言語との付き合い-Relation with languages

言葉は人間関係を結ぶ手段である。
=Language is a tool to connect with relationships.

使い方によって、結ばれ、切られる。
=By using language, people can be bond or broke up.

私は3か国語を話すが、大したことではない。
=I speak 3 languages but it is not a big deal.

大事なことは、
=The most important thing is,

言葉の奥にある、その人の人間性だ。
= human nature, people’s personality at the behind of words.

たが、3か国語も話すと、

韓国語、日本語、英語を通して、
=Korean, Japanese, through English,

人間のありさまを外側から眺めることができる。
= can look out the human state from outside.

確かに各言語には、

使い方の良し悪しがあり、

直訳で単語だけ代入しても、元の意味が通じないことが多々ある。
= if substitutes a word for a word literally,

その例を挙げるには、文字の制限上、多少無理があるので、

日本語だけ取っても、

自分が話そうとした意味が相手に伝わらず、

受け手の多様性を考慮せずに、
=He says without consideration of receiver’s diversity,

一方的なグループをターゲットにした一面性だけで
= he targets one-sided group with unilateral sides,

全ての人を丸め込もうとする。
= he tris to convincing all voters.

教育された人達から見て、
=The view points from educated people,

彼の説は明らかに矛盾のようで偽りがあるが、
= his theories are likely falsehood and clearly inconsistent,

彼を信望する人も46％ほどいるので驚く。
= surprisingly he still has 46% of supporting who trusts his words.

日本や韓国のように言葉使いを重視する国では
=Such countries Japan and Korea which attach greater importance of wording,

彼が支持されることは絶対にありえないと思うが、
= absolutely it is impossible for him to be supported,

それが国の言語への差の現れだろう。
= that is the manifestation of difference in using languages.

私はトランプさんの下品な発言を聞く度に
=Every time I hear Mr. Trump’s vulgar public speech

坐禅をやって良かったと思えてくる。
= I come to think that better did zazen-mediation.

坐禅をすれば、言語の束縛から個人性を分離できるようになる。
=If do zazen, it leads to be able to be freed individuality
=from the bondage of language.

そのことによって、本来の人間の在り方を
=By doing that, the origin of humanity,

正しい言葉使いで表すことに繋げることになる。
= would be connected to the right way and the right way to express.

もしもトランプさんが坐禅をしてたら
=What if Trump does meditation, perhaps

政治家として注目されているだろうが…
= he would have been drawing attention as a politician…
