日本の時間、世界の時間。
The time of Japan, the time of the world

It has been flattering and dutifully obsequious like a pet dog.

The following is from Masayuki Takayama's serialized column that brings the Weekly Shincho, released today, to a successful conclusion.
This article also proves that he is the one and only journalist in the postwar world.
It is a must-read not only for Japanese citizens but also for people worldwide.
The emphasis in the text other than the headline is mine.
Controlling the Newspapers
The relationship between Sankei Shimbun, Asahi Shimbun, and Mao Zedong's China resembles a game of rock-paper-scissors.
Asahi feels so indebted to China.
It has been flattering and dutifully obsequious like a pet dog.
Correspondent Iei Akiba wrote about the Cultural Revolution, in which 20 million people died as if it were an excellent thing.
When Lin Biao, the number two man, died in a plane crash while on the run, Akioka went along with Mao's wishes and kept him alive for more than a year, saying, "He is still alive."
Why did he continue to write such misinformation?
The reason stems from the fact that Tomoo Hirooka, the president of Asahi, ordered him not to write anything inconvenient.
Since then, this phrase has become Asahi's company policy.
For example, the testimony of former Ehime Governor Moriyuki Kato in the Kakei scandal dismissed the allegations.
That is why Asahi wrote not a single line.
China appreciated Asahi's dedication and offered Akioka the post of Japanese representative of the People's Daily.
Other Asahi correspondents were also given local women or the post of editor-in-chief of the Japanese edition of the government magazine "People's China," depending on their work.
The Sankei Shimbun did not flatter China.
Correspondent Minoru Shibata read and reported the madness of the Cultural Revolution from the wall newspaper.
Beijing was furious, expelled Shibata, and closed its bureau.
But that, in turn, angered Sankei.
The Sankei exposed the hidden things of China through various channels, including Taiwan.
China broke down and asked Sankei to open a Beijing bureau again.
China thought Sankei would now add a little more care, but Sankei reported that the human mind and the flow of the Yangtze River in China had become more polluted.
Yang Jiechi is now doing his best to force Sankei to stop granting visas to its correspondents and to close down its bureau.
China can beat Asahi, but not Sankei.
As for Sankei and Asahi, Sankei has exposed Asahi's fabricated reports on the front page and has taken several presidents' heads off, but Sankei's circulation and salary are overwhelmingly lower than Asahi's.
Sankei's reporters are being pulled out in droves, and Sankei is becoming weaker and weaker.
Dentsu is actually complicit in this.
Dentsu is not just an advertising agency.
It has a Newspaper Bureau, which is in charge of all advertisements placed in newspapers.
The same advertisement gets five columns in the Asahi, half in the Yomiuri, and half that in the Sankei.
It is as if Dentsu decides the salaries of each company's reporters, so even bad Asahi will never go out of business.
For example, when Japan invited the World Cup, Dentsu, who was in charge, said, "I wonder how it would be if Japan and Korea co-hosted it.
It is said that Haruyuki Takahashi and Chung Mong-joon were in charge, but no one wanted to be associated with such a country.
Then, Asahi ran an editorial hailing the Japan-Korea co-hosting event, and at the same time, it put out a lie about comfort women and preached that the co-hosting would be a good atonement.
The reason why they go to such lengths is that they are given color through advertising daily.
He cannot sleep at night with his feet turned to Dentsu.
So the World Cup was co-hosted, but it was still too much for Korea.
They bribed the referees, acquitted Martini of kicking him in the head in the match against Italy, and had Totti red-carded, creating a nightmare World Cup that Korea went on to win.
"Korea failed to reach the finals-20 years ago today; the Asahi Shimbun reported this on the front page'' (reporter Tetsuya Hakoda) in a column the other day.

*A man who used to be a North Korean spy was a professor at Ritsumeikan! As I have mentioned several times in this column, Tetsuya Hakoda was his top student at Ritsumeikan University at the time.
The connection between the hair-raising country of North Korea and the Asahi Shimbun is horrifying.
When Mr. Abe was assassinated, my "view" instantly "transcended" that the real culprits were Asahi and its followers, and I also "viewed" Chinese manipulation.
However, when Mr. Abe was assassinated, many people in South Korea were as delighted as those on China's social networking sites.
I was also "in the view" of North Korea's recent official statement that there were people in Japan who praised the "punishment" of Mr. Abe.
I have gained "transcendence" because Tetsuya Yamagami was manipulated because of the great potential of the Korean Peninsula.
I am even more convinced of the involvement of the Korean Peninsula when I "see" their sympathizers raising their voices in opposition to state funerals and the like. The "view" of the Korean Peninsula is even more "transcendent."*

Asahi is not sneering at the fact that Korea didn't win the tournament even though they cheated.
They call it an "accomplishment" that Korea made it to the top four and said that "after that, Korea was filled with confidence that they could do it."
In reality, however, the crime of taking advantage of the White nation was discovered after that.
He clearly misunderstood the phrase, "If you do it, you can do it."
But when Dentsu said so, the newspapers obeyed, whether they wanted to or not, and even 20 years later, they are still wagging their tails.
Haruyuki Takahashi, who was at the center of the fuss, has now fallen into the hands of the judges, and the Tokyo Olympics is now under scrutiny.
Once there was a fuss, and Takeda Miya was blamed for it, but some people were suspicious of Dentsu.
No wonder the newspaper bureaus silenced them.
Before all the newspapers become distorted like the Asahi, we want to investigate the newspaper bureau and advertise in the Sankei.
