2023年は9冊の翻訳書が刊行できた。
2024年は現時点で6冊刊行予定ですでに4冊の翻訳を上げているが、それ以外の2冊は早急に訳了しなければならず、大晦日も正月も翻訳を進める予定。
今はDouglas Wolk, All of the Marvels: An Amazing Voyage into Marvel’s Universe and 27,000 Superhero Comics(2022)の訳を精力的に進めている。
2023年最後のGetUpEnglishは、本書を一部紹介する。

For the four years leading up to “Dark Reign,” the Bendis-written New Avengers had been Marvel’s bestselling ongoing title and a focal point for stories whose effect rippled out to the rest of the line. 「ダーク・レイン」スタートまでの4年間、ブライアン・マイケル・ベンディス原作の『ニューアベンジャーズ』シリーズはマーベル・ナンバーワンの売り上げを維持し、周辺タイトルにも影響をおよぼした。だが、ストーリーにおいて善悪の転換が成立したことで、その後のストーリー展開や表現方法にも変化がもたらされた。いかにも2009年の「ダーク・レイン」シリーズにおいて、悪人集団の『ダーク・アベンジャーズ』が、ヒーローたちの『ニューアベンジャーズ』から主役の座を奪い取ったのだ。
a focal point: 焦点、活動［関心］の中心。ここでは『ニューアベンジャーズ』を指しているので、「『ニューアベンジャーズ』が活動の中心」ということだが、状況から判断して試訳くらいでよいかも。
established orders: 確立された秩序。ここでは「善と悪」をさしていることは明らかなので、そのように訳してよい。
the “Dark Reign” year: 「ダーク・レイン」の年、隆盛期はほぼ2008年末から2009年を通じて続いた。したがって、「『ダーク・レイン』の年」は2009年を指すのが一般的。
“Dark Reign”（暗黒の統治）シリーズではスパイダーマンの悪役として知られるノーマン・オスボーンがある事件で大衆の支持をつかみ、トニー・スターク／アイアンマンを失脚させて、アベンジャーズを壊滅状態に追いこみ、自分は自身のチーム、サンダーボルトを発展させて、新たに〝アベンジャーズ〟（ダーク・アベンジャーズ）を立ち上げるのだ（もちろん、われらがアベンジャーズは復活する）。
『ダーク・アベンジャーズ』はマーベル・コミックの奥深さを感じさせるシリーズで、これを基に映画が作られたら、かなりすごいものになると思う。
Marvel Unlimited（https://www.marvel.com/unlimited）でコミックが読めるので、実際にコミックを読んで確認しながら訳している。
2024年最初の仕事として、早めに訳了したい。

Chat GPTに描いてもらったイラストに（わたしをイメージしたイラストではないことは明らかです）、英語を付けてみました。

英語を読んで訳すことはもちろん、英語を聴いて話すことも、英語を書くことも、日本語から英語にすることも大好きな永遠の英語学習者ですが、使って下さる皆さん、そして誰もよりも大変ありがたいとに本を読んでくださる皆さんに心より感謝いたします。

日本文学の英訳～坂口安吾を訳す
わたしは永遠の英語学習者であり、今も英語は修業中であるが、本当にありがたいことにさまざまな出版社から英日翻訳の仕事をいただき、２０２３年も９冊刊行することができた。あらゆる人たちに深く感謝する次第である。今後も英日翻訳には精力的に取り組みたいが、日英翻訳にも挑戦したい……（続きはこちらから↓）
also-runは、「競馬での等外馬」（４着以下）のことで、日常的には「等外になった人、落選者」「勝つ見込みのない人」の意味でよく使われる。
