第3回預言者ムハンマド・セミナー報告 (Report of 3rd Seminar on the Prophet Muhammad - S.A.W.)

来賓として参加してくださったサウジアラビア王国大使アブドゥルアジーズ・トルキスターニ大使のご挨拶
日本語もお上手な大使ですから、てっきり通訳なしでお話されるかと思っていましたが、
演壇に立たれた際に「通訳してください」「へ？」と不意打ちを食らいました。^_^;

Dr.'Abdulaziz Turkistani, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia gave a short and good speech as the special guest to the seminar.
Since he speaks good Japanese, I thought he would give a speach without an interpreter
but when he stood on the podium, he astonished me by asking me to interprete his speach...

アルハムドゥリッラー、10月10日(日)東京大学弥生講堂にて開催された
日本ムスリム平和連盟主催の第3回預言者ムハンマド・セミナーは無事まずまずの成功裡に幕を閉じました。

Assalaamu 'Alaykum.

Alhamdu lillaah, the 3rd Seminar on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) in the University of Tokyo
by Japan Muslims Peace Federation and TUICS (Tokyo University Islamic Cultural Society) with other Islamic organizations went quite successfully.

Although I could see from the place of Moderator many vacant seats but I heard from Professor NAGASAWA
who is a generous supervisor for TUICS and has been attending this seminar all these 3 years
that the numbers of general Japanese audience (non-Muslims) were more than the last year
so we hope it was O.K. to conclude the result of holding this 3rd seminar, Biiznillaah.

Here, I’d like to thank and appreciate all those who helped, joined, prayed for us Muslims in Japan to complete this 3rd seminar for their kind cooperation.

ムスリムの良い習慣として、開会時には決まってクルアーンの読誦が先に来ます。
第1回、第2回は東京ジャーミィのトルコ人イマームが担当しましたが、今回この栄えある役目を担ったのは
数年前より大塚マスジドのイマームをしておられる、イエメンはサナアー出身のハーリド・アルアムーディー師です。
(貫禄がある方ですが、実は彼私と同い年(^_^))

マーシャーアッラー、預言者ムハンマドさま(祝福と平安あれ)にまつわる聖句をいくつか読み上げた彼の読誦は、あっぱれ美しいものでした。

今回に限らず、ムスリムが特に一般の方々を交えて集うときのクルアーン読誦による開会式はぜひ「ただの習慣」としてやり過ごすのではなく、
誰の心根にもいちばん確実に響き渡り得る絶好の機会として大切にしていただきたいものです。
なんといっても、ほかの誰でもない、天地万物の主アッラーの御言葉なのですから。


As a good custom of Muslims, we opened our gathering by listening to the recitation of Holy Quran.
Shaykh Khalid Al-‘Amuudiy from San’aa, Yemen, who is now the Imam of Otsuka Masjid since several years before, took the honorable role of reciting the Quran.

Maa shaa Allah, his recitation was beautiful and touching, covering many verses
which speaks about the Prophet Muhammad May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him.

I hope and prayed that recitation reached the hearts of some Japanese audience, In shaa Allah,
for the matter of fact that listening to the Quran directly grants one of the most powerful, effective links to Almighty Allah.

最初の講義は、パキスタン、イスラマバードのリファー国際大学名誉教授のアニース・アハマド博士による
「人類にとってのロールモデルとしてのムハンマド(祝福と平安あれ)」でした。

ロールモデルとしての八つの基準と時と場所を超えて通用する絶対的な七つの価値観を中心に、
預言者ムハンマドさま(アッラーの祝福と平安あれ)がいかに理想的なロールモデルかを明らかにするアニース先生のプレゼンは、
通訳しながらも頷かされることの多い興味深いものでした。

The first lecture was done by the respected professor, Dr. Anis Ahmad, from Pakistan,
who is a meritorious professor of comparative religion and the Vice-Chancellor of Riphah International University, Islamabad,
as well as an Editor of Quarterly Journal “West & Islam”, Islamabad.

His lecture was under the title of “Muhammad (S.A.W.) as Role Model”
and concentrated on 8 benchmarks for the ideal role model and 7 absolute values of Sharee’ah such as;

⑥ 感化性(人をやる気にさせる能力)

『絶対的な七つの価値観』

といったもので、一般の方々にもわかりやすかったのではないかと思います。
(わかりづらかったとしたら、すみません、それは私の通訳が悪かったからです…)

スブハーナッラー、実はこのロールモデルとしての比較考察は
私自身がイスラームへ改宗するにあたっても非常に大きな意味合いを持ちました。
詳しくは「入信記」をお読みいただけると幸いですが、
自分が日常の信仰生活を歩んでいく中で「どこまで実践可能で、どこまで包括的な指針を与えてくれるか」どうかのロールモデルとしては
やはり釈尊やイエス様と比べてムハンマドさま(アッラーの祝福と平安あれ)が圧倒的に輝いて見えたのが鍵でした。

Likewise, you can imagine that it was really good presentation to show the Japanese audience
how our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) was, and still is, and forever will be, the perfect role model for all human beings.

