています。
She loves playing to pretend doctors, fire fighters and many other things, which she takes interest from YouTube, but she can make anything she want to use depending of the situations such as stethoscope, medicines or credit cards etc...So, I really like that we don't have to buy her those toys. 

 

 

という訳で、めい画伯2023年に作った作品の一部を紹介させていただきました！
Okay, let me end this here today. I shared some of May-chan's art works made in 2023!

めいちゃん5歳の誕生日・後半 (May-chan's 5th Birthday 2/2)

Hello everyone!

 

 

 

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today? 

 

 

 

さて、我が家の一人娘、めいさんの5歳の誕生日後編をお届けします。
Okay, let me share the rest of May-chan's 5th birthday today. 

 

 

 

大成功のケーキの後はプレゼントタイム！
After the big success of the cake time, it's a present time!

 

 

今年はグランパ＆グランマ、日本のかおるちゃん（Hit-chanの母）や私達からだけでなく、お友達からもたくさん頂きました。（幸せ者過ぎるでしょ！）
What a lucky and spoiled girl!! She got lots of presents not only from Grandpa&Grandma, Kaoru-chan (my mom in Japan) and us but also many of her friends. 

 

 

当日一緒にお祝いできなかったグランパ＆グランマからは一足先にパジャマや宇宙のパズルなど。
Since Grandpa&Grandma couldn't come over our house on May-chan's BD, they gave her presents a couple of days before. Christmas themed pajamas, puzzle of space and more. 

 

 

かおるちゃん（Hit-chanの母）からはSOUSOUの服。可愛い～！
From Kaoru-chan (my mom and May-chan's other grandma in Japan), a couple of cute clothes of the brand in Kyoto named SOUSOU! Cute!

 

 

新米ミネソタンさんから、宇宙やサイエンス関連の本や文房具。
From R-san, a couple of books about science and a stationary set themed space. 

 

 

 

仲良くさせてもらってるOファミリーからは自分でアクセサリーが出来るおもちゃ。
A craft set for handmaking sparkling accessories from the O family. 

 

 

 

そして、私達からはカード。パウパトロールのカードはめいが誕生日より随分前に買い物を一緒にしてる際に「欲しい！」と言った時に買っておいたもの。思い返せば、これが私達からめいへの初めてのメッセージカードだと思います。
From us, a Paw Patrol card which May-chan had picked up herself at Target way before her BD. I think that it was the first card with messages from us to May-chan. 

 

 

 

プレゼントは最近めちゃくちゃハマっている妖怪の本を始め、パウパトロールのDVDやサイエンスの本でした。
We gave her a set of Paw Patrol DVDs, scuience book and picture book of Japanese monsters called Youkai. 

 

 

 

誕生日の翌日にはこのブログを通して知り合ったmashuさんからアンパンマンの帽子、ネックウォーマー、タオルを頂きました！
From Mashu-san who I became friends through this blog, Anpanman's hat, neck warmer and towels!!

 

 

この他にも同じプリスクールに通う同じ誕生日のお友達から、当日サプライズのプレゼントでアナ雪のアナちゃんのお人形をもらったりしました。
Besides that, one of May-chan's preschool friends whose BD was same as May-chan's got a surprise present too! She picked up a Anna's doll ("Frozen") for May-chan and May-chan fell in love it!

 

 

昨年のクラスでも一緒で、お誕生日が同じだという事は知っていたのにこちらからは何もせずにめちゃくちゃ申し訳なかったんですけど、ご両親が「これは全てE（娘ちゃん）のアイデアやから、全然気にしんといて～！」と仰ってくださいました。（感謝）
The friend and May-chan were in the same class last year as well. I felt so bad and told her parents I was sorry for not getting anything for her daughter even though I had known that they had the same BD. Then, they kindly and generously told me, "It's 100% E's (their daughter) idea, so don't worry about it!!" (Big thanks!)

