「イベントで実験 vol.2」で可変ビットレートにすると音が良くなるのでは？
というご意見がありました。
mp3では、変換にさいして音楽信号を細切れにします。
これをフレームといいます。
このフレームをすべて同じビットレートで変換する方式が固定ビットレート(CBR)です。
では、可変ビットレート(VBR)とは何でしょう？
例えば、無音を変換する場合は低いビットレートであっても音質劣化はありません。
フレームの内容によって低いビットレートにしても音質の劣化が少ない場合は
自動的にビットレートを低く設定するのが可変ビットレートです。
可変ビットレートは多少ファイルサイズが小さくできます。
ビットレートの最大値は320kです。
ビットレートを320kとし、ファイルサイズにこだわらない場合、
可変ビットレートが音質が良いというのは間違いです。
CBR & VBR

The maximum of the bit rate is 320k.
In this case, it is a mistake that the VBR of sound quality is good.
