A Happy New Year!!!

2011-01-04 | My roots

A Happy New Year to you ALL I spent my New years with my dad and granma... as usual! But i felt this was the best new years in many years since NOTHING BAD happened, and everyone was healthy, happy, and peaceful. Normal every day life maybe the happiest thing in life..... i DO MISS traveling though, and of course my love one in Taiwan... but spending a new year with my dad and granma is not replacebale :>

New Year's dishes (osechi)

What's inside?  Can you guess?

Salmon eggs! which i hate. hahaha i hate the jelly thing inside... but its considered "valuable" food- its expensive!!

Tai- This fish is "pleasant" and often prepared for celebration- New years, New born, Marriage, Graduation etc..  So yum!

Let the Lobster opening ceremony begin!

                                 ↑ head off

                               YAY!!!

glad you had a great new year! that new year's meal looks sooo good and i love the little nuances like the salmon roe in the tiny orange! that was soooo cute!! ^_^ the thought of someone tediously carving out thousands of mini oranges and then filling each one up with a teaspoon of salmon roe makes me really appreciate it even more!

btw, it's decided. we're coming to Japan this year! :D i'll give you details when we get things decided and fixed. things are still kinda wishy-washy right now. ;)
