先週からあるドラマや映画から知った原作本、
今年初めに買って、読まずにずっと本棚にあったことに気づいて
昨日から読みふけっています。
フィクションでありながらも、今に共通することもたとえられると感じました。
400頁という一冊の本のうち、あと少し残るだけな程に読んでいました。
昔も私は、読書好きで、週に２、３冊は制覇していました。
今読んでいる本は、日系イギリス人作家で、すごく売れた作家です。
その一冊に私は、強く惹かれました。
そして、原作英語本も取り寄せました。
日本でも話題になったのは、今年１月でした。
でも、視聴率は低かったけれど、
綾瀬はるかさんが演じた主人公、恭子＝キャシー・・・
物語の始まりは、残酷でありながらも淡い温かい記憶が薄れていきながらも
現実に向き合う姿が、労しくて、切なくて・・・
この本は、何を語るのかということに、久々にじわりと感じると気づかされました。