 

 

翌日も今年の夏におうち幼稚園をしていたあーちゃん家族にも一緒にお祝いしてもらいました。
Even on the next day after May-chan's BD, we're invited by May-chan's best friend, A-chan's family who did home school together last summer. 

 

 

宇宙関連の絵本を頂きました！
They also got May-chan a space related book!

 

 

と、こんな感じでめいさんの5歳の誕生日、もう誕生日の意味もしっかり理解しており、朝も「お誕生日おめでとう～♪」と歌って起こした瞬間から、「今日はぼく（何故か一人称がたまに僕）の誕生日？？」と言って嬉しそうにしていました。
In the morning of her BD, I woke her up singing, "Happy Birthday!!" and she woke up saying, "Is today my birthday??" with a big smile on her face. She's now big wnough to really understood what birthday meant as well. 

 

 

その後も当日は学校2つを梯子する日だったので、行く先、行く先で「Happy Birthday！！」と言われて、その日一日は本当に幸せそうに過ごしていたので、親としては嬉しい限りでした。
On her birthday, she went to 2 different schools in the morning and in the afternoon, so it was kind of nice that she received a lot of "Happy Birthday!!" from her friends and teachers. She really seemd to have one of the happiest days in her life, which made me extremely happy too. 

 

 

 

我が家のめいさん、無事に5歳を迎える事ができました。
Cheese!!

 

 

最近は中々言う事を聞かない事も多いですが、心根は優しい人に育ってくれているので、このまま元気に楽しく生きて行って欲しいなぁと思っています。
She's been more insurbodinate and often not listened to us, but Andy and I both are very happy to see her growing up to a very sweet girl so far. All I hope is that she's going to keep growing up healthy and enjoy her life.  

 

 

という訳で、めいさん5歳の誕生日の様子でした！今日も読んで下さってありがとうございました！！！

めいちゃん5歳の誕生日・前半 (May-chan's 5th Birthday 1/2)

Hello there!

 

 

 

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going today? 

 

 

さて、先日は我が愛する旦那様、Andyっちの誕生日について書きました。
The other day I wrote about my loving husband, Andy's birthday here. 

 

 

Andyっち44歳の誕生日 (Andy's 44th Birthday) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

 

 

その15日後の11月30日は我が愛する娘、めいさんの5歳の誕生日でした。
November 30th which was only 15 days after Andy's birthday, it was our loving daughter, May-chan's 5th birthday. 

 

 

 

我が家の場合、Andyっちの誕生日、感謝祭、クリスマスツリー狩り、めいさんの誕生日、クリスマス、元日＆ママの誕生日、Hit-chanの誕生日と、11月中旬から1月初旬までイベント盛りだくさんになっております。
Andy's BD, Thanksgiving, Christmas tree hunt, May-chan's BD, Christmas, New year's day & Mom's BD and my BD... my family is always busy for those family events from the middle of November through January. 

 

 

そんな忙しい年の瀬にあるめいさんの誕生日、ディナーは簡単にマクドナルド。めいさんも喜ぶし、Hit-chanも楽だし、一石二鳥ですわ。
（好きな食べ物がお餅とかなので、腕によりをかけてご飯作る意味があんまりないのでね。）
May-chan's BD is close to the holiday season which is already hectic itself, so I chose Mcdonald's for her BD dinner this year. May-chan loves it and I don't have to cook. Kill two birds with one stone. 
(I'd love to cook if she loves eating in general, but what she likes is very simple like mochi or white rice, so it doesn't make sense to me to cook something big for her.)

 

 

その代わりと言っては何ですが、ケーキは毎年手作りしており、その年その年にめいさんが好きなキャラクターをテーマにしており、今までにひよこ、ノンタン、アンパンマンと作ってきました。
Instead of nice food, I handmake her BD cake every year and put her favorite characters of the year on top of it. In the past, I made a chick, Nontan (Japanese cartoon character) and Anpanman (Japanese cartoon character). 

