『とにかく硬い木・ハードウッドブロック2』の続きです。

グルーブ(共振点をコントロールする溝)ですが

このアイディアはアコースティックギターの力木(ブレース)によるものです。

以前、ギター工場を見学したときのこと、

ギターの内側に木の細い棒が何本も貼り付けてありました。

ギター職人さんに伺ったところ、

この力木で木の板の響きを微調整するとのことでした。

ハードウッドブロックでは逆に溝を掘り込むことで

同様の効果を実現しましたが

溝の形、幅、深さを決定するまでに

色々な溝を掘っては、聴くという作業を何日も続けました。

The groove which controls a resonance point,

This idea is based on the brace of an acoustic guitar. 

When I visited a guitar factory, 

I looked at the thin stick of some trees stuck inside the guitar. 

When the guitar craftsman was asked, 

it was a thing that sound of a wooden board is finely tuned by the brace. 

In the hardwood block, the groove realized the same effect. 

In order to determine the form, the width, and the depth of the groove, 

The work of manufacturing and listening various grooves was continued for many many days.
