How are you doing today?
さて、今日のタイトルなんですが、このブログを長く読んでくださっている方は「銀ちゃん」が誰であるかはご存知かと思いますが、ご存知の無い方、「銀ちゃん」というのはHit-chanの愛車のニックネームでございます。
As for the title today, if you're my blog reader for a long time, you'd probably know who "Gin-chan" is, but for a new reader, "Gin-chan" is actually my car's nickname.
マツダのSUV、2011年製のCX-7です。銀色なので、家族からのアイデアをもらい、そのまま銀ちゃんと命名。
Mazda SUV, CX-7 of 2011. Gin-chan was named after her color since "Gin" means silver in Japanese, which was my sister's idea.
で、ですね、タイトルの通り、この愛車銀ちゃんとお別れする事になりました。
Just as the title says, we decided to say good-bye to Gin-chan recently.
別れというものは突然訪れるもので、このコロナ外出自粛中で全く銀ちゃんを運転しない中、Andyっちが久しぶりに動かしたらどうも変な音がする。
Time to say "Good-bye" often comes all of sudden, and this time was not an exception either. Andy noticed that she was making an odd noise when he drove her while I didn't drive Gin-chan for a while in the quarantine life,
早速車に詳しいAndyっちが調べてくれたら、どうもスタビライザーと呼ばれるパーツが劣化して交換が必要だという見立てでした。
Andy knows a lot about cars, so he checked where the odd noise was coming from. Then, he found that we would need to replace the part called "Sway bar links" on the rear.
正直、Hit-chanは車のメンテに関してはAndyっちに丸投げしているので、その当時Andyっちが説明してくれてたんですが、詳しいパーツの名前とかは右耳から左耳に流れていってたので、今回この事をブログに書くにあたって改めて教えてもらいました。(笑)
To be honest, I didn't remember the name of the broken part and asked Andy what it was again to write about it on my blog. I always leave all the car maintenance to Andy and usually don't pay much attention to his explanation. Haha
スタビライザーというパーツの詳しい内容はこちらのサイトで分かりやすく説明されてあったので、一応貼り付けておきます。
I found this website explaining about the part, sway bar links, so I'll put the link here just in case you're interested. (Japanese)
上のサイトでも説明されているように、このパーツを取り換えるのは自分でもできるらしく、Andyっちの最初の計画も部品を取り寄せて自分で交換するというものでした。
As the website explains above, it's possible to replace the parts on your own, and that's what Andy was going to do, and he ordered a new part.
で、計画通り注文した部品が届いて、ある日Andyっちが部品交換に着手してくれたんですが、取り掛かってから30分も経たないくらいかなぁ？
Then, the new part was delivered and Andy started working on the repair project in the garage one day, but came back in the house in 30mins or less.
「あかん、車の底が全部錆びついてしまっていて、自分一人の力では到底取り外す事もできひん。交換するとしたら、また修理工場に持って行って車を持ち上げてやるしかないけど、それやと人件費がかかるし、思っていたよりもかなり高くつくと思う。」
"Oh well, the bottom of the body is so rusty and I even can't get the part off by myself. We'll need to take it in and have somebody do it. There's no way to take the part off unless you can lift it up. The labor is not gonna be cheap."
と作業を切り上げてきました。
said Andy.
そして、冗談っぽく、
And he sounded like joking and asked me,
「新しく車買う？？」
"Do you want a new car??"
とHit-chanに聞いてきました。
He grinned at me.
で、Hit-chanの答えは、
My answer was,
「え、新しい車欲しいか、欲しくないかって聞かれたら、そりゃあ欲しいって答えるわ。」
"Well, if you're asked weather you want a new car or not..., you'd probably say yes, so I say yes."
って、言いました。(笑)

そんな私の返事を聞いて、早速その日からAndyっちはネットで真剣に色々調べて候補になる車を探し始めました。
When Andy got my answer, he started looking at cars for me online right from that day.
そして、すぐに２、３台くらいの候補をHit-chanに示してくれ、その中の1台が良いかもと思いました。
Then, he picked up a couple of potential cars for me, and I liked one of them.
このブログでも書いたんですけど、我が家では今年の4月にAndyっちの車を買い替えたばかり。
I wrote about this before here, but Andy actually just bought his winter car in April.
Andyっちがしょっちゅう車を買い替えたりするから、我が家単位では車の買い替えが頻繁に行われているんですが、Hit-chan単体で考えれば、銀ちゃんを購入したのは2011年12月なので、かれこれ8年半くらい乗っていました。
It seems so often that we buy cars since Andy's frequently changes his cars, but me personally, I'd driven Gin-chan about for 8.5years from December 2011.
この時にHit-chanの初代愛車トマトちゃんとお別れして、銀ちゃんを迎えました。
We said good-bye to my first car, "Tomato-chan" and said hi to "Gin-chan" at the time.
ちなみに、上の記事で書いているHit-chanの初代愛車、トマトちゃんはこの子。懐かしいなぁ。
FYI, my very first car, Tomato-chan, was her. Oh, a long long time ago.
まぁ、長くなるので今日のところはこの辺で終わりにしたいと思いますが、こんな感じで急に愛車銀ちゃんとのお別れまでのカウントダウンが始まりました。
Anyways, I have much more to write about Gin-chan, so I'm ending this here today. This is how we started counting down to good-bye to Gin-chan.