 

 

そして今年、めいさんの流行を探っていく中で候補が3個。鉄板のパウパトロールのマーシャル、ちょっと前までハマッていたドラえもん、そして最近急上昇してきたピカチュウ。
This year I'd been researching her interests and got these 3 characters on the list. The most favorite one was Marshall from Paw Patrol, but she was really into Doraemom a little before and then Pikachu was newly coming up too. 

 

 

 

正直作る側からいえば、シンプルなドラえもんやピカチュウだと有難いんですが、どうも本人の様子を見ているとパウパトロールのマーシャルが本命。
In all honesty as a cake maker, Doraemon or Pikachu woule be more simple and easier to make, but as her mother, Marshall seemed to be always the winner. 

 

 

 

誕生日が近づくにつれてそろそろキャラクターを決定しないといけないとなり、もう本人に何が良いか聞いてみようと思い、「めいちゃん、お誕生日のケーキ、マーシャルかドラえもんかピカチュウ、どれが良い？」聞いてみると、
When it's getting closer to her BD, I couldn't decide what to make for her, so "May-chan, what do you want on your BD cake, Marshall, Doraemon or Pikachu??" I ended up asking her straight.

 

 

 

「マーシャル！！」と食い気味に答えが返ってきました。
（分かってたんだけどね。作るのがね、一番大変そうなのよ。）
Without any hesitation, "Marshall!!!" she gave me a quick and clear answer. (Yeah, I knew it, but you know, Marshall was the most challenging to make...)

 

 

で、母ちゃん、感謝祭の前からコツコツ夜なべをして完成させたケーキがこちら。
Oh well, to make my lovely daughter's wish come true, I started working on the cake even before Thanksgiving. And, here it is!!

Since I took a lot of passion and time making it, so let me show you pictures of all the characters here.

頑張った甲斐がありまして、めちゃくちゃ喜んでくれました。とりあえず作ったキャラ全部分かってくれたので良かった！
The birthday girl was super excited for the cake, which made my day!! I'm glad that she recognized all the characters right away. 

 

 

 

ハッピーバースデーを歌ってロウソクふう～！
We sang the Happy BD song and she blew out the candle. 

 

 

 

このケーキに関して、パウパトロールにして欲しいという希望の他にもう一つバースデーガールからリクエストがありました。
About this BD cake, she made another request besides Paw Patrow themed, which was...

 

 

 

それは、半分をチョコレート、半分を生クリームにして欲しいとの事。
the half was chocolate and the other half was vanilla cream. 

 

 

めいさんからのオリジナルリクエストでは左右で半分半分と言われていましたが、流石にそれは大変過ぎるので上下で半分半分という事で譲歩してもらいました。(笑)
Her original request was making it left half and right half, which was super complicated to make, so I asked her to compromise to make it top half and bottom half insted. Haha. 

 

 

 

味も合格点頂きました！
She gave me a thumbs-up for the taste too!

 

 

もちろん、マーシャルのクッキーもパクリ！流石に一回で食べ切れなかったので数日に分けて食べました。
Of course, she didn't forget to take a big bite the Marshall cookie. It was too big for her to finish at once, so she enjoyed it for the next couple of days. 

 

 

と、ここからまだ長くなりそうなので、とりあえず今日のところはこの辺で終わりたいと思います。
Okay, her BD story still continues from here, but let me finish at this point for today. 

 

 

 

この先、毎年めいさんが何に興味を持って、何をケーキにしたいのか、そこから成長の過程が見られるので今から楽しみであります。
（ただ、いつまでHit-chanが作れるのかは分かりませんが。笑）
In the future I'm very curious what May-chan will be interested in and what she wants on her BD cake every year and look forward to seeing her growth from her BD cakes too. 
(I don't know how many more cakes I can handmake for her though. Haha.) 

 

 

 

とりあえず、めいさんの5歳の誕生日ケーキ部門は大成功だったので、母ちゃんが頑張った甲斐がありました。
Anways, her 5th BD cake turned out to be very successful, which was worth my time and effort.

秋の遠足 (Field Trip 2023)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going? 

