今日病院にあらたにアメリカのNGOから内視鏡のセットが寄付され、その説明会がおこなわれました
昨日夕方、5名のチームで24時間かけてアメリカ東海岸から到着しました
午前中に会議室で講義がおこなわれ、ニューハンプシャー州のスチュアート医師から内視鏡の概要と適応症例および合併症の説明があり、午後からは実際の患者で技術指導がおこなわれ、ソロモン人の外科医が二人、実際に操作を体験しました
患者はウェスタン州の41歳の女性で、実際に大きな胃がんらしいものが見つかり、組織生検をして病理検査をしますが、この病院で病理学的検査ができませんので、検体をオーストラリアに送ることになりました
指導医によると明らかながん組織で病理検査の結果を待つまでもなく手術が必要ということでした
今後医師の技術が確立されたとしても、病理等のバックアップ組織なしでどこまで有効に使えるかが心配です
Today the endoscope set was donated by the NGO in the US and workshop had held by the delegations.
Delegation team was consisted of 5 members and they arrived yesterday evening from the east coast of the US taking 24 hours.
In the morning the lecture was given by Dr. Stuart from New Hampshire about the outline of the endoscope, indications and major complications.
In the afternoon using the real patient the technical guide had held and two Solomon doctors had experienced the handling.
The patient was 41 years old woman from Western province and huge polyp seemed the cancer had been found.
They took some sample tissue by the biopsy procedure and they will send it to Australia because the pathological inspection was not available in this hospital.
Leading doctor said it was a cancer significantly even without the pathological study the patient needed to receive the surgical procedure.
If the doctors will acquire the enough technique and knowledge it will be anxious without the backup organization like the pathologist.