サウジアラビア王国大使アブドゥルアジーズ・トルキスターニ博士のご挨拶を経て、
ポスターセッションおよび休憩となりました。
時間に余裕があったので、「質疑応答時間を持てばよかったですね」と日本ムスリム平和連盟の代表にお伝えしたら、
「ええ、それは司会のあなた次第でした」とグサリ…すみません、私が悪かったのですね…
でも通訳と同時には司会として時間管理に気を配る頭が回りませんでした(涙)

休憩時間で周りの人たちと歓談していると、元アラブ イスラーム学院長ムハンマド・ハサン・アッズィール博士が来てくれました。
ひとしきり通訳の労をねぎらってくださったあと、
「君は本当に幸運だ。日本語、英語、アラビア語ができるのだから、アッラーにしっかりと感謝しなくてはならないね。」
と繰り返し言ってくれたのでした。

スブハーナッラー、至高のアッラーの前で少しでも謙虚であろうと努めるあまり、
「アッラーこそがすべてであって、自分はなんでもない」という思いから、
自分に与えられし恩恵の認識と自覚が薄れてしまっていたようです。

そうですよねぇ…ちょっと思い返せば明らかなことですが、
18で入信するまでは「イスラームなんて狂信的で恐ろしい、見るにも値しない邪教だ」と毛嫌いしていた人が
「イスラーム命！イスラームなしの人生なんてありえない！」とまで心底思う人になったのですから、
アッラーには感謝してもしきれませんね(^.^)

After the 1st Lecture and the speech of Ambassador Turkistani, there was a long tea break with the poster session in the corridor.
During the tea break, Dr.Muhammad Hasan AzZeer, ex-president of Arabic Islamic Institute in Tokyo, kindly came to me
and kindly appreciated the interpreting work for me and repeatedly said in Arabic,
"You are so lucky to be fluent in 3 languages! You must thank Allah a lot for that."

Subhaana-llaah, trying to be humble in front of Almighty Allah made me feel "I'm nothing while He is everything"
and such feelings made me less aware of how lucky I am and how great what Allah bestowed me...

Yes...from the person who knew nothing about Islam, no, it was worse! I hated Islam! I used to believe Islam was fanatic, terrible religion!...
to the person who sees and feels that Islam is everything and Islam is the life for him...
Yes, I must thank Allah endlessly...

通訳をして疲れたので腰を下ろしていると、シャイフ・ハーリドが来てくれました。
「君がどうやってムスリムになったのか、その話を聞きたい」と言ってくれたのですが、
聞いた話をアラビア語でまとめたいというので「実は苦い経験があってね」とお断りしました。
私がまだダマスカスで学生をしていたころ、
私と家内の入信物語をインタビューして英語とアラビア語訳でほかの欧米人5人の物語と一緒に出版した友人がいたのですが、
出版前の原稿確認もなにもなしで「本」として手渡されたものはなんと間違いだらけ…。
名称等の間違いはまだしも、私が入信したのはただ単にエジプト人の女の子に惚れたからのような書きぶりがされていたのには
心外甚だしくて残念な思いをしたことがあるのです。

やはりインタビューのまとめではなく、どうせ訳すなら自分で訳さねば、と思います。そんな時間が持てるかどうかはまた別の課題ですが…。


Speaking with my friend, Shaykh Khalid Al-'Amuudiy from Yemen.
It was nice of him to be interested in knowing my story of Islam how I came to Islam.