 

 

これを書いている10月24日午後1時45分現在、インターネットが切れてしまい、この記事は携帯のホットスポットを使って書いています。
As of Oct. 24th 1:45pm,  the internet connection is dead and I'm writing this article by using my phone hot spot. 

 

 

何か、ミネソタに住んでいる中で、日本にいた頃よりも頻繁に停電したりインターネットの接続が切れたりしている気がします。
I don't know why, but I've been feeling to happen to electric or internet outage more often here in MN than when I used to live in MN. 

 

 

ネットでの情報によると、今回インターネットが切れたのはどうもダウンタウン辺りのケーブルが切断されたらしいです。
According to some comments online, it sounds like that a cable in Metro area was severed and all the areas around have been affected by that. 

 

 

昔はネットを使わず生活していたというのに、もうネット無しでは生きてはいけないようになってしまったと実感させられております。
You know what, we used to live so fine without internet a couple of decades ago, but can't live without it at all now. 

 

 

さて、今日は9月の終わりに行ってきた親子遠足の様子をお伝えしたいと思います。
So today, let me talk about the field trip which May-chan and I took in the late of September. 

 

 

今年の遠足も昨年度初めて行った遠足と全く同じ場所、行程で開催されました。
The destination of the trip was same as the one where we went to last year and the schedule was also pretty much same as well. 

 

 

 

初めての遠足 (First Field Trip!) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

今年度も昨年度行ったりんご農園へ。子供一人につき付き添い一人までOKで、子供は参加料無料、付き添いの大人は一人12ドルでした。
The destination was the same apple orchard as last year. Only one adult could go along with their kid. The fee for kids was free and for adults was $12 per person. 

 

 

今年も普段の授業開始とほぼ同じ時間に学校近くのPark&Rideの駐車場に集合。
※Park&Rideというのは、駐車場付きのバス停で、車でバス停まで行って、そこからバスに乗る事が出来る場所です。
May-chan and I drove to a Park&Ride parking near the school a little after noon. 

 

 

そこからスクールバスに乗って出発！！
Then, we got on a school bus from there and headed to the apple orchard!

 

 

昨年度はHit-chanもめいも黄色いスクールバスに乗るのは初体験で、親子ワクワクはしゃぎながら乗ったのを覚えています。
Last year it was the first time for both May-chan and me to get on a yellow school bus and I remembered that we both were so excited. 

 

 

 

今年もスクールバスに乗ってテンション上げ上げ！ただ、昨年と違って「全員座れるの？！」っていうくらいの乗車率でした。
May-chan was super excited for the bus ride as much as last year, but unlike last year, I was a little bit worried if everybody could have a seat since the bus was fully packed.

 

 

無事、目的地のりんご農園に着いて、ここからもほぼほぼ昨年と一緒。
We safely got to the apple orchard and took a tractor cargo ride also mostly same as last year. 

 

 

 

トラクターに引かれた荷車？に乗って、とうもろこしやカボチャ、農機具などの説明を聞きながら、農園を一周しました。
The tractor drove us around the orchard and the staff gave us some lectures about corns, pumpkins and agriculture equipments. 

 

 

 

農園ツアーの後は、動物達とのふれあい。可愛い小鳥さんを触らせてもらって、動物好きのめいさん大興奮！
After the tractor tour, we had some to pet cute animals. May-chan was super happy to hold the cute chick with her hands. 

 

 

 

ヤギさんにも無料で餌やりができました。他にも豚さんとかもいました。
We could feed the animals, mostly goats, for free. There were pigs too. 

 

 

 

ヤギさん、りんごよりもトウモロコシの皮の方を好んで食べていました。
The goats seemd to love the corn husks more than the apples.  

 

 

そして、めいさん、この後結構大きめのヤギさんに指を噛まれてしまい、「アウ～！」とアメリカ人っぽい反応をして痛がっていましたが、幸い甘噛みで血も出てないし、跡も付いていなかったので、すぐに機嫌を直しました。（良かった。）
Althouth May-chan enjoyed feeding the goats, "Ow!!" she accidentally got her finger bitten by a big goat. Thankfully, no bleeding or marks, she fixed her mood in a few moments. (Phew!) 

