昨日の夕方予定されていたクリスマスキャロルは雨で1日順延され、今日おこなわれました
最初にトナカイならぬ消防のレスキューカーの上に乗ってサンタクロースが登場し、広いスタジアムを1周しながら子供たちにキャンディーを振り撒きます
地元のミュージシャンや中学生ぐらいの男の子のデュエット、若い女の子のソロに続いてJICAが紹介され、SVのUさんが詩吟を披露するとずいぶん驚いたようです
それに続いてボランティアとJICAスタッフ、ローカルスタッフの有志による「よさこい鳴子踊り」のテンポの良さはソロモン人のハートを射止めたようです
また2名のJOCVのギター伴奏で日本人出演者全員による賛美歌斉唱で締めくくりました
それが終わった途端に雲行きが怪しくなり、観客が出口に殺到したため身動きがとれなくなり、そのうちに激しい雨が降ってきて、イベントは打ち切りになりました
プログラムはおそらく30％ほどしか済んでいませんでしたが、JICAの出番はちょうど終わり、出演者たちも練習の甲斐があったと思います

Songs of local musicians, the duet by the low teenager boys, solo singing by a young girl and after then JICA was introduced.
The first Ms. U performed the Shi-gin and all audience seemed so surprising.
Furthermore the cheerful dance of Yosakoi-naruko by the some of the volunteers, JICA officers and local staff was so well accepted by the Solomon Islanders.
Finally they accomplished their performance with the hymn with accompaniment of two JOCV’s guitar.
Just after then the weather became threatening and a lot of people rushed on to the exit and stopped up.
Within a short time it became heavy rain and the event had been canceled.
The program was only 30% finished but the term of JICA team had just finished and all players must be well worth for the practice.
