Though the two films debuted almost exactly a year apart, as far as production was concerned, they were treated as one enormous project. Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who had worked on all three Captain America films, as well as Thor: The Dark World, were hired to write both scripts and began working in late 2015. Pre-production started for both films in the spring of 2016, with principle photography beginning in January of 2017. In post-production, Infinity War received more than 2,900 visual effects,28 while Endgame used more than 3,000.
  映画は『インフィニティ・ウォー』が2018年４月、『エンドゲーム』が2019年４月と両者は１年の時間を置かれて公開されたが、制作はひとつの巨大プロジェクトとして進行した。脚本は『シビル・ウォー／キャプテン・アメリカ』を含む「キャプテン・アメリカ」映画３本と、『マイティ・ソー／ダーク・ワールド』（2013）を担当したクリストファー・マルクス（1970～　）とスティーヴン・マクフィーリー（1969～　）のペアに依頼し、ふたりはすでに２０１５年末から執筆にかかった。『インフィニティ・ウォー』『エンドゲーム』とも2016年の春から制作準備に入り、主要な撮影は2017年の１月に開始された。ポスト・プロダクションで使われた視覚効果は『インフィニティ・ウォー』で2900、『エンドゲーム』では3000にものぼった。

　ここではphotographyは「映画撮影 (cinematography)」（リーダーズ）の意味で使われている。