 

 

その後は昨年乗った赤い汽車に乗る予定だったのですが、マシントラブルで一時運行中止。
The kids were supposed to ride on the red train just as last year, but the machine trouble occured right before our turn. 

 

 

 

なので、その後にやる予定だった牛さんの乗り物を先に乗る事に。
So, we skipped the red train and took this cow ride. 

 

 

乗り物も大好きなめいさん、めちゃくちゃテンション上がっておりました。
May-chan loves rides, so she's super excited here again. 

 

 

その後も赤い汽車は直ってなかったので、代わりにこちらをする事に。。。
After the cow ride, the red train was still in maintenance, so we instead did this. 

 

 

巨大なバウンサー。大きな風船みたいな遊具です。
This huge bouncer. It's like a huge balloon. 

 

 

想像するに、毎年このりんご農園と遠足の契約みたいなのをしていて、ツアー＆乗り物いくつかがパックになっているんだと思います。
I assume that May-chan's school and this apple orchard make a deal for field trips every fall, so a couple of these rides were included in the deal. 

 

 

なので、個人で来た場合は乗り物とか遊具それぞれに料金を払わなければいけません。
So, if you go there privately, you need to pay the fee for each ride or attraction. 

 

 

 

このバウンサーでは子供達大はしゃぎ！文字通り休みなくずーっとジャンプしたり動きまわっておりました。
BTW, all the kids were hyper on the bouncer. Literally, they kept jumping and moving on it for a while. 

 

 

昨年の遠足では最後に売店に行く時間が少しあったのですが、今年は汽車の故障もあって予定が狂ったのか、いつが自由時間なのかが分かりませんでした。
Last year we had some free time to browse the shop or walk around the farm, but I couldn't tell exactly when was free time this year since the schedule was a little bit changed due to the cancellation of the red train. 

 

 

今振り返ると、このバウンサーで遊んでいる時間に売店に行ってりんごを買ったり、屋台でミニドーナツとか買いに行けたと思うのですが、特に指示が無かったので、ずっとバウンサーの所で待機していました。
When I think back now, while the kids were jumping on the bouncer, I could have walked around and even got some mini donuts or something at the food stand. Though, I was just sitting for the entire time by the boucer becuase I didn't hear any guides there. 

 

 

10分程子供達がひたすらバウンサーでジャンプしている姿を見ていたら、「バスに戻るよ～！」という指示が。
After I watched the kids jumping on the bouncer about 10 mins or so, I heard the teachers calling us, "We're going back to the bus!!"

 

 

この時点でやっと、「あ、もう帰るんや～。自由時間って今やったんやなぁ。」と気づきました。(笑)
At the point, "Oh, we're going home now. I guess I missed the entire free time." I noticed. LOL

 

 

ただ、Hit-chan、子供達が10分程跳んでいるのを眺めているだけで疲れてしまい、帰る時間だと聞いて正直ホッとしました。
Still, I was already very exhansted from watching the kids jumping for 10 mins, so I got relieved to hear that we're going back home. 

 

 

来年からはめいさんは義務教育のキンダーに入るんですが、遠足って親も同伴可なのかな？
May-chan's going to start kindergarten next year, but can I go along with her on a field trip??

 

 

とりあえず、こうやって親子一緒に遠足に行ける機会なんて限られていると思うので、今年も2人で楽しい時間が過ごせて良かったです。
Whether or not, I believe that there are not going to be a lot of chances that May-chan and I can go on field trips together, so I'm gald that we had a fun and awesome time this year again. 

 

 

あと、遠足に参加した事で、めいさんのクラスメートの名前と顔が大分一致したので、そういう意味でも有意義な一日になりました。
Also, I could match most of May-chan's friends faces and names on the field trip, so it was also a very meaningful day to me too.
