How's your day going today?
さて、11月最後の木曜日は感謝祭でした。
So, the last Thursday of November was Thanksgiving day! (Yeah, always.)
感謝祭って一般的にもそうかもしれませんが、我が家でもクリスマスの次くらいに大きなイベントです。
I guess that it applies to you in general, but Thanksgiving is probably the second biggest family event next to Christmas.
今年もそんな訳で、木曜日にパパママのお家に集まりました。
So, as usual, we gathered at Dad&Mom's house on Thanksgiving day.
感謝祭と言えば、感謝祭ディナーなので、キッチンはフル稼働です。
Speaking of Thanksgiving, the main event is the special dinner. So, the kitchen was crowded on the day too.
めいも皆の中に入って雰囲気を楽しんでいました。
May-chan wanted to join the big boys and girls too and enjoyed the warm and fun atmosphere.
今年もママが綺麗にテーブルをセットしてくれました。
Mom nicely set the table in Thanksgiving style.
お花もね。
She got the flowers too.
ナプキンは七面鳥。
Tha napkins were turkey, of course!
庭にも七面鳥。(笑)
Yeah, we got a visit from turkeys in the yard too. LOL
感謝祭と全然関係ないけど、日本の母が描いた曼荼羅も綺麗に飾ってくれていました。
It doesn't have to do with Thanksgiving at all, but Mom nicely put my mom's drawing out in the living room too.
お母さん、綺麗に飾ってくれてるよ～。

今年も料理担当はママです。
As always, Mom cooks almost everything by herself, and this year wasn't exceptional.
料理ができる間、めいはプロテインの容器で遊んだり。。。（この何気ない段差に心惹かれるみたいです。）
While Mom was finishing her cooking, May-chan was playing with this big protein container for a while. (Plus, she really liked this step for some reason too.)
ブラッド君に抱っこしてもらったり。。。
She also enjoyed being held by Brad and...
グランパにも高い高いしてもらったり、甘え放題でしたな。
flying up, up, hight with Grandpa. Yeah, she's so spoiled in the family.
今年のターキー。小さめだけど、まぁまぁな量あるよ。
Okay, here's the turkey. It's smaller than usual but still big enough to feed everybody.
こちらはベジタリアンのブラッド君用のターキーもどき。
This is Brad's vegetarian turkey.
この人はお腹空き過ぎて、フライングいただきます！
This lil monster was too hungry to wait for everybody else, so Bon appetite first!
めいにとっては初めての感謝祭ディナーでしたが、ターキーを始め、マッシュポテト、人参などパクパク食べてくれました。
It was May-chan's first Thanksgiving dinner, but she really loved the turkey, mashed potato and carrot!
大人たちも続いて、いただきます！
Okay, it's time for the adults to say Bon appetite!
初めての感謝祭！昨年はこの2日後にめいが生まれたよ。
The first Thanksgiving with 3 of us together! May-chan was born 2 days after last year.
こちらがHit-chanのプレート。芋好きなので、大量のマッシュポテトにグレイビーソースをたっぷりかけていただきます！サラダはAndyっちが作ってくれました。
This is my plate. I love potato too, so put lots of the mash potato and generously poured the gravy sauce on it. (Andy made the salad.)
いやぁ、今年も変わらずの美味しさでございました！
Oh well, it was as delicious as usual.
実はパパとママ、来年にリタイアをする予定なので今現在その準備で色々と忙しいんですが、そんな中今年もママが時間をかけて感謝祭ディナーを作ってくれて本当に感謝でした。
Actually, Dad&Mom are planning to retire next year and have been super busy to get everything ready for it. Though, mom took a lot of her time and energy to cook all the Thanksgiving dinner for us, and I really appreciate it.
で、食後のデザートは。。。
Then, the dessert was...
もちろんパンプキンパイ！
pumpkin pie for sure!
このパンプキンパイもママお手製なんですが、皆から「今までで一番の美味しさ！」と大好評でした。
The pie was also Mom's homemade, and everybody said, "It's the best pie ever!!" and loved it.
実はHit-chan、パンプキンパイはそんなに好きじゃないんですが、ママのこのパンプキンパイは美味しくてペロッといけちゃいました。
To be honest with you, I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin pie in general but loved this pumpkin and finished the piece in a second.
という事で、今年の感謝祭前半はこんな感じでございました！！！
