さて今日も、前回に続き、シカゴ旅行の様子を書いていきたいと思います。
Okay, let me keep writing about the bullet trip to Chicago today.
無事、約7時間に及ぶドライブを終え、シカゴ領事館の近くにあるホテルに辿りつく事ができました。
Thanks to Andy's safe driving, we could get to the hotel near the consulate of Japan in Chicago after a 7hour drive.
Andyっちが、「ホテルのレストランは4時に開いてるみたい。疲れてるから、早めに夕食食べに行って、早めに部屋で休もう。」と言ったので、「もちろんもちろん。」という事で、4時半ころにホテルのレストランに行きました。
Andy suggested, "It looks like the restaurant here is open at 4pm. Since I'm tired, I wanna go eat there early so that we can be lazy and relaxed in the room for the rest of the night." and I answered, "Sure!" So, we went to the restaurant around 4:30pm.
このレストランもコロナの影響だと思うのですが、メニューもこの小さなメニュー表にあるものだけでした。
It's probably because of the pandemic, they only had a limited selection of menu at the restaurant.
席もほとんどが使われていませんでした。
They kept more than the half of the tables closed too.
で、私達が座ったのはこちらの窓側の席。ソファになっていて、めちゃくちゃ寛げました。
We sat at one of the tables by the big windows. The sofa there was super comfy and relaxing.
7時間運転ありがとうね。

久しぶりにファンシーなレストラン。サービスもコロナ仕様でカジュアルだったので、Hit-chanは気が楽でした。
We'd eaten at such a fancy restaurant for the first time in a long time. Still, the service was on the casual side, which made me feel more comfortable.
シカゴのダウンタウン、初めて来たんですが、ハイブランドのお店が一杯並んでいて、ファッション好きな人ならめちゃくちゃ楽しい街だろうなぁと思いました。
It's my first time to be in Chicago, but I was amazed by a lot of high fashion brand shops there and though that it'd be super fun for somebody who's really into fashion or shopping.
こちらはAndyっちが頼んだアピタイザー。デビルドエッグ。Hit-chanも一つもらったけど、ちょっとしょっぱかったかな。
This is an appetizer that Andy ordered. Devil's eggs. I stole one, but they're a little bit extra salty.
こちらはHit-chanが頼んだタコス。
Here's my Tacos.
タコスをファンシーにアレンジした感じの上品なお味で美味しかったです。
They're arranged in a very fancy way, but the flavor was pretty good.
Andyっちのメインはニョッキ。Hit-chan、あまりニョッキを美味しいと思った事が無かったのですが、これは優しい味で美味しかったです。
Andy ordered this Gnocchi for his entrée. I'm not a huge fan of Gnocchi in general, but liked it a lot.
めいが生まれてからはめっきりこんな風にレストランでゆっくり食事をするという事が無かったのですが、本当に久しぶりに夫婦二人でちょっとお洒落なレストランでゆっくり食事ができて嬉しかったです。
Andy and I hadn't had a chance to eat at a restaurant like this since May-chan was born, so it was really nice that we could have such a relaxing dinner at a fancy restaurant for the first time in a long time.
食事の後は部屋に戻って、長距離ドライブの疲れを癒す為にTVを観ながらゴロゴロしておりました。
After the nice and peaceful dinner, we both were just relaxed and watching TV in the room.
シカゴの夜景。窓越しなので上手くとれませんでしたが綺麗な景色でした。
I tried to take a picture of the beautiful night view, but it's kind of hard to take a good one through the window.
という感じで、シカゴ旅行1日目の夜は過ぎていきました。
Okay, this is how we spent the night in Chicago.