As I wrote that story in Japanese, I shall translate it into English and Arabic
if that might be somewhat beneficial to my English and Arabic speaking brothers and sisters, In shaa Allah.
(May Allah grant me enough time for that)

二つ目の講義は、泣く子も黙る(いや、ハサン先生を見たらいい意味で泣く子も笑うかも)日本イスラーム界の巨人、ハサン中田先生の
「政治指導者としてのムハンマド(祝福と平安あれ)」でした。私のブログを見てくれる方で中田先生のことを知らない方は皆無でしょうが、
中田先生は同志社大学神学部の教授をしておられる日本中東学会指折りの研究者です。詳しくは、中田先生のホームページをご覧ください。

お話の冒頭でハサン先生はイスラーム世界で有名な学者という紹介でアルハビーブ・アリー・アルジフリーの言葉を引用されました。
エジプトのテレビ番組の一部をYoutubeで紹介しているものがあり、
司会者が日本人のメンタリティをどう思うか、そして日本でイスラームが今まで広まらなかったのはどうしてだと思うかを問いかけたのに対し、
「ムスリムが邪魔になっているから。つまりムスリムがよい模範となっていないから」と答えたという話です。
これは私もつい最近ブログを見てくれているイギリスの同胞から紹介してもらって拝見したばかりで、
来日経験のないはずのアルハビーブ・アリーがよくご存知だなぁと感心したばかりでした。

それからはハサン先生のご自説を紹介、解説され、
「イスラームの使命はその教えシャリーアの統治によって大地を解放することであり、
正しいイスラームを体現した預言者ムハンマド(祝福と平安あれ)以降スンナ派では学者たち(ウラマーゥ)が預言者の相続者として部分的に、
統一された一つのウンマ(信仰共同体)が正しいイスラームを体現してきた。
(シーア派では、預言者ムハンマド以降代々のイマームによって体現されてきたとするが、
9世紀にはそのイマームがお隠れになったため、それ以降は究極的な指導者はいない)
ところが民族主義台頭かつカリフ国家の崩壊以降ムスリム世界がバラバラで同じムスリム同士が自由に行き来できず、
イスラームの教えシャリーア以外のものによる支配が蔓延っている現状では、
ムスリム世界の誰一人として正しいイスラームを語る資格はない。
カリフ国家再興が果たされる日まで唯一残された道は
細々とムスリムの日常生活の中でムスリムらしい振る舞いを通して人をイスラームへと誘うだけ」といったことを力説されました。

The 2nd lecture was under the title of “Muhammad as the political leader”
by one of the greatest Daa’iy among Japanese Muslims, Dr.Hasan NAKATA, who is a professor in the school of Divinity at Doshisha University, Kyoto.

He quoted at the beginning of his lecture some comments of Al-Habeeb 'Ali Al-Jefri
on his opinion of the obstacle for the reality of Islam not being spread in Japan as “because of Muslims (being obstacle)”.
Then he went to go on his speech to explain the real message and the true mission of Islam as
“To Free the World from all kinds of oppressions and man-made rules through governing by the Sharee’ah”.
Thus, as long as Muslim world itself change themselves and be united under one single leader and govern the Muslim world by the pure and whole Sharee’ah,
we have no authority whatsoever to clarify and say “This is the Islam” for non-Muslims to look upon and for new Muslims to rely on.
Therefore, we have no right to TALK about Islam and talking wouldn’t work
but we can only LIVE and ACT as Muslims should be and through that Da’wah bilHaal (Calling people towards Islam through the behavior)
is the only way we can proceed to, until the Khilaafah is revived.

最後三つ目の講演は、日本の中東学会の大御所たる東京大学名誉教授の板垣雄三先生の「日本人は預言者ムハンマドをどのように見てきたか」というお話でした。

過去の先達の功績をご紹介くださり、風刺画やクルアーン焼き払い事件などを前に日本人としても賢明な対処すべきであること、
ムスリムはムスリムで預言者ムハンマド(祝福と平安あれ)の遺産を独り占めにするのではなく、
日本や世界の人たちにもっと分け与えるべきであることなど、双方にとっての課題を示唆するお話をしてくださいました。

Ustaadh of Asaatidhah in the Islamic and Meddle East Studies in Japan, Dr.Yuzo ITAGAKI,
who is a meritorious professor of Tokyo University,
gave the 3rd lecture under the title of "How Japanese viewd Muhammad so far",
introducing the old works of past elders, pointing out some challenges for both Japanese and Muslims.

As for Muslims, he said that Muslims shouldn't be closing the great heritage of the Prophet Muhammad within themselves
but they must share and introduce it to all the people in the world more and more.

スブハーナッラー、思えば私が板垣先生のお話を拝聴したのは二年前の第一回預言者ムハンマド・セミナーにおいてが初めてでしたが、
「ムスリムではない先生がムスリム以上にイスラームのことを前向きに語ってくださるなんてすごい！」と感動したものです。

Subhaana-llaah, Dr.Yuzo ITAGAKI himself is a Christian but he has been defending Islam
and giving very revolutionary positive images of Islam to Japanese readers abd audience through his writings and lectures.
May Allah guide him and complete his life with Islam...
